Hello all,
We have finally decided we can go on the southern carribean 11 day cruise. Booked this morning cat 8 w/Verandah 6096, after westbound I guess we are spoiled and really want a outside view. Which dinner seating is everyone doing? We have main for now.
I hope that we will have as much fun as we did on the westbound repo.
Oh by the way.... DS is not going this time.... what ever will we do?????
I will be great to see all of you guys again.

Ken :Pinkbounc

Yippee!!!!!!

Ken & Christine are joining us on the 11 day!!!!!

Mom & I have late dining again this cruise....we like not having to hurry back to the ship in the afternoon on port days.

Can't wait to see you guys again....only 390 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elaine,

I don't have any pics from the 'tilt' unfortunately, but I can cut some so they look like they are, lol... Now, what is this story you're talking about? Do you mean journaling or a real story like a book?

Did anyone ever find out what was really wrong with the anchor? We heard a couple of stories, and they said something ambiguous in the senior staff q&a session the next morning, but...

Renae

Hi Renae

Well I sorta created a book about our journey. You see, everyday I emailed myself a summary of the days activities and happenings on the ship...I tried to write it in my journal every day but it was just easier to email myself. When we got home I then used this information to create "Our Trip of a Lifetime" which ended up being a 34 page story of our cruise.

About the anchor...I heard it was a problem with the winch (sp?) mechanism.

Hi Elaine,

It will be great to see you and Margaret also, we have main dining booked, but if everyone else is doing late we will change, so maybe we all can link together and have another great dinner party. What do you think about a table for 40+?

Ken

Ken...join us on the cruise meet thread for the 11 day....Tony (aphoenix) is maintaining a roster like when Jeff & Jen did for our cruise. It lists who has main & late dining.

Mom & I would love to dine with you and Christine...will your son be joining us as well???

It's funny, but that thread just isn't as popular as ours was. Not much info about what is happening. Only a couple of people actually on the ship have posted. Guess they are too busy with those throw up bags.................

I am really glad we didn't go on the return voyage.

I was thinking the very same thing, Linda. We actually almost went signed on about a week before but decided against it.

Yes, that is true, but they don't have an option for unlimited internet, either. They have only a by-minute plan. I can't remember the breakout, but nothing unlimited. DCL removed the unlimited option -- I think to try to reduce the lines in the internet cafe.

Hopefully, we'll see more as they get into port. And, I hope the thread gets back to talking about the Magic Repo!

Just wanted to let everyone know that .....

Willie Friar is onboard .... :teeth:

I hope so too. I'd like to see some actual reports.

That's a bummer they don't have unlimited access. Wonder if that's going to be the case now that they are going to wireless internet?

Cool that Willie has gotten on board!

Linda

Willie Friar is such a nice lady! She was staying in the cabin next to ours, and we talked in the hallway frequently. She even came in our room and posed for a picture and autographed one of our Panama Canal brochures that we had ordered before the trip. She told us that SHE designed the brochure back when she worked for the PCAuthority. What a very cool souvenir!

They are still selling unlimited internet access for the Internet Cafe for the 3, 4 and 7 day cruises. The Wireless access appears to be available only by purchasing access by the minute or a block of minutes.

My guess is that you will see all internet access moving to the "block of minutes" method. It would be DCLs way of preventing sharing of the Unlimited Package. If you are forced to purchase a block of minutes, then DCL couldn't care less how many people use those minutes because once they were gone, the group would have to purchase an additional block.

But a reason they may only use the "block of minutes" for wireless is to control bandwidth. If you are using your own laptop and moving large files or photo across the net, you could really have an effect on their bandwidth. More so then if you were just using DCLs computers to check your E-mail.

Ken

I would agree that we are not going to be seeing many reports due to the fact that there isn't an unlimited internet option.

Maybe someone's taking notes.
