Celeste,

Thanks for the news about North Salt Lake. I always have to hear about Bountiful weather, no matter how long I live in Florida!

Renae

Renae,
I grew up in North Salt Lake- anytime you want to know anything about the area I can call either my Mom & Dad, sister or brother- they all live in North Salt Lake. I lived on Orchard Drive until I was five- then I moved up on the hill in the original development built late 70s- early 80s. (my dad built lots of the houses up there)

My sister and brother live up by Eaglewood golf course. I never thought so many of my siblings would live so close together.

I hope you didn't go to BHS or VHS? I went to WXHS. :Pinkbounc

I am guessing you used to live in Bountiful?

PM me and I'll tell you my maiden name- you might now some of my family members who live in Btfl.

Hey there!

Thanks for the invite! I just looked at our flight arrival time and we probably won't even be checking into the Rad until 6:30 or maybe even 7 - boo hiss. Wanted to make use of the pool, too. Just not enough time in my busy vacation schedule!

I appreciate the offer... looks like we'll most likely miss Grill's this time around. But there is always next September! :cheer2:

Anyone up for show and tell? I'm sure we did this about 500 pages ago, but now that the cruise is almost here, maybe we should share some info with each other.

There you go. That gives you a little information about us. How about you?
Ken

Hi all,
I kind of did this when I joined...but
I work full time as an adult intensive care unit nurse, I am also in grad school at Rush University in Chicago. I grew up in Utah. I have been married for (almost) ten years to Robb and we have a 6 year old son- Noah.

I had to ask Robb exactly how he wanted me to explain what he does- this was his reply....
Research microbiologist for a pharmaceutial company....well there you go. He was born in NY.

Noah is in kindergarten and will be missing his graduation to attend the cruise.
Noah was born in Massachusetts.

We have lived in Illinois for almost three years and prior to that- Massachusetts.

NEXT PLEASE... :teeth:

Wahoo! I did get my confirmation for the Bounty Adventure in Curaco. Very excited.

And, for all the newbies. . . I am the keeper of the Excursion lists. If you want to see who is going with you, PM me and I'll add to the list. Here are the links:

Castaway Cay & Curaco . . .
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=7885056&postcount=5837

Acapulco . . .
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=7885237&postcount=5840

Matazalan . . .
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=7885203&postcount=5839

Cabo . . .
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=7885365&postcount=5842

I also got a confirmation for the Bounty Adventure today. I had put in a reservation for me and my friend Harry in Michigan. Got the same (probably)email from the captain (but he failed to answer the question I wrote in the "special request" box) saying the pick-up is at 9:15.

I'm confused about the links shown above and in all the updates from Peter: These lists don't appear to me to be updated at all -- do I need to do something I don't know about? For example only caraeric is shown as participating in Scott's snorkel outing at Castaway Cay (I know there are a lot more). Also, the Bounty Adventure is not even listed for Curacao.

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious. :confused3

I was just on the main cruise board and saw that someone on the May 28th West Coast cruise received their documents today! :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

You know Laurie, I been asking the same thing...the bad news is, the last Disney Cruise I was on - in Jan. 2005 - I didn't get my docs until just about a week before. I was about ready to pull my hair out.

I'll start.

Shari and I are both CPA's. I work for the Ventura County Superintendent of Schools Office and Shari works for a CPA firm that does school audits. I direct the business office that monitors the budgets and runs the financial systems for the 20 school districts in Ventura County. Shari audits a number of school districts around Southern California.

We have two children. A son (Matt) thats 26 and a daughter (Staci) thats 13. Staci has been on 4 Disney cruises and is a little put out that she doesn't get to go on the 14 repo. Matt hasn't been on any Disney cruises and thinks he would be bored to death on a Disney cruise. We've been on 4 Disney cruises - a 4 day Magic in 1999, a 7 day Eastern in 2001, a 7 day Western in 2003 and the 10 day xmas cruise in 2004.

Shari loves to do scrapbooking, counted cross stitch and jigsaw puzzles. I spend a lot of my extra time on a bicycle getting ready for my 4th San Francisco to LA fundraising bicycle ride in September.

