Have fun on your anniversary WDW trip, Cheryl!!!

I know what you mean about the SSMC05 pictures. We took a lot of pictures, but I still missed SO much!!! I could tell by the CDs of pictures that a bunch of us exchanged.

I agree!

When I called MS earlier today I thought about asking and never did. I need to call again next week so I might ask when we should hear about any pre cruise events, emails, etc. If I find out anything I will post the information.

Hey everyone! It's Friday night, anyone going to cruise chat???

I will probably be there Amy - if I can remember if it's at 8 central or 9 :)

Just got home from dinner and a movie date with my darling husband.

Saw Over The Hedge very cute movie.
I'll be in chat. Julie it is 8 pm Eastern - so about 20 minutes from now.

I had a lot of fun running into people in the early morning. Saw Cindy one morning and Gary the next. Saw Fred up by the drink station. Oh and when I was doing my walk on deck 4 Scott ran past a couple of times. :lmao:

I'm definately much more of a morning person than a night person, we missed out on some fun times in the evening. Just not enough hours to enjoy it all and still get a good nights sleep. :)

Mary - we are the same way. We would get up early for breakfast and go walking but it was rare for us to be awake past 11! I feel like we missed out on a lot of stuff at night. I'll have to take a nap during the day to keep up with some of you!

Welcome back Amy! I thought of you the other day. There was a car in front of me on the highway and the MA license plate was ALYKAT. I started laughing and thinking about the DIS and all of the people I've come to know. It will be fun to finally meet everyone.

Whew. Hi all, my scarcity lately has simply been due to the fact work has been horribly hectic. To give you the short version, land they thought was secure for use, suddenly was not, as it was sold and the new owner immediately put up a construction fence, and it meant some serious rearranging both inside the plant and outside, as we lost the employee parking lot and a driveway we absolutely had to have. It meant cleaning up all at once a lot of things that I had already had plans to take months to do, and now suddenly had weeks, and in some parts, had to be done immediately, most importantly the driveway access, which meant cleaning out and getting rid of two old semi trailers that had been used for standing storage parallel with the old driveway, and fiding a place for everyone to park, in the part of land that was left, which was heavily overgrown with wild plant life. It's finally all done to a point that is good to go, with less than a week till we go away. Now to spend the weekend giving a final once over to packing..

Mark, that sounds like a real pain to deal with. I am glad everything is done and I hope you and Mary have a great vacation!

I went to chat, but no one was there. I had seen that Cindy had logged in and then exited just before I logged in. So I enjoyed a quiet Friday evening all by myself. Deanna is staying with her Aunt & Uncle, Diane is in Canada, Dawn was out with friends watching the game, David is in Texas and John is in Florida. Just me and the dog at home all by ourselves. :rockband:

Gail,

Where in Florida is John? If he's in WDW do you think he would want to meet up somewhere?

I stopped by chat as well but about 12:30 Eastern time. I fell asleep right after dinner, I sometimes get this way on Friday nights. Sorry I missed everyone, I'll try to be in chat Sunday night to make up for missing tonight.

OK, here's what I have been able to find out about this:

DVC has taken a different approach this year to the emails and we should get one big email or a posting on the DVC website as opposed to last year's emails every couple months. They are waiting until all of the entertainment is locked, sealed and put into place. That may take several more months as that could change or we could hear something fairly soon with final updates to entertainment right up until cruise time. If I had to take an educated guess, we will hear something sooner rather than later.

If you're wondering who my sources are, I ask every time I have a minute and pass a booth in a WDW theme park or resort. If the first person doesn't know anything about it they will ask a colleague. Once you get a DVC CM talking they will happily tell you everything they know about future DVC plans/events. The latest rumor I heard regarding resorts was that there could be up to 5 new resorts announced by end of next Spring. I've only heard that from one CM so I am taking it with a grain of salt. If I had to guess, we'll have two resorts announced in that time, one at WDW and the other somewhere in CA near or at DL.

That's the gossip I have heard in the past two weeks about DVC.

Jeff, his client is in Ft. Lauderdale. This time he's only there until Monday night. I wish his client was closer to WDW - I'd go with him and spend my days at the parks.

Jeff, thanks for the info. :wizard: I can understand them not wanting to announce something that isn't going to happen. It's just getting closer and closer and even now, me the non-planner, is wondering when we'll hear something.

I enjoy stopping and talking with the DVC CM's when we have time. After SSMC05, there was on CM we talked to for a long time at Cape May after dinner the night some of us spontaneously met up. We ran into that same man the next day over at AK. When Cameron & I went back the following month, who should we continue to run into but the same CM again. It was like we were following him, when he was truly just on the same rotation as our plans. We never did see him in March.

Only one email!! Do they not realize that some of us will be in the funny farm by then waiting in anticipation?? :lmao:

No, seriously, thanks for your efforts Jeff! Interesting tidbit about new resorts, I'm with you though, I see two being announced in the not so distant future.....DCL and hopefully V at AKL, but most likely Contemporary! Either way, there's a large add-on in our future!

Good morning everyone!

Gail when we went into room 2 at about 8:30 central we could see you had logged in (but we were still in the main room at that time I think) so I sent you a pm but you were offline by then. Hope you enjoyed your quiet evening alone.

Jeff - thanks for the info. I do hope it comes sooner than later because you know us DISers like to plan things. :lmao:

Speaking of planning. For those of you in the area Mark and I will be at WDW on June 3rd and 4th. We'd love to meet up if possible. I know Amy said in chat that her family may be able to come over. Since we have only the two days (and Saturday will be a short day as we get off the ship that morning) we only have two - maybe three objectives. 1) Epcot for the Flower & Garden show (and later Illuminations), 2) AK for Expedition Everest and 3) MGM as it seems they now have some displays for Cars over there. So if anyone wants to get together let me know. We're staying at Boardwalk and haven't made any dining plans at all.

I want to come!

Those of you who do meet up, have a great time!

We'll miss you by one week! We will be arriving on June 11 for a mini vacation before Dana starts her professional internship. She moves into her apartment on June 14 and I'm flying back home on the 16th. We used up almost all our points for this year (there's 3 left) and I didn't want to borrow since who knows what will come up for next year, so we're staying off property. It's probably just as well that it worked out this way though. Since she'll be down there for 6 months, I feel like this needs to be a "family" time. Can't wait to see you guys again in October!

Me too!!

Ugh, I've already had a crazy day. For the first time since January, I slept late and missed my step class. I feel like the biggest slacker on the planet now.

Now I'll have to find an hour to work out today, but I have a crazy day scheduled. We have a birthday party at 11 til 1:30 and then I wanted to go get my veggie plants if the rain holds off. Then we have a bunch of other shopping errands to do and I promised Emma if it's not raining tonight we can go see Over the Hedge at the drive in.

A few of you in chat last night asked for me to let you know when there's a new swap over on the Creative Community board that doesn't require you to make something. There's a 39 cent swap open right now. This is a really easy "get rid of your stuff" swap. Usually most people get carried away and break the 39 cent rule but you just put some stuff you have lying around (brads, eyelets, ribbons, stickers) in an envelope and mail it to your buddy. Last time I got some really cute stuff. Here's the thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1116308 it's a great newbie swap!
