Things are still broken around here, huh?

Cameron & I are back from Cars. It was okay. Not one of my favorites, but I did enjoy the story line. I was kind of glad that Walker wasn't with us -- I thought it was a long movie for a kid to sit through. We'll see what he says if he goes to see it anytime soon with Gary. I even got to sit with Cameron & his friend so I guess I'm making progress there. :)

Looks like maybe things have been fixed. I've stayed away because I was getting very frustrated! :rotfl:

It actually stopped raining yesterday afternoon for the first time in about 7 days. We've gotten something ridiculous like 8 inches of rain so far this month. Despite the 50 degree cold, we went to the Drive Im last night to see Cars. I loved it and so did Emma who stayed up until the end! I have to admit, I even got a little misty at the end. :lmao: Great movie, and you have to stay to watch the credits, because I think it was some of the funniest parts of the movie. I give it a Thumbs Up! :thumbsup2

woohoo!!! we're about 4 months away from the SSMC06 fun! this will be my first Members Cruise. by any chance is there a scanned posted copy of the 2005 SSMC Navigators somewhere on the web? i know it'll be different, but i'd like to get an idea of what to expect come october!

I don't know about the Navigators, but I just wanted to say Welcome! :welcome:

Good morning

It is a wonderful day in the neighborhood.

I haven't seen the movie yet. I am wondering if I will. DH actually said he thought it might be something he could go see.

Good morning everyone!! We had a busy day yesterday. I've been working on 2 different circle journals for 2 different groups. Plus, we had a birthday party of a friend of Emily's at a local city's rec center. They basically have a mini-water park. It was really cool, because we had it to ourselves.

Anyway, we're getting our first tropical depression of the season here. I woke up to very grey skies and the forcast for LOTS of rain in the next 2 days. It is supposed to make landfall just north of us, which will bring us the westerly winds, which could mean some flooding around here. YUCK!!!

Welcome aboard! We don't have the navigators up but if you click on the Member Cruise logo in my signature that will take you to our 2006 Member Cruise web page. On there you will find some links to the 2003 and 2005 Member cruise which include a trip report with pictures which should help a little.

Hope you will join us here more often and if you want to be included in the gallery and get a button and navigator drop me a line at member2006@monorailgreen.info

Hey Mary -- just popped in to say Hi!! Wish we were joining you on this one, oh well -- maybe next year.

Just adding another :welcome: to the group!!

19 Weeks! WooHoo! It's getting closer every day! lol

I've been MIA for a bit so have a lot to catch up on . . .

IleneF and nanajoyx2 (Elaine) we are also from MA but in Scituate.

Diana - glad your waitlist came through.

Gail - bragging is a right of every mom no matter how old your children/grandchildren are! Congratulations on the good news about Deanna's soccer team. Shawn's college hockey team moved up a division this year and everyone said they wouldn't make it far but they made it all the way to the semi finals!

Robin - don't feel bad about your baby growing up. Wait until you drop them off at college! I promised I wouldn't cry in front of Shawn when we dropped him off but once we hit the road, I cried for 4 of the 6 hours it took to get home! I ran out of kleenex and napkins!

Cindy - great picture of the lion. They really do look like gentle animals! Our local zoo - Stone Zoo has jaguar cubs. I think we need to plan a day trip.

Jeff - thanks for posting the Eat to the Beat concert series. This gives us more reasons to hang out at Epcot.

Diana - as soon as I read Gloria Gaynor I thought of the same song - I Will Survive. My best friend's BF broke up with her when we were in HS and I heard that song over and over again! I wasn't so sure I'd survive! lol

Mary - I love the sketch Ducky did for Garry! He is such a nice person!

Cindy - congratulations on 7,000 posts! I am very shy IRL too. I can get up and speak in front of 250 fellow employees to discuss the budget but put me in a small group setting and I'm the one quietly sitting in the corner.

David - thanks for keeping us informed about member cruise news from DVC. I just signed up.

Carol - I hope things work out and you are still able to cruise with us.

Last week was a bit crazy. It rained all week and we finally have some sunshine today!

