okay, I'm missing something. What's with this mega wine tasting? How much does it cost?

Haven't decided about the snorkel meet.. you all are planning way too early for me.

There is a huge amount of information being shared with the wine tasting, dive trips, snorkling....

I know that tiggerfan & Jan have a great website listing who's going on the cruise along with some other goodies.

Would it be helpfull if we put up a web page that lists what things all you wonderfull westbounders are planning? I'm willing to help out and put up some pages listing what is planned and who has signed up if that would be helpfull. Of course I need somebody to pass me some of this information.
I don't want to intrude on all the work tiggerfan has done but I'm floating out the offer so if you guys think it's a good idea let me know.

Also I have borrowed the fine idea from the east bound cruisers and everyone is welcome to use chat feature that I just added to my site.

Lynn: Talbots is having one of their catalog sales...60-70% off. Try talbots.com. I usually have good luck finding special dresses for both formal and semiformal nights.

JenKatt, Linda and Kara can you give us newbies some ideas of what has been done in the past for sailaway gifts on other cruises.

Regina: Thanks for the excursion meet times.

Linda: Wow! What a great group picture.

DVC Minnie
Fern

Got Lenny Added to the list.

Thanks for helping Lynn out, with the dress situation, something tells me she may be getting more than one. :) I kinda tricked here to putting her question here, tee hee.

Ennisb, There is a link to planned activities on Jeff's site. Try this link, www.tiggerfan.net/canal/events.html

I want to let all of you know that Dreams Unlimited has graciously agreed to sponsor the wine tasting parties on the two repositioning cruises.

Just bring the wine and Dreams will take care of everything else.

I've been in touch with kpros and I'll be happy to help all of you with planning this event. :)

Iron Charity Bonney,
As you will see from the above quote, DU has made a wonderful offer to sponsor our wine tasting party. All you need to do is bring a bottle (or 2!!) of wine to share!

Laurie

Thanks for your suggestions, will keep trying ebay, have dealt with Chadwicks several times, they just don't have anything interesting at this point, and we do not live near any of the big stores, but we will try overstock.com also. Your suggestions are much appreciated, I have not had much luck with the catalogues I usually buy out of (everything much too casual). Lynn

Hi Lynn
Not big into dresses but I Think Macy and some of the other Newyork designers would give You a Good Deal . LOL Just have Scott work A little harder...

Happy to see you on the boards ..

For those shopping for clothes...as said above, Dillards has (and is having) great sales. I *LOVE* Dillards but they aren't really local for me. If you are visiting Orlando the Florida Mall has one. Also, I never like Macys or expect service, but the Macys (or Burdines-Macys in FL) at the mall at Millenia had a wonderful store with a great selection. Can't say much for prices...did all my shop at Dillards and the sale rack at Saks 5th Ave ...Saks had some GREAT deals (and some not so great deals...left the $100 t-shirt on the rack...) :)

That's get news, and it's very thoughtful of Dreams to do this.

So, if you are interested in tasting wines from around the country, let us know if you haven't already. We will post a list of those interested from time to time so we won't forget. Right - who would forget about drinking wine (or a beverage of your choice) with friends on the Magic. How much better can it be.

Thanks Dreams for your support!

Ken

We would love to join the wine party too if we may. Thanks & let us know what you need. ::MickeyMo

Do we need to arrange shuttle transport from the port to the GC prior to cruising? Sorry if this is a repeat... I've been trying to catch up for a bit. ;)

We should start a list of FAQs.

A buddy of mine returned from a cruise earlier this month and he said they shot fireworks from the Magic. Has anyone experienced this lately?

Have fun!!!

The on-board catered wine tasting party is (for now) scheduled to be held in Sessions (the night club lounge) and will be hosted by Dreams Unlimited. (Thanks again, DU!) Everyone will bring wine of their choice...favorites or regional varieties. I have it noted as scheduled for 4:00 on the first sea day but things might have changed since that time was discussed....

Hi Steve:

If you know you're going to need the shuttle why not schedule it now?...Cancel later if something better comes up?

Had fireworks on the 10-day in December but I think I'd already crashed. There's something about sleeping while being rocked....Zzzzzz thud...

Actually, we had talked about it being on the first sea day (which is Monday). The final plans however won't be official until DCL makes their plans and decides which room is available. So it may be some time before we have a firm day and time for the wine tasting party.

