HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I'm still catching up from a while ago on the thread. A former co-worker was down with her family staying at BWV on points I rented to them. I met them at the Polynesian yesterday and watched Wishes from the Tambu Lounge. It was nice as they pipe the music into the lounge and you get a great view of Cinderella castle.

Update on the Yachtsman Steakhouse dinner: I haven't called Tanya yet but will tomorrow. It looks like more people can make Sunday night. I'll ask her about Saturday night and see what she says.

We did training thursday night on propane tank fires. In the dark and rain the pics came out rather interesting. Thought you all might like to see some of the fun things we get to do.

Looks very scary to me. :firefight :firefight :firefight But, they are some cool pictures. :cool1:

I agree with Cindy - the pictures are cool, but scary.

Steve - thanks to you and all your fellow firefighters for doing a very special job!

I missed chat last night. The kids and I were camped out watching TV. A rarity for all of us to do at one time. A long & lazy type of day for me - it's still dreary & chilly out today. Where did spring go? :confused3 :confused3

Walker's off on a field trip today. Their class is getting on the train at the station close by our house, riding it out west to the end of the line and then riding it back. No plans to get off, just an outing for his class. I'm sure the kids are going to have fun. Only 5 more days including today and it's graduation for him. :sad1: We'll be done with the school which will be strange. I've been there multiple times a week for the last 4 years (one year I was even lucky enough to drive there 5 days a week -- Amy & Diana, your days are coming to do that!) I can't believe that my little boy is going off to 1st grade come fall much less my oldest is off to 6th grade. Time sure does go fast. :sad2:

I'm hoping to see some of this today :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: but I'm not optomistic it's going to appear. Anyway, have a great day, everyone!

Wow I can't believe school is that close to the last day!
Nick's last day is June 22nd with his "Moving Up" day on the 21st. They will be having there year end field trip on June 13th to Camp Chingachgook (sorry for mentioning it Diana). I know how you feel about the kids getting older. I can't believe that Thurday night we have a parents orientation at the middle school to go to. My little boy is getting older

Steve - Those are some cool pictures. You need to get that Harley Davidson flame scrapbook paper and do a scrap page!

Good Morning all! Mothers Day was a lazy day for me also. We went grocery shopping and then had a bbq. Thats about all. Glad to hear most had an enjoyable day. Sorry about not making it to chat, I ended up at my friends house relaxing and hanging out.

Steve, Those pics are nice, but scary also!

Hope the :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: comes out soon! I can't take the gloomy rain anymore. I want :sunny: and warm.

Stacy, middle school is 6th grade for Nick? Ours is only 7th & 8th here.

What is "moving up" day??

Well, it's stopped raining here--for now. The forecast still shows rain for the afternoon, tomorrow and the whole rest of the week. :sad2: I'm going to start building an arc when the girls take their nap today! :lmao:

The movie yesterday was great. The curling scene was adorable! If you ask Emma about it the first thing she says is --- we had popcorn and it was good. :lmao: She pretty much talked the entire time, luckily the theater was very crowded with other kids talking and the plot line of the movie wasn't hard to follow. :lmao:

I forgot to tell you guys this though! On Saturday, I got my mail and in it was 4 tickets to go see a taping of "The View" in NYC!! :cool1:  I'm gonna be on TV!!! I'm so excited!! It's not going to be a live broadcast episode, it's one they tape to run at a later time when they are on vacation or whatever, but still!! So on the 25th, I'll be heading back home!!

Yep 6th grade is middle school here. His Elementary School career is coming to an end. Middle School is 6, 7, & 8th grades here.
"Moving Up" day is there graduation since he will be going to a different school come September and getting bussed to the campus.
You see the school district we are in is kind of uniquie.
There are 7 elementary schools (3 which are off campus), 3 middle schools, and 2 bldgs for the high school. The school covers a very large area and is very big. There is even a State Trooper who is assigned to just the school since there is like over 10,000 students between all the schools.
He goes to Shenendehowa Central School here in Clifton Park.
Check out their website. http://www.shenet.org/
I almost forgot they are building another elementary school to handle all the expected students.

Sounds like you had a good day! Glad everything turned out so good at the movies!
That's very cool about getting "The View" tickets. I always thought/wanted to do something like that! I'll have to make sure to set the dvr for the show that day so I can look for you!

Yes, Diana!! Please let us know when the show will be broadcast!! I ususally don't watch "The View" but I'll be sure to set my Tivo to record it if I know when it will be shown. :thumbsup2

Very cool! Let me know when it's scheduled to air and I'll set our "VCR" --- no TIVO or DVR for us -- just plain old VCR to record on. But, it does work. I guess not being a big TV person, it's never been a priority and would just afford the rest of my family to watch even more TV.