Shawn had four of his six (yes SIX) wisdom teeth removed on Thursday. He was given anesthesia to put him out for the surgery and it took longer than anticipated. Originally the surgeon said it would take 45 minutes but an hour and 45 minutes later the nurse came out and said he was finished. I guess one of the teeth was surrounded by nerves and another was side ways and had to be removed in pieces. He also had a large cyst surrounding another one and that had to be removed and sent out to pathology. We'll get the results later this week. The surgeon said the two wisdom teeth he didn't remove were too close to the sinus cavity and hopefull now that the others have been removed, these two will move down. Shawn hasn't been able to eat much - just black and white malts, Lipton Extra Noodle Soup, jello, pudding, etc. Thank goodness for pain medication!

The rest of the day was a blurr - picking up meds, shopping for soft foods, laundry, catching up on some stuff for work and a conference call for work. Before I knew it, it was 10pm and I was exhausted. Friday morning I was up at 6AM, fed the cat and went to take a shower but didn't have any hot water. I woke up Tom to let him know. Tom opened the door to the basement to find 2' of water and everything floating!! It seems we lost power during the night and the sump pump didn't turn back on when the power came back! The water rose above the foot high platforms the water heater and furnace are on. Luckily, they shut off automatically!

Needless to say, there was no way that I could go to work. We had to get the basement pumped out and find out the damage to the furnace and water heater. Our basement is 28' x 72' and it took all day to pump out. Tom was able to get the water heater started and the water level was just below the furnace pump so we didn't lose either of them - thank goodness!

We purchased a dehumidifier to dry out the basement and today we will spend the day getting rid of what was down there. It looks like we lost one window air conditioner, a wet vac and older upright vac too. We store the summer patio furniture, wood for the fireplace and Tom has some tools in his workshop area. The patio furniture is fine and the tools were on shelves so they should be okay.

We are lucky the we never needed the basement for storage. Actually, when Shawn was little he and his friends used to roller blade down there when the weather was bad. A few months ago, Tom was trying to convince me to put all of the exercise equipment down there but I said if it was in the basement I wouldn't use it. I'm glad I said no because the treadmill would've been ruined!

I don't know if I'll be in chat tonight but have a good day everyone!

If Emma liked it, maybe I'm not giving the movie enough credit. Walker's anxious to see Over the Hedge -- I haven't heard him ask about Cars but if he does, I'm sure Gary will take him.

Stay safe, Amy. I always watched the hurricanes and hoped for the best for everyone in their paths. Now that I have friends who actually live in Florida, it's taken on a new level of concern. pixiedust:

It's so nice to have the boards working like normal again! :goodvibes :)

AnnMarie, it sounds like you need some pixiedust: yourself.

What a week! :faint:

I'm glad Shawn is on the mend. Hopefully this will be the last of the surgery and if the remaining teeth move, they won't need to come out as well. I hope the pathological results come in with favorable results.

If there a good thing to a flood, it's that you were there to take care of things as quickly as possible. I'm glad the furnace & hot water heater survived. Good thought to not use your basement for storage -- I bet Tom won't mention moving anything of value down there anytime in the near future. Good luck with the remaining clean up!

Member Gallery Update

First off thanks for everyone's patience while we concentrated on our May cruise. Now that we are done with that the focus is back on the Member Cruise.

I've done a few updates to the Member Gallery.

I've added in updates for TAP & DAP, DuckieLuckey, and IleneF. Sorry for the delay guys! Come and meet them.

I've also added in the deck plans with all the DISers rooms in lime green. This was a big hit on the May Cruise and I'll be adding these deck plans on the back page of the navigator we give out. Let me know what you think.

Amy - stay safe from the storms!

Annmarie - sounds like you have a lot of your plate right now. :grouphug:

Amy - keep us updated as you can and stay safe!

Mary - the update looks wonderful and I love the new feature!

Thanks everyone! Right now, the sun pokes through the clouds on occasion, but the rain is supposed to start in a few hours. For now, I'm headed to Publix and Target to pick up some stuff that I'm completely running out of aruond here. The good part is that we need the rain, so as long as it doesn't come too hard, too fast, we should be ok (crossing my fingers).

Now that we got the pictures uploaded from the cruise I can share with you where we'd like to have DIS meet before the Member Cruise. The Solarium is located right across from the gift shop of the Beach Club. It should be very easy for everyone to get to and looks like it has lots of room for us. We won't have to worry about weather at all. If DVC does plan something for this night we can, of course, change the location. We are thinking about 3pm or so on Saturday night. Then after the meet people can do dinner or Epcot or whatever.
