LOL

Peter

Peter, the countdown police LOL....ooopps, sorry about that, I will put myself on countdown probation, maybe there is a program for repeat offenders, a bootcamp thing... Maybe I was going deep deep Undercover in the world of coutdown violators, yeah that's it, LOL,,, guess I should have read those guidlines, there is a line Pirates of the Carib about guidlines...

Kelli , waiting for the green light to stop flashing, I know most of the guys so may give them a call to get on it, LOL, actually I will wait as I hate to bug them I might need a real favor one day.

Back to cleaning the garage, working in the motorcycles, filling SCUBA tanks, and watching the Tour de France, .......

Gee, I forgot about the Tour....I wonder if Keith's nephew is riding this year.....he was on the team last year, but his Mom hasn't mentioned it this year....his name is Kenny Labbe, and he and Lance were born on the exact same day......that's our family's claim to fame....

It wouldn't hurt to check with one of the techs and see who's working south today...may get you somewhere, or not....and when you move to FL, you won't need them either!!! ;-)

I'll PM you with a couple questions....

Peter, I knew someone would brag about what their cable modem costs!!! Here in Wyoming, we have VERY few options, none of which come cheap!! When ComCast bought (most of) TCI, they didn't buy Wyoming and Montana...and maybe a couple other states. We ended up with a smaller company and don't get those mega customer deals like more dense communities.

Qwest DSL has up to 1.5 M for cheaper than my 1M cable modem, but its still in the early stages for full deployment. AND I can get an employee discount, not something they usually do for new prducts!! Just need to convince them that my area deserves it!!

Everyone have a great day! Kelli

Kelli looks like your nephew is not riding in the tour this year, searched the riders adn did not find him, but to do it once is still great.

DSL will be $29 a month and I get to keep dial up access while on the road and can not fine a wireless or LAN.

Used to use compuserve but just dropped it at $9.95 a month adn really did not use it.

On to lynn's bike and more tanks.

Just back from the weekend at WDW. The 4th of July fireworks are amazing. We boarded our beagles at the Epcot kennel. Poor pups are fired this morning from all the noise last night.

WOW DSL is fast, this is great. Now to figure out what to do with all that time I used to spend waiting for dialup stuff.

Our Malamutes were less than impressed or freaked by the fireworks yesterday during the day. Last night was cancelled due to bad weather. They looked at us with that what's the big deal can we go home and eat look they get.

Jenn was it pretty crowded?

Hubby would never ever give up his cable modem for dial up again, he just wishes he could get DSL for his servers..
amazingly Scott WDW was NOT crowded this weekend. There were masses of people for the fireworks but Saturday was a near ghost town and yesterday was managable. The epcot fireworks were simply amazing tho!

Peter, I knew someone would brag about what their cable modem costs!!!

I think it is outragous what they charge for these services
40 buck for cable tv.. and 36 for internet aCCESS
my phone tv and inernet come on one bill
and costs me over $110.00 per month ..

im ready to do what others have done.

told cable co. he just wanted computer access and once u have the cable in your home u can then hook it up to your tv ..
ok so u dont have a cable box but who cares.. we never order movies anyways...add cell phones on top of that and $200.00 per month... other friend has gotten rid of the land line and only has cell phone..

Yes, the cable company here is rolling in the dough....plus, they pay their people peanuts....I make sure to let their techs know how much our union wages are while we're both trampling through the dog #$^% to get to the phone/cable boxes.

Plus, at least in Cheyenne, the cable company can get away with all kinds of stuff, because they aren't regulated by the PSC like the phone company is.

The biggest problem for us is the people that cancel their land line and just use cells. There's no getting around the convenience--just something we have to live with. I think its a sign of the changing times and our mobile society.

Oh well, off my soapbox! Glad to hear it was easy for you, Scott. Talk us up to your friends!!! DSL is what's gonna get us to retirement. (only 3 more years!!) :yo-yo: Kelli

Kelli, 3 years to go for you guys, well we decided to stay for a few more, will make us much more financialy set, That is unless someone offers us a bunch for our house.

So it is 2 years 10month and 25 days for me. Lynn can retire this Oct 1, but it is tough to leave the 4 weeks vacation and 80 hours of comp time and the health insurance. It will add 7.5 more % to her retirement check. So we will be here in WY for a few more years.

So Scott, are you a bicycle rider as well or just a Tour de France fan? I spent some time on my bicycle this week pretending to be Lance. I just starting training for a long distance fundraising ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles down Highway 1 in October.

So, Scott, do you need a countdown timer for the 2 years, 10 months, and 25 days?

Cap
(who retired Jan 1, 2004)

Cap, I do the math every morning as I wake:D Congrats on your retirement.

Ken, San Fran to LA should be a great trip, and Oct would be a good month to do it. It will be a long and winding road. Can't remember any climbs on Hwy 1? I used to be a very serious rider, two coast to coast trips and a nice long tour of Eurpoe in my younger days, Still ride some. Always followed the tour, I enjoy those kinds of endurance events where mind over body is necessary.

Scott

Actually, while there are lots of hills along Highway 1 through Big Sur, most of them are long, but only a few are real steep. So, it's not to bad. Especially with triple chain rings up front.

Do you think Lance can do it again? The team time trial this week will be interesting.

Ken

I really think Lance can do it again. There are many days to go , he has the support of a great team. Just so many things could happen, but wow what a feat.

The team time trial will be very interesting this year. I don't think many folks are happy with this new rule.

Eddie Mercx was may favorite in years well gone by.

What charity is your ride for? Hate to mention it, but I hope you have some calm wind. I would think the cross winds could be no fun at all. Keep us posted.

Scott

The ride supports the Arthritis Foundation. Last year we didn't have problems with the wind. Most of my riding was done by 1:00pm or so I was done before the afternoon winds hit.

The year before, I did a ride that went down the valley between Salinas and King City. Now there we had some major cross winds when we went from one side of the valley to the other. Just about push me off the road several times (and I'm not a small rider).

The rides webpage is www.californiacoastclassic.org if your interested.

Ken

Quiet group today. We were just about to fall off the first page. Can't let that happen.

Not much else going on - just heard todays stage of the Tour de France. Lance is large and incharge today.

Hope everything is going well for everyone.

I was figuring out what it will take to pay for the cruise yesterday. I figured if I work 25hrs/week for 30 weeks that will be enough to pay for 2 of us (my part). That's a long time!

It's a good reason to keep the part time job. :) I plan on traveling in style from coast to coast. And spending lots of money on bingo!!

We're taking a cruise in October with my mom, she doesn't get the whole bingo thing. I said she would if she won the jackpot on my last cruise ($7,000)!

We won frequently in January--much to the dismay of the other bingoers...no bingo love! ;-)

Didn't win last month, then again I only played for the jackpot.

$14,000+ at the end of two weeks would just about pay for my entire cruise...so that would be nice to have!

wishful thinking!!
