We'll be having guests coming soon that will be staying for 2 week so I'll probably wait until they leave to start packing. I only need to pick up a few things for DH & DS but I know if I go to Target I'll find a lot of things I'll "need" for the cruise. I did pick up 2 boxes of the 2.5 gallon ziploc bags and the small size of Tide liquid detergent (4 loads of laundry for 99 cents) on my last Target visit. I really don't want to do laundry on the cruise but my mom insists that we HAVE to do laundry and that she may do a load of laundry every day. Sounds a little loco to me!

Tink: I have my reservations for Monday (our 2nd day at sea). I figured that the rotation they're least likely to give us is LAP since we have 6 kids so a Monday brunch wouldn't conflict with our character breakfast.

V-Bug: You've started packing already??

I have my reservations for monday as well. I think they are either 11:00 or 11:30. And I did request to have to have PLA. How do you know by rotation what day your character breakfast will be?

I too have started packing. I have a list of everything I plan on bringing and then made a list of all luggage and what is going into each bag with some bags already to go. I live by list

I do have a question regarding rolling coolers. I know from all the tips on these boards that you can bring them. But what I am wondering is this: Do you think the same will be true for our cruise since we are boarding at a different non disney owned terminal? And do any of you plan on bringing one?
Can you tell I'm a little over the top.

I live by lists too, Tink. I told my husband that I had a dream last night about our cruise and that I had forgotten all of my lists, itineraries, etc. He said, "Oh, it was a nightmare then!" Actually, in my dream I was remarkably calm.

As for Character Breakfast, it is generally the first Sea Day morning after your first night at Animator's Palate. So if this pattern follows for our cruises, PLA will have Character breakfast on Friday. LAP on Monday, and APL on Sunday. We have a late brunch scheduled for Friday. If we get PLA this will also be our Character Breakfast, but I figured DH and I wouldn't eat that much there since we will be taking pictures! We'll treat the brunch as more of a lunch!

I have the same question about coolers and even drinks, etc. packed in luggage. I know everyone does it in FL and it is not a problem, but the cruise doc's are very clear that it is not allowed. So I wonder if it will be Disney people or CA terminal people checking and what guidelines will they follow? I guess we will have to wait until the May 28th people return to find out for sure.

We are taking a two week driving trip of the Pacific Northwest in October. I have started to work on that, but won't get into serious planning until after this trip. That should take care of the post-cruise blues.

Rae Ann, Thanks for the trip report link! I finally got a chance to read it. It was great for me to read about how well it worked for the babes to come along to Los Veranos and Randi's since that is exactly what we will be doing. Sounds like we are going to have a great excursions on our cruise. I was also glad to hear that the Mango Deck was very kid friendly since that was sort of an unknown for me.

As for the bathroom door thing ... glad to know ahead of time As long as it is clean I don't really care.

Woohoo! The UPS man brought my docs today He, of course, now thinks I am a complete nut as I did not hold back my excitement!

We are bummed because the Canopy tour appears to be booked, as well as the tea at Palo.

Regarding high tea: Try making a reservation for a group larger than 2. I was checking at the Palo ressies & nothing was available for a party of 2 but if you tried a party of 3-4 there were openings on Sunday & Friday.

Okay I'm officially joining the "ladies with lists" too. I started our packing list today.

Cooler: I'm planning on bringing our collapsible coller (unfilled) & packing it in our large suitcase. DH will be bringing a carry-on with a few beverages (the kind you can't get at the deck 9 beverage station). I remember seeing a post a while back. Someone contacted the San Pedro port & they said that as long as our cruise line allows beverages, they'll allow it onboard. I guess we'll see if the May 28th cruisers get turned away with their coolers/drinks.

AAARRGH! Ye ol skull and crossbones be hanging over my vacation plans!

Lists? Already packed? I feel like the kid who shows up to the Final and it's already half-over. I've got no lists, no plan, nothing packed.....I'm not even sure if I'll need another suitcase or not. If so, I have to shop for that.

After reading the passport, it dawned on me that all I have is one dark suit, which I was going to wear for Formal Night. But now there's semi-formal night, a dinner at Palo's, and "jacket suggested" at Lumiere's. I haven't worn a jacket that many times in the last 2 years... Swim suits, packing for the kids, preparing for excursions, what to wear in the spa, cameras, medicine, hockey sticks, ACK. OK, it's finally sinking in - there's something to this "cruise shopping" thing.

Anyone got a Panama Canal webcam link for tomorrow?

Sunny here today finally! We had some windy rainy days, and I need some rays to keep me going. I plan to shop for odds and ends to the kids wardrobes this weekend, since we are busy nearly every weekend until the trip.
Have you seen the cute Mission Tortilla displays at the grocery store? They are a pop up of the Castle and Mickey and Minnie celebrating the 50th! Mission has new kid size tortillas out with edible disney decals. A friend of ours brought a display home for us, and it is so cute! We have just the top piece set up and I put a stack of post-its on it with our trip countdown.
Got to keep busy doing something since I am not doc dancin'.
