Stacy, have a blast at camp!!!


I'm u early trying to check-in for our 5:30 a.m. flight tomorrow morning. Apparently, when they say 24 hours prior, they mean 24 hours prior. So, I have a couple of minutes to wait.

Then I'm going back to sleep.

Don't know if you'll be checking in before you leave, but have a WONDERFUL time at Hilton Head!!! We'll miss you too!!!

Have a GREAT time at Hilton Head! When we were there for Spring Break we went to the movies at the Mall and they have the BEST popcorn. When you order your popcorn they just hand it to you and don't ask about butter. The reason is if you go to the left of the cash register there is a popcorn condiment bar. You can add butter or different toppings like white cheddar, jalapeno, ranch, etc. etc. We would go there again just for the popcorn!

Across from the resort in the shopping area there is a store that sells pirate t-shirts, etc. DH and I purchased t-shirts and I bought a banner for our door on the ship. I have worn my shirt a couple of times and have gotten a few comments! Too fun!

Thanks, Roxann. We always venture over to Shelter Cove so if this is where the shop is, we'll be on the lookout for it.

The kids would love to go to a movie -- we haven't done that & the topping bar sounds wonderful.

We do the park and ride and Midway. Not sure of the name of the place , it was like 4 blocks away and they have a very timely shuttle. The outer parking lot for the airport itself was not that much more and it too had a very timely shuttle service. We will park if we have a real early flight out of midway or Ohare, or have my dad play driver if we have a later flight.

I'm sure we'll figure it out. We usually use a limo but at a price of $161 each way, we decided that driving and parking was a better option.

DD had another taekwondo graduation this afternoon. WOW! She did great and broke her boards on the first try!!!! She has had a hard time consistently breaking her boards so we were holding our breath. She is a red belt recommended!!! Only three more belt ranks to get her 1st degree black belt. DD has decided to take the next couple of months off. She is burnt out and needs a break. So, we don't start back until the second week of September!! YEAH! I think I need a break from driving her!

Awesome for her!!

Well gang this will be my last post for a week.
Finishing the last of the packing and we'll be off to Boy Scout Camp tomorrow.

If at all possible could you keep it under 50 pages while I'm gone this week!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Like Stacy said, keep the posting down so it's not so tough to catch up. Of course, with me not here, it will be a little quieter.

Last year when we were gone to Hilton Head, the tag fairy made a visit on our thread. I remember coming back to all the chit-chat that went along with that. Maybe she/he will visit again, who knows who might be out there lurking in our small little world of this thread.

I do have a DIS moment to share that I haven't mentioned before now. This past week, with our scare of menigitis (which fortunately, the boy who was sick is now home and it looks like he had a bad virus which was not meningitis). Anyway, I received a PM from someone outside our thread who just happened to click on the wrong cruise meet thread and read my post about our scare. I thought it was nice that she went out of her way to PM me with her experience and help to reassure my fears. So, accidently opening our thread by mistake, brought her into my little world with kind thoughts and good wishes. A great example of how the DIS community works.

Best of luck to everyone booking excursions. I hope you all get what you want. Diana, thanks again for helping us out.

oh, my goodness, no slight taken! I sure didn't mean that! Tongue in Cheek is hard to do in a message, that's where those Smilies come in handy, if only my computer would agree to put them into my messages! Hey, I am looking forward to the cruise again this year!

Actually I worked until 5:30 at Saratoga Springs, so we would have been late anyway! We're going to try to go to the DVC open house this Thursday, though. Gotta get more of those blinking DVC buttons.....did they hand them out? Connie

What is the quickest way to get the DDE card? Just found out ours expired and we need it for our Aug. trip.

Just call them to renew and let them know when you'll be at WDW. If it doesn't make it there, before you leave, they can get you a temporary card that you can pick up at EPCOT Guest Services.

We realized back in May that our DDE had expired, and we were actually already at WDW. We called and told them that we were there already. She said that she would have it to EPCOT GS by 5pm, and I was calling around 9am.

Yep! Shelter cove for the t-shirt.

The place for the movie is the same place the resort takes the kids for Kids Night Out! I can't remember the name off the top of my head but ask a CM and they will know. Have a great trip! I wish I could stow away in your luggage because I LOVE Hilton Head!

Ok so I lied and it would have killed me not to turn the computer on one last time before we leave.

Roxann - congrats to your Daughter. I bet no boys bother her. I know I wouldn't mess around with anyone who could break a board with their bare hands!

Just getting the fur balls ready to got to "Camp Conley" (mom & dad's) while we go play in the woods for a week. See the whole family gets to go to camp!

Thanks for the heads up on getting the DDE card. For us it's a better deal than DDP because I would feel obligated to eat all those yummy big meals.
We do dine out nicely each night but we have breakfast if you could call it that (breakfast bar for me, piece of fruit for dh) in the room and a grab and go lunch wherever. The DDE give us that nice discount at our evening dinner. So even with the initial cost we go enough (usually) that it pays for itself.

Problem with me is that my boss is on vaction so I'm covering my job and hers. So I'll set the alarm for 1:30, hopefully make my reservations and then back to bed for a couple more hours.

Janet - I know what you mean. I was up for a while after making the reservations for our May cruise. Of course everyone was coming back to the meets thread to post what they did or didn't get.
