Christine and the middle DD and DS have been enjoying their time in WDW. Myself and the oldest DS and little DD are leaving soon. I had strict instructions from Christine to keep up with the news while she was away ... I don't think I missed anything (have printed off the What's Going On list for her review ;)).

Looking forward to meeting all of you on Saturday. Safe travels to everyone.

Dan

P.S. For all the Star Wars fans: I'm bringing Episode I and II for oldest DS and I to watch on the laptop in preparation for III. If it is showing on the ship we could have a Star Wars marathon. :teeth:

Jen: the boards are very slow - actually I could not get in for about an our and had to use the code site numbers.

I know it is DIS boards because any other site I tried was lickity split and fast.

s l o w does not even begin to describe it!

I know Scott will know this.... and perhaps someone else...
How long will we actually be sitting in the locks while going thru the canal on 5/20. I want to give my daughter an approximate window so HOPEFULLY she can sign on to those cams and download/ print a pic of us going thru. I have sent her links to both Miraflores and Gatun... I plan on emailing her from the ship when we enter so she can sign on and get them... but need to know how long she'll have. I'm assuming it will be a while... maybe 30 minutes or so... but I really have NO idea.

President??? I want a recount!! (we are entitled to that here in FL) I didn't even run! Okay... so be it.. do you think that will get me an upgrade? :rotfl2: "Excuse me Ms. CM.... don't you know I am PRESIDENT!! Of what?? Well do you see that small country represented over there in line in the matching shirts??":rotfl2:

Whoever starts the LIVE thread... (no fighting now) will you please just post a link here since I can't find my way out of a paper bag without a map. (Thanks Mom:angel: .. I love those little sayings that I thought I'd never use!)

Hey Leslie, We take all three of the boys to Tailend Pet Resort and Spa. You can check it out at Tailend.net. They are the best we can find in the area and pretty good prices considering what everyone else charges. Word is out on them though..lol, they book up very quickly now.

So Jen,

Now you have some beans to spill too! I'd love to hear how you and Jeff met!

Ooh..excellent. Maybe you would considering emailing me those after the cruise if she is able to capture us going through.

Cheryl

Leslie,

What a great idea! None of us would have to be grown-ups any more, and we could say that Peter Pan was contagious, Captain Hook shanghai'd us, and we just had to fly off to Hawaii!

My in-laws just went on a Panama Canal cruise (Princess) and I saved webcams pics for them. If I remember correctly, the ship will only be in full view of the webcam for approx. 15-20 minutes (30 minutes total if you want pics of just the front or back of the ship). That is for Gatun locks only (the Princess cruise did not go all the way through). I posted another website earlier the has 3 PC locks webcams, port canaveral and cabo webcams - http://www.kroooz-cams.com/custom-v...ks really cool - of course I'm easily amused!

I am trying to book reservation for Paolo's online but have difficulty in choosing the date(s). Normally we try to find out our dinner rotation first and then book it so it won't coincide with special events in the dinning room (pirate's, formal, sem-formal night, etc.). Does anyone have a schedule or know when these nights will be? Since this will be a 14 days cruise, could we have 2 nights instead of 1 night at Paolo's?

If this topic has already been covered, I apologized.

Kays Calendar

should do the trick... :teeth:

I kept saving pictures as the webcam refreshed and when you play them back in a slideshow it looks really cool - of course I'm easily amused!

THANKS DAWN!! That's exactly the info I was looking for. So we have a very small window of time to get those shots. Hopefully she'll be able to hit us during at least one of them! I'll tell her to keep saving as well.. that sounds great. Thanks!!

Is this WI = Wisconsin? If so where are you flying to? I'm here in Madison! Tracy

Yup! Etta lives in Salem--Kenosha county--we made it here a couple hours ago. Fly into MKE whenever we come to visit. Midwest absolutely can't be beat. They had an AWESOME mushroom fritata for breakfast $7....with a spinach sauce, yogurt bowl, and a fruit bowl. They brought back "signature service" from Denver, so we got comfy 1st class seats.

Going to dinner at our fav german restaurant in Kenosha tonight, then relaxing and getting her last minute things packed. Leave at 330 tomorrow for FL....

I packed a suitcase in a suitcase, so I have an extra---wanna ride? :goodvibes

(Dialup stinks!!!) See you all soon---oh, and Margaret? If ya gotta ask, you can't afford it.....I have a standing appt.....love ya!

When we went on our RCCL 2 years ago (right now), we started entering the 1st set of locks at about 7:50 a.m. We were scheduled at 7:30 a.m. We arrived about 4 a.m. and the captain started pumping out the water from the ship (whatever it's called) because we were on the AFT and it was noisy, even up on deck 10 in our stateroom. It took over an hour to go through the first set of locks. Hook you up, get the mule trains, start putting water in once the locks close, raise you up, open up and move on to the next set of locks. It was quite a lengthy process.

My suggestion is that you have your daughter check our live thread the night before and once we get the official time in our navigator and the captain makes some sort of announcement (because it is a big thing); that we post on the live thread the approximate "official" time we are suppose to enter the first lock. Then that will give everyone an idea of when to look at the CAM and to get us pictures!

Drive from CYS to DEN to fly to MKE to fly to MCO. Direct. NOT. :rotfl2:

LINDA! You say this all so non-chalantly as if it were old news....LOL Are you psychic or do you have an inside connection???

Georgie: sending you a PM

It's amazing what a Kingdom to Kingdom pin will do. I had to break the person's leg just to get this information! But I will send them a pin after the cruise, as promised!
