Good Job Ken, Way to go. Thanks for keeping us up to date. Wish we were there.

Freezing here, only way to get "Mah biscuits are burnin'!" is to back up to the stove.

For those of us stuck up in the frozen north, and if you have Sirius Radio, check out their Vacation Channel. A good mix of your island favorites. Jimmy, Harry, Bob, etc.......just trying to avoid shooting holes in the freezer.

I called DCL to see if we had a stateroom assigned, nada yet. Told our stateroom will be assigned at the port, this will drive me nuts, maybe not, could be part of the adventure and anticipation. OK that's better.

I also asked about shore excursions, told "we have no information at this time and no idea as to when we will receive information."

Now, I want a tee shirt from the Giggling Marlin.
Giggling Marlin Store
Now, I would've gotten a t-shirt from there, but I had already used up my t-shirt quota.

No cabin fever yet Scott. Could use a BoatDrink though after being out in the shopping traffic!
BTW, we had a Sirius in the rental car this summer on our trip out your way. Was great, but I think that Lee got a little tired of hearing that island voice say ".....you're on vacation".

E-mailed Disney Cruise Line last week and asked about shore excursions, they said they definitely would have them posted by the 90 day mark and hoped to have them up sooner to just keep watching their website.

At worst that would mean sometime in February.

Good Morning 14 day cruisers!

We are underway to St. Marten. Weather is good, seas generally calm, but somewhat windy. Just passing Cuba this morning. They have expanded the Formal Nights to two with one informal night as well. Tonight is the captains gala (formal), Sat. is informal, and Sunday is another formal night. I would guess that they will do something like this on our cruise as well. I would beat at least 2 of each (formal and informal). But I get the feeling that they are still making this up as they go.

Well, off to learn how make art out of fruit.

Ken

Yep Bob, the “Your on Vacation” thing can get old but the music is good.

Glad I got Christmas stuff done a while back, i.e. internet and gift cards, so did not have to contend with traffic. Also thought I was going to have to travel this week but things changed and get to be home. Next week will definitely have to hit the highway.

Ken, thanks for the info keep it coming, you are like our imbedded reporter, eyes on the ground guy. Good cover using the art fruit thing. Could this be the start of a UN “Art for Fruit” investigation?????

Okay, maybe not the tee shirt the guy's holding up on the Giggling Marlin website. Not only is it gramatically incorrect, but if I wore that into the Adventurers Club I don't think I'd ever hear the end of it.

I thought I'd drop in on you and mention something you may now know about. You'll have a very special guest on your trip, Donald 'Ducky' Williams, Disney character artist. He's on with us now, and announced he'll be on 9 cruises next year, including both repo's and the SS Member Cruise.

If you're not familiar with the name, you are certainly familiar with his work. The main gateway arch to WDW, the one with Mickey and Minnie on the sides, his. Tony's restarurant in MK? Completely his, from the design to the real paintings on the walls. His job is bacially to come up with the character art for just about anything WDW needs. The billboards down to the ticket stubs. And promotional art too. He has some great stories to tell, make time in your trip to attend his seminar, you will enjoy it thoroughly.

If anybody listens to Delila at night on the radio (syndicated easy listening show), she just gave away a Disney repo cruise, in fact ours, to a family of 4. Wonder if they'll find their way over here....

" why oh why Delial" couldn't help but date myself with that one. Lucky folks.

Thanks Mark for the info on the guest for this cruise.

"if I wore that into the Adventurers Club I don't think I'd ever hear the end of it."
That shirt could carry them through the next century. It would be pretty brutal, but funny.

Hope everyone is having a great week! I just wanted to wish everyone a Meryy Christmas in case I don't get to write anymore before then. It has been a very busy week so far! Santa is bringing Kaylin dachshund, so "he" has to pick it up Friday! I have not heard anything from Jindy. Kaylin sent her daughter a gift a couple weeks ago, but we have not heard back from her. Hope everything is okay!

Hi everyone

Like I said in my previous post, it seems that the crew is making this cruise up as they go. Each day in the Art of Entertainment series, the cruise staff keep referring to the next sea day as being Thursday. Well, everyone knows that the next sea day is Sunday - she still had her mind set to the regular 7 day eastern.

I asked several people if the current captain would still be aboard for the first repo cruise. Each person went blank and said "I guess so". Then I asked the captain himself as he was signing things in Treasure Ketch. He paused, thought for a minute and then asked again if I was referring to the May repo or the Aug. repo. He final assured me that he would be the captain for the May repo but not for the Aug repo. So, based upon that - it appears that Captain Thord Haugen will be incharge for the May repo.

The current cruise director - Brent - will also be aboard for the May repo.

Palo is doing extra brunchs and high teas due to the extra day at sea. So I would assume that we will see that on the repo as well.

I've heard that half the passengers are return cruiser on this cruise and it appears even higher on the repo.

That's it for now. I hope everyone has a great holiday!

Ken

Hello all my fellow May cruisers  I have not posted to this thread in quite awhile as I tend to just lurk. Anywhoo, I just wanted to wish everybody a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Ken, thanks so much for the information. Now I can order the certificates! Oh, and I have not forgotten about the toppers from New York City (nor yours either Peter) We are going day after tomorrow, and I'll email you the results when I get home. Thanks for your updates Ken, and you and your family have a very Merry Christmas on the Magic!

Kim, I don't know how far you are from Tallahassee, but I definately want to get a dog when I move down there. Is this a mini dachshund that santa is bringing for Kaylin? Are you getting the puppy from a breeder or pet store? My neighbors recently brought home "Miles" who is a cream colored mini dachshund and he is SO cute! You'll have to fill me in on your purchase. (or santa's should I say!) I'm also concerned about Jindy, I hope everything is okay.

Robin

Robin- She is a mini. Shes a red/chocolate color. Sooo cute! I am about 6 hours from you, but have been looking for a couple of months and there are several breeders all over Florida. I found them on the internet. I could not find any here, so I thought I was going to have to drive to Ocala to get one, but last minute there was an ad placed in our local paper from a breeder. I would rather go through a good breeder than a pet store. I think Kaylin has it in her mind that if Santa brings her one she will name it Oobie Roo! Go figure. Kids have such imaginations! Have a great day everyone!

Kim

We had a new menu last night - Master Chef Series - that we were told would only be used for this cruise and the repos. I have one of the menus and I will post a picture of the selections after we get home.

St. Maartens today, St. Lucia tomorrow.
I will keep you posted on other new things.

Ken

Thanks for the updates.

Also, Cabo sounds very fun!!! Kinda sounds like Cozumel. Went to Carlos N Charlies and lets just say thenext morning at the character breakfast, I was not feeling very chipper! :earseek:
