Good morning all!

Happy Mother's Day to each and every DisMom out there!!

I received a nice (early) wake up call this morning...at 3:35am (an hour ago, here in California) an earthquake (only 3.4), but centered a mile from our house, woke me and now an hour later, I'm still awake!!

Ugh! Isn't this the one day of the year, I am allowed to sleep in?? Oh well, I am going on vacation in three days!!!!

This is a fine example of why I live in Florida. We may get three hurricanes in six weeks, but at least we have several days notice. In California, the earth shakes without warning.

Too funny!!

No, no damage, no one hurt. DD didn't even wake up! It was quite a jolt though. DH said it must have been close since it was such a strong jolt. Of course, I laid there waiting for an aftershock...which never came and then I figured I better get up and check the USGS website to see how strong and where it was centered.

I have lived in CA for 9 years now and this is only my third earthquake...thankfully, they have all been small like this one!

Now, I need to figure out what to do with my morning???? My sailaway gifts are finished, packed and mailed. We finished packing our suitcases yesterday. I suppose, I could work for a little bit...nah, it's Mother's Day....I'll turn the TV on and see if there's an old western on!

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!! I hope all the Mom's on the board have a great day. I managed to find my Mom a Mickey Mouse Mother's Day card - I thought it was perfect with our cruise only 6 days away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to see those M&M's - they are too cool!!!!

Must go and pack today....we leave in 6 days.....

Hello all....

10 hours and counting until I am off for WDW!!! I am so excited...yet exhausted. I am hoping to be finished and in bed by midnight with all the stuff. The girls are working feverishly on finishing up our sailaway gift....

They wanted me to share it with you...and in all the excitement they asked if I could share with you as they (and me) are too excited to wait...so please forgive the indulgence here...

It started when we were trying to come up with something and batting ideas about...

And I guess it helps to explain that the girls call me "NEM" which is their interpretation of "Auntie M" which is what I was going for originally....so, there will actually be 3 little peeps calling out my screen name throughout the cruise...LOL. So, keep and ear out and if you hear "NEM! NEM! NEM!" (and you will) that's me!!! But I digress...

So, given the NEM in their lives....the littlest one (that speaks), Beaux, has somehow confused MnM's with her NEM so whenever anything comes with MnM's she always says she wants NEM's on her ice cream or a NEM cookie whatever...makes us giggle every time.

So....also taking into account that rumor has it MnM's have been discontinued in scoops......we decided to bring custom MnM's for our special cruise friends that have been making this past 6 months so great!!!! (although the girls have a little something different for the kids on the cruise, but we will save that as a suprise)... We are truly grateful for all you have done and the hard work you have put in this past year to make such special times for people you have never met.

Im going to try to post a pic - (these little suckers were hard to take a pic of...) but the phrases we used (that met the guidelines and fit on the the M) were

-Kingdom 2 Kingdom (the only way it would fit on the little thing...LOL)

And then we dropped in a couple of pink ones with our names, so that you guys knew they were from me and my sister and the girls.

So, we hope you can use them on your ice cream or take them with you to the movies and have a treat on us!! Although I am a bit worried about how to make sure everyone gets theirs...we dont really have them labeled by room, so as much as I hate it, I guess when they are gone , they are gone...although we have about 200 bags and a few back up plain green (no writing bags)...(if anyone has any good ideas about how to best distribute then I would be happy to hear them)

Thanks - this got awfully long winded....but I look forward to checking in with you guys from WDW during the next week and cant wait to meet you all!!!

To most of you, today is Saturday- for me it is Wednesday. I am half way through my work week!!!

Ask me what I did today- just ask me....



Today, I stopped my patients heart and restarted it.....on purpose!!!

Is that not cool? We needed her heart to stop beating in the rhythm it was in- so we stopped it. She was "clinically" dead for 3.8 seconds and restarted in normal sinus....SO COOL!!! (Her family thought it was pretty cool too!)

