Good morning Member Cruisers
- we sail in 26 weeks!

Woo Hoo ! We are another week closer to cruising!

Good morning! :surfweb:

It looks like another fantastic day in our neck of the woods. Lots of :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: .

A great day to tackle cleaning out the garage -- I can't wait for Gary & Cameron to get home from camping to do that! It's such a mess and it seems like one of those perpetual problems that never is finished. I did a little yesterday but Walker had a friend over and they wanted to be inside. A 5 & 6 year old alone in the house is not my idea of supervision so it forced me to come inside too. Then, they took over the big screen TV playing Playstation. It left me with the computer and for the first time in a very long time, I went to a lot of the other DIS forums. Without Gary & Cameron home and Walker entertained, I was so bored, I could have pulled my hair out. I even chose to deep clean the daycare room. Diana, I think your rubbing off on me. :sad2: We all went to bed early -- they boys fell asleep by 9:15. I followed shortly after.

I'm hoping they are heading home early so I can meet a friend for lunch. I haven't heard anything yet, I'll keep you posted when I do, Mary. :teeth:

26 weeks --- isn't that like 1/2 of a year? :jumping1:

Cindy,

It has to be either Diana or the spring weather that is the motivation to cleaning. I am going through the same thing. Going to attack my Pooh room - also the grandkids playroom - today. Was over at my daughters last evening and she was cleaning out the kids closets. (See its not just us.) Got some clothes and toys for ebay from her.

Any curlers in with those toys? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Gosh, I hope this cleaning sickness is a short virus. ;)

Hope you can make it Cindy! Stacy I need to say thank you. When I signed up at Red Robin I got a belated birthday burger coupon even though my birthday was last month! Nice. So I asked Cindy if she can join me. :)

Cindy - to answer your other question. Yes - yeterday was the 6 month mark to cruise date! YEAH!

I wish I had some of those curlers. Could really help my level of spending money for our trip to Disneyland.

My daughter was just bagging the toys up to give to Goodwill or whatever. When I told her I would take them, she said you don't want toys do you???? I said you bet, you should see what Cindy gets for these toys :rotfl2: Guess I will need to get my daughter to WDW in October so she can put faces to all the names I throw at her from the board. I am always relaying the kids stories so she is well aware of you, Amy and Diana.

Which is my motivation to get the garage under control. Who knows what other treasures are out there just waiting to be had. :lmao:

I have to say, I'd never sell anything the kids in the daycare really play with. But, I have SO much that they don't play with and multiples at that. I went through a time where I thought I should have at least 6 of the same thing so that everyone could have their own "whatever" it was that we were playing. And, I've never gotten rid of anything from when Cameron was little and it seems like those are the more pricy ebay items. Not that the curlers were his, they were actually mine that I bought for the girls in my daycare, but then they became missles for the boys, and went back out to the garage. I've found that little girls love to play dress up -- but not so much into beauty shop. And, I'm no longer a big fan of anyone putting anything into their hair -- curlers, barrettes, ribbons, headbands. The less sharing of those items, the better.

Mary, I just talked to Gary. They are breaking down camp and he'll call when they are on the road. It took about 2 hours to get there so I'll keep you posted. :teeth:

My youngest son just moved into his own house and we unloaded our attic of ALL his stuff. When he was unpacking the boxes he came across 2 big boxes of Micro machines that he had been saving. Again, he was just going to give them away. I took them and still have to go through them and see if there is anything worth selling.

My oldest son keeps reminding me of how I sold all his Star Wars toys at a garage sale for dirt cheap. Oh well, live and learn. I did sell a lot of my own stuff at a garage sale before we moved a year ago. Now I look back and think how much more I could have gotten on ebay instead of the giving it away prices at a garage sale. But at the time I never imagined messing with ebay.

Mary, six months till the cruise seems so far away. Think I like the weeks better. They change faster than the months!

