Lesley...The pictures are great. Costa Rica looks really beautiful, reminds me a little of Indonesia.

Renae- I've gotta get the camera out a figure out how to resize the photos from the other night- maybe tomorrow. I'm glad Eric enjoyed Noah, I do too... :rotfl: I emailed my SIL to tell her about the upcoming crop in October...to prepare her. I'm getting excited, I'm thinking a halloween at Disney layout- as my family will be going to Mickey's halloween party on 10/20.

Anyone else interested in joining?

To all-
Robb and I tried an experiment. We have annual passes. We have heard that the finger scans identify you, so we wanted to see. We had been using our passes, but on Wednesday- I went in using his and he used mine. We wanted to see what happened, we figured we could just say that we grabbed the wrong pass. Well- nothing happened...we got in using each others passes. So I don't think it "remembers" your finger print or the measurements or whatever it is looking at. We had intended on trying to use our original passes at another park the same day to see what happened- but we didn't end up park hopping. It would have been interesting to see what happened. Robb doesn't believe that it looks at fingers, he thinks that the finger scanner looks for residues- aka bomb material. What do you think Scott?

Celeste,

Can't wait till the big Dis crop! It'll be so much fun to work on pages while remembering the fun we had together. I can bring the larger cutters and stuff that's too hard to bring on a plane.

Hi everyone:

I am going to cc what I posted on another thread. It is easier for me to do that. Hope it is ok.

OK - I did it. Captain John Anderson's personal assistant met us and took us on the Bridge. How wonderful to see all of them working - so efficiently. Push this button and push that button, going from one side of the Bridge to the other - inside and outside on their little verandas.

And I was advised that customarily they do not blow the horn as they leave Nassau but this was an exception. I was there for about 25 minutes all together

And not only did I get to blow it, but they let my DH blow it a second time.

What a treat. I ACTUALLY TOLD THEM THAT I WAS HERE TO REPRESENT THE DIS BOARD and they were listening for it. Everyone on the Bridge laughed.

They also changed our dining rotation and let us eat late supper tonight.

Now it is time for Pirates Night on Deck 9 and 10. There is a late night buffet also with lots of desserts and other scrumptous "stuff".

SO, GUYS, I BLEW THE MICKEY HORN (that is what it is called on the panel) FOR ALLTHE DIS'ERS OUT THERE.

Not sure that we will be docking in CC tomorrow. The winds are kicking up pretty bad. Really windy outside. Chairs are being blown all over the deck and they have extra CM's helping pick them up.

Good night for PIRATES TO TAKE OVER THE SHIP. :rotfl:

Until later, mates pirate:

I booked the 7 day Western for October, 2006 also. Hope I will be able to follow through with it and go. That is the Double Scoop of CC trip.

Who else is going on that one??

Kay,

I'm glad you guys are having so much fun! Do me a favor and go up to deck 10 all the way to the front... lean out at about a 45* angle and yell 'WHOOOOOEEEEE'!!! That's what I'd be doing right now if it were me... I love the wind and waves onboard... I know, it's sick... what can I say!

We will be going 12/2/06 Western. We were thinking about adding on the 12/9 (double dip) cruise but decided not to. I know there are a few other people booked for the same cruise we are.

But I do not remember anyone booking that cruise.

Kay & Harry...I'm so happy for you two...can't wait to see the pictures!!!!!!!

I just sent Kay an email. Here is one part.
I think bragging rights are in order here!!!!!!!
As the official granter of bragging rights, I hereby bestow upon Kay B. Russell the official title of "Greatest Hornblower". This includes all the rights and priviledges pertaining therein.

Hey Kay and Harry! Congratulations on blowing the Mickey Horn. That is so cool, you'll have to fill us all in when you get home how you managed to get selected.

