The Easter Bunny is known to bring any or all of the above;(toys, movies,cd's ,tickets to a play and games for what ever system at the time .) Candy is always part of the basket. ;)

Diana, what the heck, you don't eat anything that is white? Do you drink milk?

Ewww....NO MILK!!! :crazy2: Up until the point where I had kids, I couldn't even touch milk. Like I worked in a grocery store and when the milk leaked on my scanner, I would gag and pull my sleeve over my hand to touch the container. Now I can touch it but very quickly and I still heave a bit when the girls spill milk on the floor and I need to clean it up.

I also don't eat mayo, cream cheese, sour cream, eggs (unless they are scrambled, then they are yellow).....pretty much all white things.

I've had fun tonight guys! Thanks for the entertainment! LOST is on now, so I gotta run. I LIVE for Wednesday nights!! :cool1:

Cindy,I love your picture of the boys!

Thanks, Chris. :)

I really have to thank Gail for the idea. I never thought to use the one from the cruise in my signature. And, with the help of Mary resizing it, it was able to fit.

I am so looking forward to the 2006 edition!! :cool1:

I guess that takes care of ranch & ceasar salad dressing too. Those are staples in our house.

I can't stand milk either and forced myself to drink it when I was pregnant.

Anyone watching Idol?

The only thing that keeps popping into my head is a twisted version of a South Park line..

"The surgeons killed Kenny! You ____!"

He looks just plain horrible, WAY too much plastic in that face...

Mark - I agree... Thank goodness plastic does not effect his voice....

party: Happy Birthday Cheryl party:

Note to self : Next time I have dinner with Diana I should order a WHITE Russian to drink, ask for plenty of WHITE bread for the table, and Maybe get some Fettucini Alfredo, you know the pasta with the WHITE cheese sauce!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

I see dear old Chris was here causing some trouble! :stir:
All that talk about fruitcake just make me thing of this old lady that lived by my grandma that made them every holiday and gave them to the neighbors. I never touched them because that lady freightened me a bit when I was little. I think every little kid has some kooky memory like that.

Here's a question for everyone, totally not cruise related.....it's about the Easter Bunny. Does the bunny bring toys in your kids baskets along with the candy or just a whole basket of candy?

Bruce thinks I'm insane because I just had to go Easter shopping last night. We got into this huge thing about how it's not Christmas and there aren't supposed to be presents. I always got little toys in my Easter basket--strawberry shortcakes, care bears, my little ponies....stuff like that along with the standard coconut cream crosses and peanut butter eggs. He told me all he ever got was one chocolate bunny. :confused3

Growing up we always got small toys - jump ropes, chalk, jacks etc... and then the rest was candy. My kids have never been candy eaters  so I always have bought them gifts for their baskets. Now they ask for gas cards and grocery store gift certificates. Going to John's parents house for Easter, you would think it was Christmas.

Stacy! I wanted to thank you for the call yesterday. What a nice way to brighten my night. Sorry I cut it short -- daycare meeting called. Fortunately, Walker didn't cry when I walked out, but he did stay up waiting for me to get home until almost 10 p.m. And, today was a school day -- but no fear, he was up at 6.

I'm glad Cameron & Nick had a chance to catch up too! :cool1: Cameron's eyes lite up when I told him Nick was planning on parasailing!! :cool1: :cool1:

Chris - I said earlier that the older fruitcake gets the more bitter it gets. Just not worth it.

That little pasty that Ian was wearing looks much yummier.

Like I said I'm a big fan of the creme brulee and since I won't be at the creme brulee table this cruise I'm hoping Steve & Gail will take pity on me and send some my way. :)

Fruitcake is bad enough, but old fruitcake - Yuck, Yuck! Just plain ole bitter.

Send you some creme brulee???? We ate your creme brulee the night you left dinner early - I think it was the night you went to Palo w/Jim Lewis.

It's a balmy 80 degrees here in Wichita and tomorrow I have to go back home where it also snowed today

We have a cat 5 reserved until Friday for the first repo cruise, but I doubt we'll keep it. We had promised the kids a trip to WDW in May or June 2007 and I always keep my promises. And don't even suggest taking them on the cruise with us. Two weeks out of school? I'm not paying all that money for two college educations so that they can have fun :rotfl:

80 degrees - oh, I miss that from last week. We have another month of crazy weather it could be anywhere from 30 - 70. Snow, ice or sunshine. I'm really getting too old for this cold stuff, but I can't talk John into moving to Florida just yet - something about a job :confused3

Then you're living in the wrong neighborhood, Robin. Where I live, families trade Shaloch Manot baskets on Purim filled with all sorts of goodies, aside from the traditional humantaschen.
Oh yes, Purim is a great holiday with lots of great treats. And if you're really into it - and of age - you're supposed to get so blasted that you praise Haman (the bad guy) and curse Mordechai (the good guy).

But Passover, though an enjoyable holiday filled with traditions, is rather limiting when it comes to food. No bread, no rice, no pasta. Everything has to be specially prepared. We go so far as to change out all our dishes, pots & pans, utensils, china, etc. Yup, we have a special set of china and silver we use just two nights a year, and everyday dishes used just for one week of the year. After a week of hard boiled eggs and gefilte fish (similar to meat balls but made with fish) and matza, well just about anything else sounds delicious. Don't get me wrong, we have some great Passover recipes. And we make from-scratch brownies that are out of this world. But when you know you can't have something, you just want it even more.

Roxann - sorry you didn't get an Easter Basket but just think without all that chcolate your face probably didn't break out from eating to much?!! :confused3 :thumbsup2

That was Robin. We got Easter Baskets every year!

DD's Easter Basket always has a little candy, disney dollars and used to get a stuffed animal. Now it is a movie, game boy game or gift card.

But, how would I know what a hamantashen is? I'll stay stay away from eating anything black.
Hamantashen is a tri-cornered/triangular cookie often holding sweet fillings of honey-poppy seed, prune or apricot. They're one of the traditional sweets of Purim, a festive Jewish holiday.

These are Hamantashen:
hamantashen.jpg

There are many recipes for Hamantashen, but here's an easy one I learned when I was in college.

Easy Hamentashen
Pre-heat oven to 375o
1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
1 Cup Flour
2 Eggs
3 Tbs Water
1 Can Fruit Filling (for pastries, ie: Solo brand)

Mix all ingredients (except fruit filling) together to make a slightly sticky dough
Add additional flour as necessary
Roll to 1/8 inch thick
Cut into circles
Spoon fruit filling in center of circle
Fold up three sides and pinch corners together
Bake on cookie sheet 15-20 minutes or until lightly brown
