Thanks Ken for being our eyes and ears on the 10 day to try and scoop up what ever info you can. We can live vicariously through you all, until we get to board the Magic.

Thanks for the reminder about the certificates.

What are these certificates that you guys are talking about? Has no one heard from Jindy? I hope everything is okay!

Have a great day everyone! How is everyone's weather?

The certificates that we are talking about are "Order of the Ditch" certificates that can be customized and awarded to people after they have traveled through the canal. The web page to order them was listed in this tread awhile back. I have it on my other computer. They are nice certificates and they can be preprinted with the captain name if we know it, then maybe we can get him to actually sign them.

Good evening everyone! :wizard:
Must have missed that discussion also... please someone repost the site with the certificates... I'd love to get one for my DH. I"m gong on the 10 night Xmas cruise and believe me I'll be digging for info from anyone and everyone I meet... even if I have to ask the Captain himself! I am in a panic trying to pack.... I can't imagine what it will be like for 14 nights....

When we did the Western cruise back in May, we went to the captain party & signing and he said that he will be the captain on the Panama cruise. I will look at his name when I get home today. Things may have changed, but thats the last I heard. Thanks for the link!

I was green alcoholic Kool Aid. I know there was midori in it and some sprite....

you're on, Jen. Bet we have to go to Fort Wilderness to get it but it isn't that far from the Wilderness Lodge.

Enough of those and I can run around yelling "Mah biscuits are burnin'!"

Considering the fact you were doing that after one???

hah. I was sitting in a CHAIR yelling "Mah biscuits are burnin'!" after one Cactus Cooler... and a Bass Ale since I had to buy a beer for my race cohort and bought myself one, too... and all that Strongbow you made me drink at the Rose & Crown even though you weren't actually there.

Good morning. Been a busy week. For anyone who wants to know, here's a little info about Cabo.
First off, the ship anchors out away from the dock. The ships we saw used their lifeboats for tenders. I assume that Disney will maybe do the same.
The dock is away from the downtown on the south side of the marina. You could walk, but it would take time. There are bicycle cabs and taxis that will take you to town. Close to the dock there is a market area that sells many of the items you will find in town.
Once in town, there are an abundance of shops, big and small, to spend your money. All of the shops we stopped at accepted dollars, but some gave change in pesos. You will find bargains if you work at it. Be careful of the "silver", because some is not real silver. But then by the time the Magic reaches Cabo, everyone should know the possible pitfalls of tourist shopping.
Many dining opportunities. If you miss american food, there is the HardRock and Johnny Rockets or even Burger King. I think that CaboWabo had burgers too, but I don't remember-too many Waboritas. Great drink.
Couple of other places to eat or drink that we tried are Panchos and the Giggling Marlin. Panchos had good Mexican food and the Marlin had the party atmosphere and o.k. food. Lots of small places also. Too bad we leave so early as the Brasil steakhouse is a great place to go. All you can eat and very good.
When to ship anchors, toward the southwest, you will be able to see the Arch and the Lovers' Beach area. These are accessable by water taxi or excursion. Very pretty and interresting. Also there's the sea lions resting up from their morning hunt.
I tried to keep this short. There's a lot to do, with only 8 hours to do it. Any questions, let me know.

Thanks for the report guys, I wish we knew what kinda excursions will be offerred.

8 hours there will be a pretty short visit, we will see.

Bob, thanks for the report on Cabo.

Scott, I am still hoping (and praying) that our excursion info will be available at the 90 day mark, which should be about mid-February? I plan to call DCL in about a month, as I will make payment in full if they anticipate making the excursion info available at 90 days rather than 60 days.

Snow here tonight into tomorrow morning to make for a fun ride to work. Yuck!

Have a great week everyone, at least it will be a short one!

Jindy, is everything okay? Please let us know, we miss you.

Robin

It's Sunday morning and we are heading south. We pull into Key West at about noon. One big question about the longer cruises is what are they going to do about shows. Well, for the 10 day, they are showing The Incredibles and National Treasure on two nights in the main theater. They also are bringing a drum group on for one night (like drumline I guess).

I've met several other people who are going on the May Repo. Told them about our thread. One couple has been on every first sailing of both the Magic and Wonder, so of course they are on the May Repo as well. In addition, they are staying aboard to be on the first west coast cruise. Very impressive. Watch for them on the thread - I told them their screen name should have 1st or first in it.

That's all for now. I will give you another update soon.
