Hey Kelli,
How did you end up getting on this weekend? Soft opening? I know the DVC event is next weekend, so what happened? It looked awesome on the video ride throughs.

I have a CM friend down here that decided to take pity on me. We have a mutual friend that was bragging about getting on next weekend's pass holder preview, and bummer that I'm not a DVC member. She decided to show him, and take me on the CM preview. He's NOT happy! :cool1: Oh well, he lives 15 minutes from WDW.....I live 1500 miles away. Guess it all works out!!!:sunny:

Yesterday was beautiful, weather-wise. High 70's with partly cloudy skies. Today is supposed to be much the same. It's great!! 25 in Cheyenne right now!!

This morning is the Stitch breakfast at the Poly!! I can't wait to see how THAT goes!!!

Hi Kelli! :wave2:

That's so cool you relly got an advanced shot at Everest! I don't know if I have the stomach for it. Mission space was fine, but it's the roller coaster things that get me. Do you have time to "see" things while you're on the ride, or are you just hanging on for dear life! :scared1:
ENJOY your cruise!!! :boat:

Just wanted to let you all know...Expedition Everest ROCKS!!!!!!!!

Even with my half a patch, I got REAL close to losing it the 2nd time in a row!!!

My friend describes it as "Big Thunder Mountain on steroids". The preshow is very cool, with lots of things to look at. We had walkons every time, so I didn't get to spend much time looking. The employees all got sun visors for their windshields. One gal in the gift shop (surprise!!! the ride lets out in a GIFT SHOP of all places!!! :rotfl2: ) said she couldn't wait to see them all over the employee parking lot!!!! They said "I survived Expedition Everest" or something to that effect.

Anyway, this ride was harder on me than Mission:Space, even though I'd had my patch on overnight. Everyone really did enjoy it, though! It's a keeper!!!

Thanks for the review Kelli....now I know for sure I WON'T be riding EE in November!!!!!

Funny you should ask....as soon as the guy in the gift shop got through ringing up my pretzels, I took them and opened the bag. When he looked at me funny, I explained the 2nd trip did me in. When he was through ringing me up, he stepped around the register and said to me, quietly, that the same thing happened to him on the 2nd trip. He said the key was to watch the track and NOT look around so much. It worked for him. So, I guess the NEXT time I will have to do that. But, yes, there is SO much to see....and several fairly vertical climbs and drops.

So, I guess its good news AND bad....

Kelli, you DID have an offer from a DVC member...

should I be bringing shirts with short sleeves then? I hate packing for this time of year since I am limited to one suitcase.

Georgie

That's a good one...I didn't see that one...I think they've been adding smilies all day today!!!!!

Hey, everyone note that Elaine joined the Walk to Disney Challenge!!!
Go Elaine- it's interesting that the distance between my house to WDW and from her house to WDW is pretty close. Somehow I thought she would be farther away as she is in Canada! :welcome:

Yes, you're absolutely right....I did. Didn't mean to leave that out...but wouldn't you go when you could just to "tweak" Kevin?!?!? :thumbsup2 I was just too interested in mentioning that part to mention your offer...aren't I awful!?!?!? :guilty: I do appreciate it. Do you know when you'll be at AK? We'll be back to WDW just before lunch on Thursday. I did get my DVC card in the mail, so I won't need to go as a guest, but we could get together and do it anyway!

I say yes to short sleeves. I did get a tad chilled before Illuminations at Epcot last night, but it was the wind, not really the cold.....and I'm guessing AC doesn't have much wind!!!:lmao:

pirate: Just back from dinner at Outback....very nice "down" day today....we'll be on the road about 10am to go out to the port!

I'll be at AK on Sunday the 29th. I am thinking about getting there at opening but I'm not very good at the early stuff. I'll probably have lunch at AK if you all are interested in meeting up.

There isn't much wind at the AC, just some hot air, hah. There is one place in the main room where if you sit there, the air conditioner blows right on you...but I know better than to sit there.

It is kinda funny Celeste....I know I was surprised when we drove to WDW the first time in 2001 and it was just over 5,000 km (3,125 miles) round trip. I guess I always thought it would be further..but it is a pretty straight drive when you look at the map.

I started my walk to Disney tonight....2 miles down...2,161.6 miles to go... :faint:

P.S. Yes...Kelli is going on the 4 day Wonder cruise that leaves this Sunday....

Somethings aren't fair- Expedition Everest AND a cruise all together. pixiedust:

Elaine, I am excited to have you in the challenge- it will be fun to watch each of us go up in mileage. Plus it will be a motivation to know that someone I know is doing the samething. :woohoo:

Now if I could get some of the rest of you to join in on the Chicago Distance Classic or the WDW Marathon next year :stir: My evil plan would be complete :rolleyes1 Just kidding :stir:

It is 2 AM here and I am having the time of my life. For the past 1 and 1/2 hour, I have been watching the complete tape of the pirate night deck party when we were in Acapulco!!!!!!!!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
It is still going. I have watched Renee and Q do their magic on the stage with all of the dance moves that made that day and night so wonderful. It has all of the fireworks. I will try to put it on the computer for you guys that asked. Remember, 3 rounds of fireworks, conga line, and never ending music. The ship did doughnuts in the harbor.
I have got to get another two week cruise with the Magic.

Okay! Inquiring minds want to know...

What is the walk to Disney Challenge???? :confused3 Are you planning to walk the total number of miles it is from your house to WDW??? Sounds :listen: neat... let me know!!!

We're going to the world in March. Doubt that I'd have enough time to jump on board before we leave :yay: !

Please let me know!

Happy Sunday, :wave2:
Georgie

Georgie

You don't ACTUALLY walk to Disney but you go on MapQuest and find out how far it is from your house to somewhere in WDW - I used the address or Coronado Springs...it will tell you how many miles it is...then you challenge yourself to walk that many miles before your trip to be able to say you "walked" to Disney. I will forward the PM that Celeste sent me with all the other neat stuff....

You can do it Georgie...join us and "Walk" to Disney!!!!!

Yes...it's a good thing to know that there is someone watching my progress...I got up this morning with the best intentions to walk but it is tooooo cold here this morning....it seems overnight we dropped into the deep freeze....I mean my black car is now completely white with frost!!!!!!! :cold:

So I'm still 2 down 1,261.6 to go!!!!