Which October cruise is this? I am 99% sure I am going to book the one that Kim and Bette are on. Wouldn't that be fun if we could all do a mini reunion together? Keep me posted on the date.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

Robin

We are going in circles -

CAPTAIN is on the PA right now. -

WE CANNOT DOCK IN CC - HE IS GOING TO MAKE ANOTHER ATTEMPT IN 20 MINUTES -

DON'T THINK OUR CHANCES ARE VERY GOOD. So we are sitting in the middle of the Ocean.

Seas are 6 - 8 feet high.

35 knots out of the SE - gusts p to 40 knots.

Up to 46 mph -

DENNIS IS TESTING US TODAY.

Celeste,,, No,,,, It has not been worth it. It is fun working with people, particularly for me. The financial aspect makes this not fun. I do not like worrying about the money from not only my aspect, but whether the patient can even afford to do what I recommend. I hate it. Because we are a private practice, we generally cannot even take patients without insurance. This is because if referrals are needed or testing is indicated, the patient has to come up with cash at the place referred before they can get the test done. Most patients just plain and simple won't do that. THerefore , we generally end up sending uninsured patients to a financial aid program, either the medical school or a private hospital north of here. Angela and I don ' t make a lot of money. Primarily because the internist doesn't have a "procedure". We are the ones that people come to with discussions and problems. There is not a good way to be paid for time you spend with a patient discussing. Don't expect an internist to be wealthy. Family practice either. More chance with them as they can see a patient(like a kid) in five minutes. I don't know of a simple internal medicine patient that you can see in five minutes.
If you do the math, eight hours a day, 30 minutes a visit. That comes out to 16 visits. If you decrease the time, you increase the number of visits. Don't forget that during the day, there are patients demanding to have a phone message answered immediately, regardless of your level of urgency. People don't show for a visit. Emergency room calls, other doctor calls, your personal life troubles and the next thing you know, people are unhappy. Let us not forget that a large percentage of patients arrive after their appointment and still demand to be seen. Unreal!!!! Then the next patient is late . Particularly if the late person really was sick and you could not say no. So,,,, you are always behind .
Okay, I vented. It has been worth it for Angela and me personally. We , togther, saved the lives of both my mother and her father literally from specialists. They would both have died prematurly. That did make it worthwhile.

Hi Everyone:

We finally docked in CC at 1:05 p.m. EVERYONE IS SO HAPPY - especially the children.

Off to the PO to mail cards and have a good time.

But we had to eat onboard - NOT ON THE ISLAND. That's a little bummer in itself.

But it is actually nice outside, but a little windy. Everyone has kites to fly once we get on the island.

until later

This called for dancing bananas

Gosh is it slow here today....I just went to the scrapbook store to buy stuff for the pages I am designing for the October Orlando scrap(and other stuff)- I made it out of the store only spending $60.00- miracle!

Does anyone know if the firsttimers ever come to this site anymore? I have a few people who are trying to convince me to change my "major" in grad school from acute care nurse practitioner to a nurse anesthetist. I wouldn't mind asking them a few questions....

Can't we find you one? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Actually I know an internist who do some additional school for cardio and does caths...that is a $$$ procedure. (My internist does stress tests)

Don't worry....you still make more than the nurses do. ;)

Hey Celeste, If you have a chance to become a nurse anesthetist, I suspect that it is a very well paid job. Thanks for the suggestion. Treadmills are okay, but they require a person that is available the entire time and you must also have emergency equipment available. It might be a good idea if we did them routinely. But since it is not a routine test , it is better just to refer to the places that do them regularly. I believe it also changes your malpractice level for insurance. ie, it raises it.
A friend of mine left internal medicine and went into anesthesia. I have no doubt that he is very wealthy at this point. They make very much money. You need to investigate it. It makes cents(pun).
Kay was on the island and has been emailing me with updates. I haven't heard lately since they docked.

Good Morning All.
Lovely weather this morning, but it will be hot one today.
It is also a sad day.
Our cat, Furval, passed away Friday evening after a long fight with kidney failure.
Tippy, Lee and I will miss him.