There you go. That gives you a little information about us. How about you?
Ken

Okay...we'll be next...

DH (Prince Charming) is an expert witness in construction litigation and I am a stay-at-home mom who also does the accounting for our consulting business. DH was born & raised in San Francisco and I grew up on a farm in Illinois. Quincy is 4 and is finishing her second year of spanish immersion preschool. (are there any spanish speakers out there?)

We have never been on a Disney cruise. We bought a home with my parents in Florida this last year and so visited WDW five times last year. Our favorite part is the Magic Kingdom. While there we love pin trading and getting character autographs.

DH enjoys his early morning jogs and is a fabulous cook! I am taking spanish lessons (trying to catch up with Quincy!) and I love to bake. We enjoy having friends and family over for dinner and parties. We love to travel and are excited about our two big trips this year...DCL 14 day Cruise of a Lifetime and vacationing for a month in Costa Rica (one week at Spanish language school).

We look forward to meeting and sharing this adventure with each and everyone of you! pirate: pirate:

Peter Here also In Construction I Do Construction SURVEY
That means when you seee a New Road Or Building ...
A Surveyor Has had a great deal to Do With it..
Ok Have To go Out The Door..

One other thing if something goes Wrong it Was survey's fault..

Peter

Eric and Renae,

I'm a WDW cast member about to start at Port Orleans front desk. My eventual goal is Concierge at one of the 'big 5' resorts. I love to scrapbook, cross-stitch and make cards. I teach classes here in craft-deprived Orlando. I read when I can and am nuts about snorkeling.

Eric works for a company that owns Westgate time shares, doing statistics and reporting. He's a seasonal CM at Cirque' de Soleil. He's also part of a team developing a new concept in condos, and hopefully will break ground this fall. He loves business, cruising and movies.

We lived in Bountiful Ut. for 18 years until our 2nd WDW vacation and decided we needed to live here in the happiest place on earth (and retire from shoveling snow, lol)

We have 3 grown sons, and in the last year have aquired two wonderful DDIL's! That is a great blessing and we love spending time with them. Having the 'boys' grown up leaves us more time to cruise, which makes us smile quite often...

so, who's next?
Renae

Okay I guess I'll go next.

I'm single (too picky, can't find a guy that likes Disney as much as me!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ), 36 years old and a Certified General Accountant (CGA) and I work for the Federal Government of Canada. I work in the Income Tax Division (hey someone has to). I am currently an Appeals Officer, which means if you you feel that your Income Tax Assessment is incorrect or you were audited and again you believe that errors were made, I may be able to help you. Prior to that I was an Auditor assigned to the Underground Economy Unit, auditing individuals and businesses that are operating on a cash basis and not reporting the income, thus not paying Income Tax (and other Government taxes). I love my job and the fact that I have very understanding bosses that are letting me use 3 of my 4 weeks vacation in a row!!!!! (one is even a Disney Nut too - in fact we were at WDW at the same time last December but didn't run into each other).

My Mom, Margaret, is 69 years old and retired. She was a stay at home Mom when my brother (who's going to be 40) and I were growing up. Before children, my Mom was an executive secretary.

My Dad passed away almost 8 years ago and I live with my Mom. We are both Disney Nuts as evidenced by our "Mickey Room" in our house and my personalized licence plates for my car "ESUOM M" (hint...read it backwards!!!). Right now these plates are not on my car because I have personalized plates for my other obsession, Josh Groban that read GROBNFAN. If you don't know who Josh is, he's a singer, like Pavarotti, and he sings You Raise Me Up - he's really great!!!!! My Mom is also a huge Josh fan and we were lucky enough to meet him backstage on her birthday last year in Pittsburgh, PA.

