Can anyone confirm that the sunken mickey was still missing during our trip...DID anyone snorkel at the family beach.

Sorry, Celeste, Harry snorkeled there and saw it -- about 30-40 feet out from the sunken mast. I missed it (since I was not with Harry at Castaway Cay) but will look for it in December.

Hi Jim!

We are fine...the earthquake was out in the ocean up by Eureka. I wonder if Steve and Amy felt it?

The quake was pretty close to us but we didn't feel it at all. I posted a reply to the tsunami warning thread on the main cruise board.

Like I said there, it was a little scary learning this as we only live three blocks from the beach. Also, earlier this evening we were walking on our favorite trail along the beach.

But again, before all the phone calls and emails we received, we didn't even know it happened. I actually had trouble finding news on it. By the time I learned what happened, the tsunami warning had already been called off.

Actually it's not that bad. 6 people have needed to go to the hospital after riding M:S during an 8 month period. None were serious, all wer eanxiety attack type incidents. Most people that I know that have ridden it have loved it, mostly because with all of the new warnings alot of people are terrified to ride it now.
The ride isn't that bad. 2G's is nothing for a coaster, but the intensity of the ride it was gets you.

Is that all M:S is? 2G's? It sure seems a lot stronger. I've been on coasters with 4G's and they didn't feel nearly as strong as M:S. I'm pretty sure it is because the pressure is pushing you on your back as opposed to coasters where you are generally pushed into your seat.

I like M:S but it is pretty intense (and I'm really susceptable to motion sickness) so once per trip is enough for me.

My first thought when I heard about the incident was that it was probably a brain aneurysm (sp?) which is what has happened in a lot of coaster-related deaths. I really feel terrible for the family! :guilty:

We got the survival kit with the songs/screen saver.....

Defintately makes us want to book another one....

Michelle aka NEM

We got one of these too. The packaging was awesome... very creative. It made us want to book another one (REUNION CRUISE IN 2007!!! :Pinkbounc )

But all the specials expired on May 31st! :rotfl:

Scott: INCREDIBLE picture of the un-brulee. I remember when it was served, our TABLE 12 took a look at it and said, "WHAT IS THAT!" We were die hard brulee fans, and that definitely didnot measure up :rotfl:

Steve: Sounds like you have a WONDERFUL place. So glad the quake (or its aftermath) didn't affect you.

Sherri and Lynn: I am envious of your scrapbooking! Yes, Thanks Linda for that GREAT class on board ship! We are still in unpacking mode, and I think that will continue for a while!

Leslie: As far as the pictures... can you try right clicking and saving as... sometimes that works.

Member Cruise: Joe + I will be bringing our 9 year old nephes on the cruise. He is SO excited (I hope things work out with permissions, school leave, father... etc.) We will be getting in LATE on 09/02 (AKL), then returning to BCV for 09/08-09/11)

Mission Space: What an awful thing to happen... a nightmare. My prayers go out to the family.

Hey I forgot to mention what I have learned about that little yacht we saw in Cabo. Remember the one with the helicopter and sail boat. It was named Tatoosh, The owner is Paul Allen of Microsoft. So as we use those Microsoft products we now know how he is spending his $$$$. Tatoosh is 301 ft with a crew of 30 plus. This one is the mid size one of his three super yachts. That is a 40 sailboat on the starboard side.

Thanks Scott, figured I would do some more research on this. Seems Paul has three yachts, this being the third and smallest that he has. The Meduse and Octopus are larger with the Octopus over 400ft.

This link to a yach site has some photo's of the inside of the Tatoosh

Yes, my DS and DH went out and found it. I think it was toward the right side -- closer to the family beach.

I had originally heard that with the storms last summer that it was washed away- just wondered it they had put it back.

Thanks everyone!

Sorry Jen, no picture of your mushed brulee, or attempt to recreate Devils Tower with that glob of pink stuff.

Good to hear you CA folks are OK.

While there might not be an actual photo- the mental photo I am making is amusing me!

Hi Everybody! :wizard:

My "ta-toosh" is feeling a bit better today.. .thanks Kelli..:teeth: Funny thing, the dog jumped up on the bed and landed on my back this morning....heard something "crack" and now my butt feels a bit better. Go figure. My dog is a chiropracter!

Glad to hear all of you in N. CA are okay from the quake.

Finally got out of the house yesterday. Where else... Wal-Mart! They have electric scooters there with baskets on them that you can use. :moped: What a site I was trying to learn how to drive one of those!! I ended up side swiping a fixture of shirts and knocked a whole pile on the floor. Poor Joe had to follow me around picking things up....:rotfl2: I didn't last too long there.... too many people and I was afraid I'd hit someone. Guess I shouldn't have been driving under the influence....:rotfl: :rotfl: This is certainly a learning experience and another whole type of adventure for me.

The MS thing is all over the paper and news here. Joe first thought possible aynurism (sp?) too. We love MS... I can't do the teacups but didn't have a problem with MS. and I even rode it during "testing and adjustment" when it was a LOT more intense than it is now. Go figure.

I'm the same way Leslie, I can not ride teacups or anything that spins, but I have no problems with M:S

Oh Leslie... now I am really laughing :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: You in Walmart with a scooter :moped: and Joe picking up after you!

You get a STAR for even attempting to drive one of those things... and in a crowded store! :cheer2:

We went to Walmart last Friday, and my Joe asked me if I wanted to get in the cart so he could push me around (we won't even go there with that! :goodvibes )

After I politely declined his offer, he spotted the scooters, and said, "Hey, here you go... How about using one of these?" Bless his heart. He actually thought I could drive one of those... an ATV, Yes! ...a go cart in Walmart, now that's another story! :rotfl2:

I laughed so hard, and told him I'd be much dangerous... what if I hit someone? He quickly agreed.

Of course, he was afraid if my normal 1 hour "just to look around" would turn into 2 hours because of my hobble, hobble, hobble! :rotfl2:

So glad to hear your doggie chiropractor is in business! ;)

It has gone from spring (raining w/highs of 50 degrees) to summer (mostly sunny w/chance of afternoon thunderstorms and highs of 75 - 80 degrees) in one day!

Yes, I got sucked into the scrapbooking vortex. Now I wish I had gone to Linda's class, because I am learning by trial and error. I did decide to learn on my older trips, saving this one until I had learned a few things. Scott is always coming home with things I can use for scrapbooking.

I'm glad to see everyone is still posting, it helps keep all those new friendships alive and fresh, like we just left the ship. Looking foward to seeing all of you who are on the member cruise.

Wow we have now seen 2 of Mr. Allen's 3 yachts. When we took our 4 day Disney cruise last November the Octopus was docked beside the Wonder - took a pic of it to show the guys at work because we were told Bill Gates & his family were onboard but we didn't see them.

There are some great scrapbooking magazines on the market. Creating Keepsakes is my favourite along with their sister publication Simple Scrapbooks.

I wish I lived closer because I'd love to come over and scrapbook with you.

I will warn you....it's addictive. I know...in just over 4 years I have enough supplies to open a store :rolleyes1 !!!!!

Elaine

P.S. If you (or anyone else) has any scrapbooking questions, please feel free to PM me.

Has anyone received the pins DCL said they were sending? I wonder when they will arrive?

And, anyone receive the T-shirts? Hm m m m.

No pins, No shirt, here. DO we need to get in line LOL.