Thanks Lynda!

Booking now is an excellent idea. Any recommendations on a company, or will Disney offer a shuttle servce? We just booked the cruise on 12/30. My goal is to take care of all of the "little" things now and relax until the cruise. Providing my project at the office slows! lol.

We are staying at the GC until 5/31 and flying out of LAX to Orlando on Southwest midday. Any tips to get to LAX would be greatly appreciated.

SIDE NOTE: For everyone planning to visit WDW before or after the cruise, please ensure you abide by the speed limits on property. The Sheriff’s Department are on property and on a mission. Not that this is a voice of experience... ;) ::MickeyMo

Have fun!
Steve

Steve, I'm trying to find out myself about DCL transportation from the port to the hotels. We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel, and I booked transfers back in May when I booked this cruise. I have an email into DU so as soon as I hear, I will let you know. As far as your getting to LAX, there has been some talk of Super Shuttle: http://www.supershuttle.com/
I have friends and family in Los Angeles area, so I won't need service to the airport. Welcome to our group, by the way!

Robin (aka Brunhilda Pink Toe pirate: )

If this post makes no sense it's cause I've worked to many days in a row, am overtired and had a very bad night at work.

Disclaimer aside, I will update tonite is feasible (I'm also coming down with a cold, thanks Catherine and Amy!) if not tomorrow. I did get everyone's email, and will upload the pics/ fix the posts/ whatever needed to be done. my gmail account is still working and no where near capacity for bouncing emails back. The email again is jenkatt@gmail.com
Lynn, next Florida trip try the Ross store in Brandon. I also second the Macy's at the Mall at Millenia. There are no longer and Burdine's in Florida, they will all be called Macy's within the next month so I do expect the selections in improve. Also, the Dillards in Brandon rocks.
Sailaway gift ideas include bubbles, pens, pads of paper, keychains, antenna balls, lanyards, buttons, toys, chocolates, little shot bottles, just about anything from oriental trading. I've gotten little bookmarks made from people's business cards, little stuffed bears, you name it, people have done it.
As far as a button design, kpros gave me a new idea so I'll work on that today and see what I can put up for people to look at. If anyone else comes up with a deisgn, email me it and I can post it up on tiggerfan.net.
I think that's it. I'll be on again around 3ish so I'll try to work on stuff then. Can't promise anything, this cold is kicking my fanny.

Robin- I will pick up your PM in a sec. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
WEEKEND :worship: :worship: :worship: I like that word! :sunny:
Kim

Steve, we booked with Primetime Shuttle, for both port to GC and then to SNA on 5/31 to get home.

Thanks guys for the help with Lynn's question. I think she is eyeing a couple of dresses from overstock.com. Being the nice guy I am I told her to get both, a present from me. Come on overtime......

Jen, pump up vit C and echinacia, we are just getting over ours.

Here is a list of folks I have for the 5/13 ( AKA Peter's non surprise B-day Party). I know I have missed some folks on this list, so
If I missed ya or need corrections let me know.

5/13 Wine and Cheese Meet

DVC Minnie - Fern and Chet - 2
Littlekid58 Camilo and Liz -2
Tap and Dap Tom and Diane -2
Lenny and Shelia -2

We have SCUBA classes all weekend, but they are fun.

My DD picked up a beautiful formal dress in the juniors department at Dillards for only $9.99 :earseek:
I'm guessing they took a loss on that deal.
I'm not sure if she will bring it on the cruise or not - I'm thinking ease of packing and it definitely misses the mark there... but it's perfect for winter formal!

I know the Dillards around here are doing a take an additional 30% off already reduced prices deal right now. I'm not sure if it continues through the weekend though.

All this talk of getting updated info to Jeff and Jen has inspired me. I'll send our pic over now while I'm thinking about it. No hurry updating though - more important to rest up and fight off the yuks!

Robin,
I'm glad you went with Brunhilda - that one was my favorite.

As we did ours too! A little slow. Sent one over from the Christmas Cruise.

Kara-as you said--I am going to be ready for this cruise.

I will be ready early...........

I will be ready early.............
Too funny, we sent in one from the Christmas cruise too - a picture at our table on the second formal night.

Linda, if I'm ready early for this cruise, it will be a MIRACLE!

Anyone know of a high-paying job that doesn't require a minimum of 55-60 hours a week? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