This is part of the reasons that I am a nurse.


By the way...I got my documents!!! Finally!



Even though I'd rather do the banana dance for the heart- that was MUCH cooler than documents!

I'm off to bed- more work in the AM

I don't know. I don't think it's very likely that anything will be lifted from the fish on the first day. I imagine that at least 90% of the people on the ship wouldn't even think of stealing something from another room. As for the rest, I think they will be so busy on the first day that they won't have had enough time to become bored and get into trouble. It's a lot more likely that someone will help themselves to little presents that are sitting out on tables at the sailaway parties. Most probably wouldn't understand that it's a private group since they won't be private parties. We can't exactly keep other guests from coming into our "claimed" areas for sailaway.

As much work as it is to produce DVDs and ship them, I have to say that I'm really glad I don't have to worry about any of that while I'm on the ship

We are not going to leave our sailaway gifts the first day in the fish.. I think we will leave ours a couple days later... probaly the first day at sea...

The seaweed wrap didn't take inches off -- I wish it did!! I'd be having it daily. But from a relaxation standpoint, I was almost in a coma when finished. I want to try the mud room this time. It's not a proper spa visit unless I get something slathered over my body.

The Ionithermie Detox (the official name is now Ionithermie Cellulite Reduction - don't like that name for several reasons) claims to takes 4 - 5 inches. Now here is the catch. It is a total amount from across the body. So you go through the treatment, and 1/2 inch from right arm and a 1/2 inch from the left arm, and VOILA, you are down an inch. I suspect it's a lot of water that is being expelled from the cells. But if the outfits are getting tight, I might have to go for it.

Maybe if you do the 3 treatments like they recommend, there is some lasting benefit. I have always thought it looked like an interesting experience. But $145 for a 50 minute Ionithermie or $176 for the 75 minute seaweed seems like a wash.

I have never desired the Castaway Cay Cabana Massages. Outside / open-air doesn't sound so bad, but the 90 degree temperature and humidity doesn't seem all that attractive. I read on other posts that the Rainforest Room was increased to $75 to try and reduce demand. I'm sure I'll still get the daily pass even if it is $150, but I may find I have to swap out getting the Seaweed for relaxing in the Rainforest so my onboard account doesn't sky rocket to something equal to the national debt.

Six days to go...

On a non-Spa related note, Georgie, don't let the users get you down. I'm in a battle with mine right now and can't wait to evaporate for three weeks. Maybe when I get back, there will be a new sense of respect for what I do for them.

Hello!!! First, thanks so much for the Birthday Wishes. It was so cool to be in WDW for my birthday. I rode "Soarin'" and then I (get ready, this is a shock) went to Downtown Disney for some shopping!!

The Press Event was the most amazing, outstanding, incredible experience. Let me tell you, Disney sure knows how to throw a party. Lots of food, lots of drinks, lots of Streemosphere, lots of celebrities, and there I was in the middle of it all. I still can't believe it.

Our docs finally came while I was in WDW.

For those of you visiting WDW before the cruise, you have got to see the new stunt show at MGM and ride "Soarin'. They're fantastic! If you're able to get to Downtown, stop into Goofy's Candy Company. I behaved and only took some notes for the DIS, but oh how I wanted to make my own treat and build my own cup.

On a spa related noteo you think they've done away with the Alpha Capsule? I also was planning on the salt glow and that's not on the list either....

DCL says they have no info on whether they are still available onboard or not....they said to check when onboard...thanks for that!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone

We spent the day yesterday at Disneyland. Got the see Linda's (seaulater) DD perform with her group. They we great.

We had a mini dismeet. Linda (seaulater) and DH Robert, Tony (aphoenix) and DW Adrienne, Lesley (tink33) and DH Time, and Shannon (eeyorefreak) with son Sam and Mom Linda. Had a great time meeting everyone.

The park was packed! Lots of great new stuff to see and do. Everyone staying a few days after the cruise will have a great time.
