Yo, Elaine...Was it not you who suggested we have breakfast in our jammies 'cause it was a family tradition? If it was, what was the family occasion?....Couldn't have been Christmas morning...In May? ? ? :confused3

Lynda,
Those pictures of Cash & Luke are so great!

I took Nikko, our 12 year old Akita, to the vet the other day and found an article about black dog syndrome. It was very sad tale of how black dogs stay in shelters and pounds the longest, all due to their color, bummer...

Here is the link: www.blackpearldogs.com

All our dogs when we were kids were black labs or mixes and Nikko had a brother, Baxter, who was a black lab...my little baby! Here's a picture of Nikko, Michael, Quincy and Baxter.

1630, ok we will scan the horizion on tuesday, will report any sighting.

Debbie, getting excited huh, ask Off Kilter if they do "Minstrel Boy".

They do!!! It is part of the song "Goodbye Murshin Durkin" :teeth: Which is on the Celtic Armadillo CD - Track 6 :teeth: :woohoo:

I had to go listen to "Minstrel Boy" to figure it out LOL

Debbie

I couldn't resist dusting this post off from the archives (May 12th 2005 10:30 pm). I had just had my meeting from h*ll :furious: that day... one of the worst working days of my life. With a little more than 24 hours left to go before our flight I found myself sitting at the computer feeling very run down, yet very excited about FINALLY meeting all of you!

Little did I know that night just how true those last 2 lines in the poem would be! :lovestruc

OKAY... now about Airborne... and Friendships!!!

There are those who like orange, :earsboy: while others like lime. :earboy2:
They don't taste the same, BUT they both work just fine. :teeth:
It's a personal preference. Don't even ask why. :confused3
Just hurry and get some. The sooner you buy
The germs will all run. Yes, they'll all go away.
So, go out right now... really, please don't delay.
ALL of us must be healthy. We've waited SO LONG.
Through all of these posts, we've been singing our song.
"We're taking the MAGIC from the EAST to the WEST" :Pinkbounc
Our journey's the FIRST one. We're almost obsessed
With Walmart, and Jammies, and flipflops with lights. :rotfl2:
Our friendships have helped us to all reach new heights.
May 14th is coming. The day will be here.
We'll all see each other and send up a cheer. :jumping1:
I for one am quite greatful for all my new friends.
This journey we've started, through time will transend. :lovestruc

See everyone soon! :wave2:

Wow! I'm going to check out that article! Very sad to hear....our only black dog is 8 now, and she's such a joy!!! Great pic!!

Since I know most of us are dog lovers, I wanna share this shocking news! Our local shelter euthanized 42 dogs on Wed...they SAY it was necessary, but that's not clear. The dogs were/could have been infected with canine influenza. I haven't taken my dogs to the dog park for the past month, so they are effectively "quarantined" at the house for another week or so. Pretty scary, they say not to even take your dog to the vet, unless you call ahead and talk to the doc. They don't want infected dogs in the vet's offices for fear of contamination!! :confused3 Ugly......

Georgie, have you tried the pink grapefruit Airborne?!? Not impressed.....I'll stick with the lemon-lime....

I've lost ALL track of B-days these past couple weeks.....hope they were ALL very happy, and you all get to travel for your presents!!!

Just stopping by to say "HI" to everyone.

Am in Myrtle Beach, S.C. for the week with my sisters. Just came home from the Alabama Theatre and saw a great show. Then stopped by Krispy Kreme and got a dozen of those wonderful donuts. With a glass of cold milk, they are wonderful. There is a store on every two blocks, practically

Hope everyone has a wonderful week

Lynda: How's Little Bee's replacement coming along???

Luke, a fifteen month old, is doing pretty well. He's got a Golden Retriever-type personality...very sweet, quiet, calm but, for some reason, very stubborn...Looks like his last two families inadvertantly taught him some bad habits that I'm having a REAL hard time easing him out of...Compared to Little Bee, who was only 6 months old, he's pretty stupid...The vet thinks his former families just left him in the back yard during the day and he never really learned to "think"...Makes me really appreciate what a treasure Cash is. It's still possible that he won't make the grade as a service dog. Luckily, there's a ready pool of prospective adopters for trained Service Dog "washouts" and he'll be able to have a good home whatever happens...

Yep, big black dogs are a dime a dozen around here and many beautiful black lab "teenager" puppies are put down. All my dogs are black or black and white ...I've had very few brown or red dogs...

Grapefruit??? Hmmmmm. I'll have to try some. First I must use up the 4 bottles of ORANGE AIRBORNE I have in our medicine closet! :rotfl2:

Oh Kelli! That's so sad about the dogs. My sister has a black lab...14 yrs old now and still "happy". She's been taking her down to the doggie beach quite frequently. I'd better tell her to be careful. Sure don't want Casey to get sick!

Debbie , right you are you sage of Off Kilter knowledge.

Will keep an eye out for the Magic today.

There are ten little fluffy yellow Canadian nationals hanging out on my lawn. I guess they are actually now citizen of the US because they were born on US soil. :rotfl2:

And the MAGIC pulls ahead, away from the pack, and wins the Derby by a nose!!! :rotfl2:

Kelli, Turtle Talk with Crush it totally awsome, very radically KEWL..... I think they have it now at DL. Not sure where there.

Good pic Peter, we were a little further away. Web Cam??? or who do we know on the Magic now.

I'm Baaaaccckkkk!!!!

We had a wonderful time with our son and his wife, got to see him graduate, ate at some of our favorite Utah places, hit a LOT of scrapbook stores, and had beautiful weather the whole week! It was nice to be back in SLC where roads make sense and the mountains are beautiful, but it doesn't feel like home any more... Orlando does!

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes!!! I did have a wonderful day, and got to spend it with my DDIL, who is a teriffic young lady. We went on a photo safari at Temple Square and got some wonderful shots of the beautiful tulips there. I have really missed those...

So, now we're home and I've started re-packing my suitcases for the cruise! It's amazing to have 2 trips so close together, but at least I don't have to haul out the suitcases twice..lol! Here's a laugh for you.... I own several pairs of gloves, but can only find one of each! Kind of like the black hole in the dryer where socks disappear! ARGH!!!!
