We found a new restaurant last summer -- the Sea Shack. It's the one Rachel Ray did a review on not long ago. It's kind of hard to find and definately a place for the local people on HH to visit. If you ask at the resort, they'll give you directions, it kind of tucked back off the main strip. Well worth the trip.

We love to rent bikes and go riding all over. Walker has been riding to and from the beach for 2 years now. In fact, one year we were out there and a sand storm kicked up so we couldn't ride back - I had the car so we left the bikes and drove back. Walker was very upset..he still wanted to ride the bike, sand and all.

The kids love to crab fish off the pier. One year, Cameron caught a Diamondback Turtle off the pier. Very cool to see, but was the turtle mad to come out of the water. :scared:

We love to go on the beach combing tour out to Dufuski Island with Scott from Low Country Nature Tours. Scott's the one who does the tours through Disney. While more pricey than the bigger boats, it's definately one on one service and a small group experience. If you decide to do a tour with him, tell Scott that you know me from the DIS boards. Scott doesn't post here (apparently he can't?) but he does know that I'm a big fan of his and I post here. I hear he's working on a revamp of his website -- who knows what pictures he might end up with out there. :teeth: I have it on pretty good authority that it might be someone we know. ;)

We also started doing shark fishing with him. Another awesome experience!!! Again, pricy, but to us, well worth the money.

The strangest thing we find is that I like to cook in our villa. It's not something I look forward to doing at home, but there, I actually enjoy it. With the kids, we find it's easier than going back, showering, changing, heading out to dinner, waiting for a table and then getting back and the kids want to swim again. So, by the time we do all that, I find I can cook dinner and it's more relaxing to us.

We love to do any events B'Lou Crabbe does. His magic show is terrific and we love his stories.

We also enjoy going over to Shelter Cove to see Shannon Tanner. I'm not sure what his show schedule is but we've seen him the last several years. I think Gary (my DH) enjoys the show more than the kids. Shannon sings many songs from way back when we were younger.

Have a wonderful time, I know you will!!! :cheer2:

Thanks for some new ideas! We just love to kick back and relax. Hilton Head is such a different vacation than WDW.

We have not tried Vero yet, but I would like to. Anyone annual Vero Vacationers? Any good ideas and insights to the area?

We are all packed and ready to go. Have to pick up the girls from school in one hour and off to the airport. I hope everyone has a great week. I can't believe that it is supposed to be 80. I can't wait.

I loved Lost last night. I had to stop packing to watch it and it was worth it. :flower:

THIS IS IMPORTANT!

I just got my Disney Visa bill. I had charged the Member Cruise on my Disney Visa because there was no interest for 6 months and I also got Disney Dollars. When the bill came I was being charged 14%. I called Disney Visa in Orlando. They verified that I should not have been charged interest and will remove the charge.

If you charged your cruise, check your bill.

Have a Duckie Day

Thanks! I'm on the phone with them now. I'll let you know what she says when she comes back...

Not good. She said that because it was booked through DVC, it doesn't qualify. :confused3 Needless to say I'm not very happy.

She said she'd send it to someone else for a review and I'd hear in writing in 7 to 10 days what they decided. :(

Did anyone else here book the cruise with their Disney Visa and get charged the interest???

We haven't tried Vero either. We only tried Hilton Head to use up points the year we bought. Three add-ons later, we have almost as many points at HH as we do at WDW.

I'm afraid to try Vero. :scared:

I don't recall exactly who (maybe chipscinderelly - Julie????) went through this also and was able to change the finance charge. I would say maybe you should call back and ask them to revisit the issue rather than waiting the 7-10 days. I know others on this thread have posted differently.

Good luck. I wouldn't be happy either.

Does any of this help??? I found these in this thread by doing a search on Visa.

Boy, am I stupid. I went back many pages on here and found the posts about the Disney Visa. I misunderstood what the offer was re DCL. I thought I would not be billed for 6 months(I don't know why I thought this). Apparently the offer is 0% interest for 6 months. I will call Customer Service on Monday.

This is from my online statement. I will post what my Chase letter said in the morning. When I called I explained that on 12-3-05 there was a charge from DVC for $645. The charge was for a special charter cruise through DCL. I had more than 1 Visa rep. say that if the charge was for DCL it would qualify for 0% for 6 months. :confused3

Thanks to Cheryl making the reservation, I think we have a plan as to our mini-meet in March.

Thanks for doing the leg work, Cheryl.

And, thanks to everyone for being accommodating and working together. This was actually very, very easy and as I'm sure we all know, that's not always the case when many people are trying to agree on something.

But then again, we are a great group! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Now, we just have to wait for March. :hourglass

So are you going to share with the rest of us what you'll all be doing? We want to know what to be envious of. :)

We are going to a very quiet restaurant in WL named whispering canyon.

They are surely going to be suprised when they meet us :teeth:

Okay, this is crazy.

It's a beautiful day here in Chicagoland. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: The sun is shining and it's very mild outside. We spent the morning playing in the yard as if it's a spring day. And, that's where we're going when the kids wake up.

But......I just got a email from one of the local TV stations......a winter storm watch is in effect for tomorrow night. Rain, turning into snow, accumulating 4-8".

No wonder people get sick.

We sure have enough of that in our household. Cameron's been home all week. After we went to the zoo on Sunday, he started running a fever and complaining of a sore throat. I thought he had strep so I took him in for the throat culture Monday, negative. Tuesday, Gary took him back at lunchtime for another one, negative again. Tuesday night I took him to the treatment center, they diagnosed swimmers ear (from Saturday night, I guess) and gave us drops. Cameron still didn't feel good so today he's still home and Gary took him back to the pediatrician at lunchtime. Now they say he has fluid in his ears and a sinus thing going on. I'm sure by tomorrow the antibiotics will have kicked in and he'll be back in school.

As if that's not enough, Walker is still having problems with his ears. Gary took him into the Ear, Nose, Throat doctor Monday evening. The doctor suctioned all the gunk out of his ears and he'll go back in two weeks. They are going to look at taking his adnoids out in the hopes of preventing these ear problems from continuing. Cameron had his out when he was 3, no big deal, but Walker is a couple of years older and I wonder if the recovery will also be a breeze?

I know with the storm coming in our weather is changing drastically. I'm sure we're all going to be sick again. :(

Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in about the circle journal. The middle of the month is actually the busiest time for me, but since I seem to be in the minority, I'll go with the flow. Just have to get everything done sooner. I DID find a scrapbook to use yesterday. I may have to drag out DD's high school scrapbook (it was her junior project) for some ideas, but I do have a theme in mind.

Hi everyone
I havent posted in so long.
I just seem to have a case of the doldrums.
Its not even that cold here in Memphis, but I cant seem to shake it.
I do have a WDW tip coming up next month.
My friend and I are staying at SSR Feb 12-17
My kids are still having a few health issues and I have new car fever....
BUT I cant afford one yet..
I just had to pay almost 600 to get mine fixed again.
When I took my key out of the ignation the car was still running
The part only cost 12. but the bill was almost 600... GRR
I will try and keep current from this day forward