Diana, how does that work. I imagine you get to select the friends to go with you? I don't watch The View -- it is more like a late night talk show with several topics or is it more along the lines of Oprah where it's a topic of the day type thing?

Ooohhh nice fireman pics! I like the idea of the flame paper for a scrapbook too.

Diana Lyn that sounds like a great time will be had to get to be part of that taping. I hope it is.

Sorry about all you Moms feeling older as the kids are going through their school things. It is a fast track for sure. I know you are all enjoying every moment.

Sorry to those who had some difficulty and sadness remembering. I hope that soon the sadness will turn to joy as you remember all the good things shared and also know that they are in a better place watching over you.

Rain all day here.

Diana - congrats on getting tickets to see The View. I've caught it a few times and have usually enjoyed it. Enjoy!

Oh cool Diana - I'm sure you will have a good time attending the taping of The View. Keep us posted when it will be so we can watch for you.

There was a local morning talk show that aired here in Detroit (early 1980's)called Kelly & Company that we use to go to all the time. It was alot of fun!

Diana, Congrats on the View tickets.

Squid, Cool pictures.

Yachtsman update: Tanya is on vacation and will be back Thursday so I'll know more then. Would anyone rather the dinner be Saturday after the cruise, 10/28? For those who said yes or maybe what day would you prefer?

Good morning everyone! Boy, is it quiet around here? It was easy for me to catch up. I've been busy with my brother and his family in town. We're heading to WDW tomorrow for 2 days. My nephew is so adorable, and the girls just love him. Every time my brother leaves the house, they ask "where's baby Caleb?", "when is he coming back?". I think that they are going to be very sad on Friday when they leave.

I've also been working on circle journals for a CKU group that I'm in. We're almost finished, and they got a little behind, so I have 2 to get done ASAP and get them in the mail. One I worked on yesterday, which was about my hometown. I just found a bunch of brochures of the city and attractions and cut them all up to use. It was pretty easy. The one that I need to work on today is about what I want to accomplish in the next 25 years. That is definitely a thought-provoking subject. But, as we all know, I'll be vacationing with Disney for the next 25 years, that's for sure.

Well, into the shower I go, so that I can get the girls up and ready for today. Chris was up all night working on his grant, so I'm sure that he's going to sleep as long as he can before heading to work.

It's supposed to be rainy today, but I'm ok with that, since we REALLY need it!!

And Diana - congrats on the View tickets. I like watching them, when I have the time.

Good morning everyone!

Amy - so happy to hear you are enjoying your time with your brother and his family. Enjoy your time at WDW!

I'm packing up the box today for our May cruise. I filled the large canvas DVC bag we got on SSMC05 with all the packets I made for our fellow cruisers (DIS navigator, buttons, and small magnet). Sending it down to a fellow DISer who lives near Daytona. He'll bring it to our DIS meet Friday night before we sail. It will be easier for SSMC06 since we'll be driving down. :)

Good Morning all!! :surfweb:
Well we are supposed to have more rain today and possible thunder. I guess the only good thing is my plants are getting plenty of water, but so is the grass which really needs to be cut but it's been so wet so that hasn't been done.
Nick had his band concert last night. They did pretty darn good. It was a cute concert, first the orchestra played, then the band, then the choir came out and did a few songs. I'll post a picture once I download it off the camera.
TTFN :wave2:

Morning. More of these today yet again! :umbrella: :umbrella:

Unlike Stacy, our flowers and veggies haven't even been planted yet. At this rate, it won't get done anytime soon.

We'll see if the boys have soccer or baseball tonight. Both are scheduled. Walker with a practice, Cameron with a game. Neither played Saturday (rained out) and Walker didn't have his Friday night practice (rained out again). One of these weeks, we're going to get hit hard with makeups.

Cameron's getting ready to go camping this weekend with Boy Scouts. I'm so glad he crossed over and is enjoying the program. Even Walker's thinking that he's a Boy Scout and wants to skip the Cub Scout program and he right off to Boy Scouts. I wonder, will anyone notice the 3' new scout who joined their Troop? :rotfl2: I must have heard him say over the last couple of days 20 times he wishes he was a Weblo2 so he could go onto Boy Scouts. Soon, my son, soon! Let's not rush these years any more than they are already going by! :sad1:

I hope everyone has a great day. We're off to the next town over to a play center which has a pretend grocery store in it. The kids love shopping for their groceries. It's cute but messy yet the kids are always willing to "restock" the shelves. Then a trip to McDonald's before nap time -- I'm sure they will all be excited about that.
