2006 Discount Disappointment

I have been waiting for the 2006 MYW discount to be released and now that it is out I am not too impressed. Am I missing something the only thing they are offering is free park hopper and plus options for our tickets. That does not seem to be that great of a savings or am I overlooking something?

We were not planning on getting the plus option but were going to get the hopper and the no exp tickets but no I have to rethink our plan. So now I guess the only option I have to pay for is the non exp option.

Anyone else expect something bigger for the start of the year promotion. What about a hotel discount or something?

The code and rates board had a few posts/rumors on a possible upcoming public pin. I think it may be for rooms only. Touringplans.com also has speculation that a new code will be coming out possibly this Thursday for 06.

*2006 MAGIC YOUR WAY DISCOUNT*
The first discounts for 2006 Magic Your Way packages are out. While this is being promoted as a Disney Visa package, it's not required for booking.

This package includes Magic Your Way admission with both Park Hopping and Magic Plus Options. You'll be able to park hop and visit the Water Parks, Disney Quest, Pleasure Island and/or Wide World of Sports.

Travel Dates: 1/1/06 - 3/8/06

Blackout Dates: 1/13/06 - 1/15/06

Booking Dates: 11/1/06 - 12/18/06

Note that the dates span "Seasons." Your discount will vary according the the travel dates you choose.

It is hoppers & plus, but also a small discount on the overall price. Discount saved me $40 over my AAA discount. Doesn't seem like much, but my package was already discounted $186, so now it's discounted $226+ the cost of plus pack, as we didn't have that before.

So you have to book a package (room + tickets) in order to get the discount, right? This stinks, because we will be staying our first seven nights at a time share off site and then our last three nights on site, so we can't book a package because we would need our park tickets seven days in advance! Oh well...