We feel that my Dad is looking over us and wanted us to experience this cruise because we took a 4 day Wonder cruise in November and inquired about the Panama Canal cruises and were told they were sold out. In January 2005 I called DCL to inquire about doing a back to back 7 night Eastern & 7 night Western and the CM asked why I just didn't book the 14 day Panama Canal crossing cruise. I advised I was told it was sold out and she said thatt here were cabins available and I asked what categories and she said 9, which was want we liked. She told me the price and I had to think about it (after all we were just back from Disney). She said she'd hold it for 24 hours...I only needed 2 hours...I called back and booked the cruise and the rest is history.

In my spare time I enjoy shopping, scrapbooking, cross-stitching and gardening and my Mom enjoys shopping, gardening and sewing.

Elaine

HI Guys,

I will go next....

Mom and I are the travellers in our family. No one else really has the desire to go any place... Mom is a widow and retired. She is addicted to Counted cross stitch and travel. The rest of the time she is at home taking care of the house and the animals and me if I need it...

I am a laboratory director, Like many on this cruise I come from a level 1 trauma hospital, but left the lab for a private research laboratory in the petroleum and engine failure sector and with zero stress.
Love going to work in blue jeans / short/t-shirts... I am a Disney freak !!! have over 75 boxes of Disneyana from the early 30's on. Really need to start thinning things out...

For those of you who have not yet met Peter ( hygiene99) he is a riot, and Jen is soooo sweet... We spend a lot of time visiting the few disers we know in the far northeast..

Who is Next........

Okay our turn.

DH and I will be married 30 years this December. DH will be turning 50 in August. So we will be celebrating with the REAS package on the cruise.. Originally from New York moved to Florida 10 years ago and never looked back… LOL…I am a Cost Recovery Analyst and have worked for the same company for 18 years now. My husband is a system administrator.

We have two adult children. Our daughter is a Captain in the Air Force and she is now an instructor for the F15E Fighter jet. .and yes she has been overseas. Our son is just finishing his third year in college and works part time as a life guard at Disney. .

Oh Yeah forgot!!!!!!!! This will be our 14 cruise and 9th with Disney…

Camilo and Liz

Since I am up a little early also, I'll go next:

Harry and I live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

I first went to DL in 1971 with my ex-husband at that time on our way to Europe and loved it. That was my first cruise also, as we came home from Eurpope on the Queen Elizabeth and it took us 3 weeks. It was fabulous.

I next started taking my children on Carnival cruises and would let each one of them take a friend on their birthdays and we did this every year for many, many years. Carnival is wonderful also. Today my youngest DD-31 cruises several times a year. For 2 years she worked for a large cruise line in Miami and cruised many times free. Two years her company sent her to Alaska for 2 weeks - so they could see the packages they sell - and they let me go free and that was an awesome trip and I'll never forget it.

My oldest DD-32 was born on the unofficial day that WDW was open, 10/25 and it is history from there. Have been so many times I lost count decades ago. We live less than 3 hours away and I would go each and every week just to go to DTD to walk around;

My DH is retired from the US post office. I have been a paralegal for 40+ years. In mid-2003 I became very sick with Lupus and my kidneys failed and I went on cobalt treatments (a new treatment - they said) for it. One day I just didn't show up for work and haven't been back since.

I ended up in the hospital and didn't come home permanently for a year. Was on life support for over 6 months. I have had 6 operations to repair a ventral hernia and had severe skin breakdown and would not heal. I had aleo-derm cadever skin grafts three times. My last operation was 11/04. I had several grand mall seizures during all of this also.

My medicals to date are over 2M $$'s and thank goodness insurance has paid a great deal of it.

I am healing today and am due to have another ventral hernia operation, which I am told will be the worse one yet.

SO, we have decided to take four cruises this year. Our Panama cruise is the first one and I intend to have a great time on all of them. It will be my blow-out year. Then the 3rd week in Nov. I'll schedule the operation, if something has not intervened and I have to do it before.

Back in 1972 I had a car accident and had my right foot severed from my leg. They did re-attach it but I have many problems now with it. My sickness has aggravted it and I now have to have the leg bone fused to the ankle bone. I will also schedudle that at the end of the year. I will be off my feet for 4 months and in a cast for four months. That will be a long healing process.

