Okay now that the 2005 "Secret" dates have been released and are selling at a brisk pace when will 2006 summer dates be released??? I am not one who is willing to fly to the west coast and cruise to Mexico especially without CC. We pushed back our plans for a fourth DC to 2006 and would like to reserve our dates.

There is rumor (and only rumor) that the Magic may come back out West for the summer of 2006 as well. - Mike

I READ that rumor that Jim Hill printed, I just can not believe that Disney would abandon the 7 day cruise east coast summer market two years in a row.

I understand - but a lot of people also refused to believe that it was coming out here for one year. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Waiting is the hardest part. - Mike

I would like to cruise Feb/Mar of '06. Do you think that there will be a delay for releasing these dates as well?

Maybe this time they can work out the Wonder doing a combination of 3, 4 and 7 day cruises ... not like they have to keep the Magic itineraries some big secret for an announcement in DL for summer 2006 ;) ... so they can release the Wonder AND Magic summer 2006 itineraries at the same time, meaning they can "tweak" the Wonder sailings to offer some 7 day eastern/western cruises if we do get to "borrow" the Magic again for one more summer (whilst a 3rd ship gets built).

DCL said this was just going to happen this summer as it was for the 50th anniversary @ DL.

But since the DL 50th celebration actually lasts til the end of 2006 ... they can decide to do this again in summer 2006 if the summer 2005 sailings prove to be a huge success for them.

What I'd really love to see in summer 2006 is DCL sailings out of Seattle for Alaska. :teeth: Wishful dreamin' on my part (don't think the Magic or Wonder are built to handle an Alaskan cruise).

Yes. "The Happiest Celebration on Earth" (Disneyland's 50th anniversary event) will run for 18 months beginnning in May 2005, so the event includes summer 2006.

The Disney Magic does not have some of the features of some of the newest and best ships in the Alaska market -- such as significant glassed-in interior areas from which to view the scenery or a retractable roof over a pool.

The Disney Magic is as suitable for the Alaska market as most of the other ships operating there each summer. I have no doubt that the Disney Magic could provide great Alaska cruises. Anyway, we're talking about summer, when the whether in coastal Alaska tends to be sunny and in the 60s and 70s. If you wear a sweater or windbreaker, that's nice outdoor weather.

But, as noted, Alaska cruises leave from Seattle or Vancouver. So the tie-in with Disneyland's "Happiest Celebration on Earth" would be limited.

I would be thrilled to be able to book an Alaska cruise on the Disney Magic.

We want to book a 7 day Eastern in September 2006 (hoping to book the day they open up so we can get a SPH room). So I hope someone gets a heads up when the 2006 fall dates open up!
