Amy, did you know this is referred to a "golden birthday" being Emily will turn the same number as the day of the month she's born on?

Cameron is turning 12 on October 8th.

My family had an interesting set of birthdays the past year. All three of my kids turned their age on the day they were born, starting with my middle daughter who turned 21 last August 21st, follow by DD#2 18 on April 18th and DS 24 one June 24th.

Does anyone know if DCL will pick up guests staying at the DTD Hotels, such as the Royal Plaza???

We will be coming in on Saturday (maybe Friday) and probably won't be doing the parks this go around. The Plaza was just redone and there are great rates. BUT, if DCL doesn't pick up there, I'm not sure how we can plan it.

HELP! Thanks!
What you will have to do is get to one of the select WDW resorts that has a pick-up.

Thanks! I just found out that DCL does not pick up at the Plaza... Rats! We'll keep looking into places to stay.

I don't want to be the one to break the bad news to you, cause I know you'll be at home holding down the fort and working hard but..........

They probably will have a ton of fun!!!!!of course they will miss you and wish you were with them

Sure, we're going to miss him, but not his camera. Gary loves to take pictures but tends to slow us up in the process. The kids don't want to pose and when they do, one or the other isn't alway ready at the same time and Gary's still trying to get the perfect shot. Drives us absolutely batty! I have to admit, I do like to see the pictures when the vacation is over, it's just the process of getting them taken that's a pain.

And, we'll miss him as he usually deals with the valet, tipping, putting Walker up on his shoulders, getting a stroller and returning it if we decide Walker needs one, paying the bills and the biggy -- taking Walker to the bathroom on the plane. Maybe that can be Cameron's job this flight.

Ok, I'm all caught up again! We've been busy this morning. We all got up and went to breakfast at Chick-fil-A. Then, we headed to Emily's school for a little preview of her classroom. She was excited to meet her teacher and a few of her classmates were there too. There were lots of things to do in there and I really think that Emily is going to like it. Then, we brought Chris to work and over to Target to get some cat food. Now, the girls want to work on a craft project, so we'll go do that.

Then, tonight Emily has swim lessons and I'm doing a research/focus group type thing tonight for our local paper. They called a couple of weeks ago and are doing a study on how people read the paper. They are going to give me $100 cash to read today's paper at their facility this evening. I figured that I couldn't beat it, and it gives me a few extra spending $$$s for my scrapbooking trip next month.

Amy, sign me up for a focus group like that! I haven't read a paper in so long, I'm not sure I remember how. To get paid to sit and relax at your leisure, what a great opprotunity!

Ohh Georgie you are correct that southwest does not participate (here's the dis thread about who does http://130.94.75.33/showthread.php?t=944813 ). Sorry Cindy - we cannot fly SWA out of DFW easily pirate: because of the lovely laws so I forget that it's not a participating airline. You can go to guest services to print the passes though!

I should have known that sounded to good to be true.

Do you think it would still work if I told them Julie said it would? ;)

I know, the funny thing is that when they called, they asked if I had contacts or glasses and I was about to say yes, when I realized, hey no, I had that surgery, I don't have them anymore. Anyway, I do have to get fitted with some kind of state-of-the-art glasses that will track how I read the paper. But hey, for $100, and reading the paper, no problem at all!!! And, they said that it was only for about 60 minutes, so I figured $100/hour is a pretty good payout!!!:thumbsup2

And Cindy - if you can't find someone to check you in, just call me at home and I'll do it online for you. Then, you can just print out the boarding passes at the airport.

Good morning everyone! I have contacted Mears and this is what I found out. We have 2 charter options #1 an 11 passenger van or #2 a 47 passenger motor coach. I asked for round trip prices back and forth to BCV (additional stops would be additional money). The prices quoted included gratuity and everything.

#1 Van round trip would cost $408 round trip. Breaks down to $37.09 per person (including little ones).

#2 Coach round trip would cost $897 round trip. Breaks down to $19.09 per person (including little ones) if the coach was FULL. This would be the most economical if we had enough people. Plus, luggage would not be an issue. Everything needs to be paid at least a month prior to sailing. Do we have enough cruisers interested? I would take on the task if we had enough interest. Could be the PARTY BUS!

I will have to talk to Gary to decide just how we are getting to the port.

However, I have to comment about the storage space in a van (I'm assuming it's a 12 passenger and they quoted for 11 because of the driver). There is very little storage space in the back of the van. I have a 12 passenger van and when Gary takes it camping, he takes the very last seat out in order to get his camping gear in. Even on a day-to-day basis, I have a couple of bags back there and a double stroller and that's about all.

So, just a heads up, unless you all plan on traveling very lightly, you might want to reconsider a van.

I just received a call from our neighbor -- the one who owns a house down in Orlando. He's down there right now and planned to come home tonight but decided since they could change their airline tickets at no cost, they're going to stay the weekend. So, he offered to have his sister drop him off at the airport and then he'll ride with me in the rental car to VWL to make sure the kids and I find it without any problems. I drove it last trip, without a hitch, but at night things are a bit different. So, it looks like we won't be taking the scenic route and should be at the resort easily.

We are just biding our time until Gary gets home and the limo arrives. It's certainly a slow afternoon around here. :bitelip:

Awesome ideas! We're renting a car to haul all the wedding crap, I mean stuff, that will be traipsing across the country with us.

On #2 remember that should anyone have late seating the bus would need to wait for their dining times (I don't know what time that is since we are at 0 dark thirty) so be prepared - still better pricing than DCL!

Well, that's nice to know. I hate being in the dark and getting lost. It gives you a very eerie feeling.

What time does your limo arrive to take you to the airport???

Not soon enough!

The limo is suppose to be here at 3:30 so now we're less than an hour. :rainbow:

Congratulations on post #4300! :jumping1:
