And here I thought you booked the 11 day cruise!!!!!

Was the theme park Cedar Point?????

I sent you a PM....

Leslie....good to see you posting...does that mean that you guys made it through Katrina alright?????

We just saw the damage in Miami ..... and you want ME to move to Florida!!!!

Hi All,
I have been busy with work and school and I am getting ready to go to nights for two weeks. :earseek: Anybody have any suggestions for someoe who does not drink coffee??

Robb and Noah went to Sky High yesterday- and they liked it. Robb said he went to boost the price of the Disney stock I bought.

Today we went to six flags, here North of Chicago. They have a very large water park- although I was not on the cruise, I did close my eyes and pretend.....

Yes it is Cedar Point... and we were only 8 or less miles from Pelee Island which is Canada! Usually you can see Pelee from these islands, but it was less than a clear day.

Hi Debbie!
The pictures were great. When you get back to work- would you have any historical data on the hurricane info for time of year and area we are going for the 11 night cruise.....as if you have any spare time.

Anyone else who works for NOAA or something weather related?

Scott or Peter??

Anyone?

Actually I HAVE looked that up. It is at work, but I think I can recreate it.

Trust me I see where the hurricanes have gone... traveling in them would not be fun....

I would have put this on the 11 night thread, but don't want to be a downer.

To start, check here: Hurricane Maps

Play close attention to 1995 :scared1:

Okay, I looked at 1995 and my first thought was, "OH my look at all the pretty colored swirly lines!" :teeth:

It will be interesting to see what 2005 will look like, because isn't this suppose to be a record year?

Maybe it only comes every 10 years?? HMM??

I'll have to ask for some good drugs from my MD before I go on this cruise....maybe something to induce a coma for a few days???

More like zofran and scopolamine patches....and my neurostimulator. (by the way I loved the relief bands on the May cruise)

Has anyone tried the scopolamine patches?? I have only put them on patients who are on a ventalator and having lots of secretions- but have never used them myself. I know they will make your mouth dry- because they work nicely to dry up secretions of my patients.

Has anyone tried the scopolamine patches??

Have been on dive trips where people have used them and they were fine.

Debb beat me to the info.... darn it, my mind is mush after last week, I need sleep .

Mountain Dew.

Debbie

I don't think I could have been that close to "The Point" and not insisted to be dropped off there!

That, and Celeste getting to go to Six Flags is really making me resent living 5 hours from the nearest amusement park!

Waaaaaaaaahh!

Okay, I'm done now! :rolleyes1

I did for our first three cruises. I just used less-drowsy Dramamine for the repo cruise.

It did give me some pretty bad dry mouth but only on the day I put it on which was every third day. I didn't feel drowsy at all unless I laid down and then I was out cold!

My only real other complaint is that the patch seemed to show up in almost every picture I took.

It worked great for motion sickness though which I am really susceptible to. Our Alaska cruise was incredibly rough and I didn't feel the slightest bit queasy.

You want me coming at you with a needle after large amounts of mountain dew??? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have done a few nights....I just know I get REALLY wacky between 3 and 6 AM and VERY, VERY cold.

Yes Steve, I live 15 mintues from six flags and we didn't even go on any rides today- just the water park.

Thanks for the info on the patch....the less drowsy dramamine still makes me pretty sleepy!!

One last thing...
My sister is going to be lurking on this thread and the other two that I am on- she is looking for info on the cruise- what happens and WHY we go. I thought other people could make suggestions and/ or answer this question and provide any links they have....
this way she is hearing it from someone other than myself.

She knows what I think.

Here are some picture links.

PC Album 1

PC Album 2

PC Album 3

There are some great pictures of all of the nutty people that Celeste met :rotfl: :rotfl2:

It is hard to convey WHY we go in pictures, but the biggest reason is for the people we meet. Cruising is the bonus!!

Makes ya just want to book another cruise. :cloud9:

OK, Celeste, I just going to ignore all that nasty stuff you just said :crazy2: and answer the question.......

I've used a half patch each cruise. My doctor says that even though they say not to cut them, its not a problem and that's what she does. (she weighs 90 pounds, and cuts hers in thirds...) On the May trip, I didn't need one the first part of the trip, but put one on as we exited the Canal, just because I'd heard the Pacific was rougher, and I didn't want to take any chances. I took it off after 3 days and didn't have any trouble for the rest of the trip at all.

I've even used my half patch and done Mission:Space twice in a row. Works well for the coasters at Islands of Adventure also. I can't do any of the carnival rides without a patch, and have trouble on flights, too so I think they work great.

I've never noticed any drying of my mouth, but then again, I'm used to less than 18% humidity at home, so that may be part of it. Etta was told she was NOT to use or TOUCH them because she has glaucoma. And you always want to wash your hands after putting them on.

(Guessing you know that fact!!! :goodvibes ) Good luck!!!

So true and very well said.