I'm really glad my super human cleaning powers are rubbing off on you guys! :cool1: I only wish your :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: would come my way, because it's been raining here nonstop since yesterday morning and it's supposed to rain straight through Tuesday. So, I'm going to spend the day building an arc. :rotfl: No, the garage needs some super spring cleaning, so that's my task of the day. I won't touch most of the stuff in there :scared: for fear there will be something alive, or worse dead near it, but I can supervise Bruce the Shark really well! :rotfl2:

I had such big plans for the yard this weekend and they got washed away. :sad2: I was so looking forward to cleaning out the pond and getting that up and running because we get a ton of frogs that come and take up residency there and I know the girls are going to love it this year.

Diana,

I would be glad to exchange some sun for rain. I wouldn't normally volunteer our sunny days, but we are desperate for rain. Had a little yesterday afternoon, but we are seriously behind on rain fall. Getting close to serious fire danger. We have several hundred acres of undeveloped land behind our house and if a fire should start there it wouldn't be nice. Lots of dry, dry, dry vegatation.
I understand where you are coming from about just surpervising garage cleaning, too many critters can get into those places you can't see.

When we first moved into our house, Gary was cleaning up the garage and found a deer leg underneath the workbench out there.   We later heard from neighbors about the slaughtering that went on inside our garage and apparently they missed cleaning up all the pieces.

I took it to work, wrapped nicely in a box by Gary -- not me :scared:, for a co-worker to give to his FIL as a gag Christmas gift. :teeth:

My kids love to catch frogs out at my SIL. Sad for them, this year they are in the process of restocking their pond. Last winter, it got cold much to quickly and all of their little creatures died. There were some huge frogs in there -- it was so cool to see them rise to the surface and steer us down. :lmao:

OMG, I would have moved!! :faint:

There's only one thing that was ever found in my garage and it was last summer. My cat (who has always been an indoor cat) got into the garage one day and I guess I didn't realize it. I let him in hours later and didn't think much of it. The next day, I found a little dead present in my shoe. :scared1: Needless to say, ever since that day I always check my shoes before I slip my feet in. :lmao: (The shoes with the mouse went straight to the trash) Alex still tries to sneak out to the garage any chance he can get.

It's a good thing Gary found it and I didn't or we would have moved. :lmao:

Our dog finds rabbits most springs. I just found a nest the other day that Gary took apart. You would think having a dog, the rabbits would be smart enough to keep out of our yard. Tony finds the rabbits and brings them to the back door -- I guess for me to take care of. He never hurts them, just brings them to me probably when the mother is out looking for something to eat. The first time, I thought it was a mouse but then there were 3 of them, so I knew it wasn't possible. They are so small.

Mickey's little friends were taunting me last summer by running around on the driveway. The exterminator took care of them. :teeth:

A year ago when we were in the process of moving out of our last house, I had just come out the front door and was talking with a neighbor. I heard this plop noise behind me, but didn't react to it. My neighbor was looking in that direction and said, "What was that?" We looked around and it was a small snake that had fallen off the ledge over my front door. I about passed out since I had just come out that door and the stupid thing could have fallen on me. I have a love hate relationship with snakes. I love to hate them. My neighbor knew this and went to get his shovel to rid the snake from my yard. I had to get to the front door because I had left it open and surely didn't want that creature in my house. That is one of the down falls about Florida too many weird creatures like snakes and lizards. I know most will not hurt me, but they move faster than I do, so that bothers me.

Good morning all. Whew, what a busy week. David, Ian and I drove back from S.A. last Sunday but there's just been so much going on that I haven't even had a chance to sit down at the computer til now. (David and Ian are gone for a few hours.)

Not liking this critters discussion too much. Makes me remember the baby birds and cat sized rat we just had removed from our attic. :scared: Rodents, snakes, bugs - you can bet I WON'T be letting Ian have any of those around. Hate them all. But the worst is the lizards that get squished in the door. Those just terrify me for some reason. When I was living in Tucson there was a lizard that was severed in half an my door. The head and front legs were attached to the front looking like it was alive, the back was squished in the door jam. When I discovered it I hid at the back of my apartment and waited for a friend to come remove it for me. I know it's nuts but that just freaks me out. (Right now I know we have a little lizard squished in the back door so I won't open it. David MUST remove it first!)