AND MY ATTITUDE towards life has changed drastically. I don't take things seriously anymore and just take it a little at the time.

I was an avid bowler before sickness and was going Pro, but I decided to stay home with my children as they were growing up. Great decision.

DH is in bowling also and on his retirement he was in charge of our local bowling association for 22 years. He now takes care of me and sees that I get to all my drs. apptms. each time they are scheduled.

We have been married for 7 years and he was a god send to me. We knew each other for over 30 years before we married. We were both alone for over 7 years before we married. His wife passed and I divorced my ex in 1990. We met through our bowling here locally.

In my real bad times my family comes to stay with us and helps out tremendously.

Well, I made it this far and intend on going the rest of the way.

I look forward to meeting all of you and have a dang good time. I might do it slowly, because I can't walk too well now, but I do it when I can.

WE ARE CRUSIN' IN ABOUT 3 WEEKS.......... :cheer2: :cheer2:

I didn't proof read this so, if typos, please try and figure it out. :rotfl:

Guess I'm next...

As you might know I'm a nurse, right now back doing what I love, NICU nursing. I was in the Air Force until last July when I seperated. Orginally from NJ, moved here in 2000 to be stationed here in Tampa.
Jeff is a Network Administrator for the local Goodwill. He's also a monorail pilot, private pilot, little league umpire, former EMT, and general jack of all trades. We've been married since 2002, been together since 2000.
We met on the RADP chat room (Beth and another chatter Pam "set us (meaning me) up".) We met and not that long afterwards fell in love. Jeff didn't have to think twice about moving to Florida with me, he's the bigger Disney nut.
No kids yet, we have two beagles Copper and Josie who mean the world to us. They are our practice children, hopefully next year we'll start on the real thing.
We both love to travel, we went to Australia and New Zealand for our honeymoon, and since then to the Caribbean, Germany, France and Mexico. Hopefully next year we'll finally make it to Hawaii.
I lvoe to read (Jeff keeps threating not to let me buy any more books), Jeff loves his computer games, esp World of Warcraft.
I guess that's about it. We both talk to much, tell bad jokes and generally make fools out of ourselves, but usually just to give people a laugh.

OH - I forgot to mention my DS. He'll never forgive me.

He is a pilot/instructor in the Army. He was one of the ones that had to spend 16 months in Iraq and is home now and stationed in Hawaii.

He is renewing his marriage vows on the beach in Hawaii in October and we are going over for that also.

He retires when he is 42 in 2-1/2 years and wants to work for UPS or FedEx flying.

PETS AKA CHILDREN AT HOME:
Shelby: 12 yo Cocker Spaniel
Theodore: 15 yo pure black kitty
Many Squirrels that lurk in our backyard and hang out on the fence

Ok - I'm done for now.............. let's keep it going

Good morning everyone! :wave2:

My turn! I am divorced (since 1994) and have one daughter Aimee who is 18. We currently live in Connecticut. I relocated here from Southern California in 1981 (was only going to be for a year) I was born and raised in California, and couldn't even count how many times I have been to Disneyland. I grew up with it, and even was born the same year it opened!

I am a customer service rep for a very busy mail order company, and have worked at the same company since 1981 (with the exception of 5 years to stay at home when Aimee was born)

Aimee just started her first year in the BFA program at Florida State University in Tallahassee. She loves theatre, and they have one of the top 10 schools of theatre there. One day she hopes to be a stage manager. In the many trips I've made down there in the last year, I have fallen in love with the area. Currently I am having a home built, and it is supposed to be completed in September! I can hardly wait to get out of Connecticut! My Mom recently passed away, and since Aimee is away at school there is really no one left here for me. This area of Connecticut has become really overpopulated, filthy, and crime is at an all time high. Getting away from the snow will be nice, as well as Florida residents rates on both Disney and Aimee's tuition!

This will be our 6th Disney cruise and we are so excited to meet all of you, and share in this Magical first!

I first set up the Excursion Lists for excursions offered by DCL. Then, the others popped up and I never added them to the list. I'm happy to add 'non-disney' excursions . . . Just send along the info.
