Thank you so much!!!
It really will be a special cruise for us. Not only is it our first cruise of any kind, but it is the first trip for DH and I without kids in 15 years! We are celebrating our 20th anniversary (which was in May).
I am sure we will be hooked and want to book a cruise with the kids and my mom after the member cruise!

Thanks for the great welcome!
okwdreamin - sounds like a GREAT vacation. We did the member homecoming in 2004 for our 14th anniversary, it was only 3 days but it was GREAT! :yay:
Can somebody let me know about the block party at PI? Is it certain days?
Is anyone elso go to MNSSHP on the 20th? We are working on costumes for that but haven't heard if we need any dress up gear on the cruise. Does anyone know? Thanks
Chris

Extreme Home Makeover is filming near here. One of John's clients (a home builder) was chosen to build the house. John is working on the team running the wire for low voltage things like phone, cable, intercom & security system. The filming where the volunteers all walk down the street towards the house was done this morning starting at 6:30 AM.

John was suppose to be at the work site at 8 AM tomorrow morning but they called and said he would need to be there at Midnight tonight. Looks like they are ahead of schedule.

The family is a mom and 6 kids, ages 8 months to 12 yrs. The father passed away suddenly last December when the baby was 1 month old. The basement of their house (it's not a full depth basement it's what we call a Michigan basement) was filled with mold. The mom and the 6 kids have had to move out of their house because it's believed (because of toxicoloy reports) that the exposure to the toxic mold is what the husband died from.

Sad, sad story, but next week they will have a new beautiful house to live in.

Extreme Home Makeover is such an awesome show! I wish I could get one for my house but I thank God that my life is happy and my family is healthy so I probably won't qualify.

Whew! This is a chatty bunch. I've gotta bookmark so I know where to catch up with everything. I don't think I will get caught up ever...

It's been busy and all for sure.

I meant to post this earlier, but I got all caught up in posting about drinking and hot guys.

The Mickey Crocs!! How cute are this going to look on my Shrek Feet??

crocs-1.jpg
OMG! Where did you find them? WOW!

I have never been a fan of the crocs (I love my Birkenstock's too much). However, I love the Mickey one's!::MickeyMo I can't wait until they come out!

Good morning and a few comments:

Diana, OMG love those crocs! Gonna have me a pair..YES!

Annmarie, Go Sox at least there will be four of us Sox fans...actually I'm not big on baseball at all but I gotta root for my home team. I'm getting very excited too. I wanted to make one of those fish extender thingys but think I will have to succumb to buying one perhaps.

Marla, We're gonna have a very celebratory table. Me and Dh are celebrating our 25th a yr late but what the heck. We took a "no kids" disney vacation (not cruise) in 97 but as we touched down in Orlando I felt sick and started coughing. I wound up getting whooping cough! For 8 weeks I was down and out. Poor hubby he just wanted some nice time away with me. Our kids were 14 and 11 and we'd never vacationed without them, they were at summer camp so we figured why not. We've never cruised without them and DD is VERY jealous. I owe her a cruise post 18 so she can come in the adult pool, I promised her but her college schedule wouldn't allow for it this time :-(

All first time cruisers your gonna remember this one!

We are staying at SSR post cruise but waitlisted post cruise at BCV but don't think it will happen. Have a great day everyone.

That is so cool!!!!!
I love watching that show, I joke that it's my weekly cry. I'm such a sap and always get teary eyed watching the show. I have always bee a Ty fan since his Trading spaces days since he makes some cool stuff but Paul is my favorite because hi truly loves doing the kids rooms and wears his heart on his sleeve.

Good morning everyone! Very sad events in the world this morning. :sad2:

I was a Birkenstock wearer, I have 3 pairs I pretty much wore all the time. I even wore them all winter with wool socks. I haven't worn them at all since I bought my crocs. :confused3

Very sad, but great news that they stopped them before it was too late.

For some strange reason right before I fly they always raise the terror alert level. I don't know if I should be more at ease because that means they are checking better or more nervous. :sad2:

You are right Diana - the important thing is they did catch them.

Very sad, however, that these idiots are now making something as simple as going on vacation so difficult.

That is a very sad story.

I like to hear when nice things happen to people who need a helping hand.

Yeah, if we can ever get them out of college and they get married and have kids, I could go with them and watch the kids :rotfl2: Better yet maybe I'll do what they did to us on our cruise last December - ran the bar tab up to $600!:scared1:

Are you sure it was the kids? ;) :rotfl:

Diana, me too! I loved my Birkies come summer (no wool socks for me) and couldn't wait to wear them. But, since I've bought the Athen's, they are the only thing on my feet. :thumbsup2

Never in a million years would I think that Crocs were worth the money. Getting over the "ugly" factor, I admit was a big step for me. I don't wear the bright colored ones, I'd rather my feet be a little more neutral.

We were in Dick's Sporting Goods the other night and I toyed with the idea of buying another pair of Athen's as a backup. I'm thinking, it could be hard to find another pair when I need/want them. The one thing I will say is that turning my pair over and comparing them to the pair new in the store, mine already show a lot of wear. I haven't had them all that long, but I'm going to venture to guess I'll be getting a new pair for next summer. My Birkies, OTOH, have lasted me for years.

Me too, die hard Birki wearer, must have 6 prs. I love Takami's best. But I've only worn them once or twice this summer, crocs have taken over mostly but I'm also partial to my merrill slides for work.

I don't even want to think about the terror alert. I'd rather not get myself worked up about something I can't control. As much as I say that, I'll be a nervous wreck. I'm not the best traveler to begin with so adding this is just going to make me more onguard. I just hope Cameron doesn't watch any news today as I'm sure it will be on his mind as well as mine.

We're heading down to Disney tomorrow night. :)

I thought about getting another pair of Athens too, the Navy/Khakis but I'm saving my pennies for the Scutes and Off Roads! I can't wait to get the black/lime scutes!! The one thing I don't like about my Athens is (and this is kind of gross) a lot of gunk builds up in the crevice where the orange meets the white. I throw mine in the dishwasher all the time and they still have that buildup.

I'm sure you'll be fine, like I said it's safer now with the alert higher. Just make sure you check out what you can and can't bring on the plane with you as a carry on so we don't see you and the kids on the news!
