I seem to remember that when you get your travel documentation from disney, there is a pamplet from the formal wear company in there. I never have used them, but I have heard they are good.
Me? I am still undecided about the tux thing. Despite what Scott says, I don't think the tux jacket would go good with the grass skirt. :rotfl:

IMPORTANT...
To make sure we get our pins in time for the cruise, I will need to get the payment to Susan by 3/14 the latest. Ideally, we should have the order cut off on 2/14, which would give everyone 3 weeks to get the payment to me. We can extend that by a week, as I am padding this to leave no room for errors. I figure I need the payment by 3/7. Susan says she needs the payment by 3/14, and will order by 4/1, so we will have our pins by 4/29 (this leaves only a 2 week window for error) Once we cut off the orders, I will contact Susan with our total, and then she will get the pricing. I will PM everyone as well as post the price. Initially, I was going to just purchase them, and collect when I pass them out. But we have so many orders, which will amount to $900 or so, and I guess you can figure out why it will be pay first

Payment to me by 3/7
Payment to Susan by 3/14
Susan will order and pay by 4/1

I know this will come as a complete surprise to everyone, but one of my interests is improv comedy. Since DCL took the improv out of Off-Beat, it's up to us to bring improv back to the Magic. So, I'll be "hosting" some improv games on one of the at sea days TBD. Anyone interested? No experience necessary. It's just for fun. Audience members needed, too, but a minimum drink requirement may be imposed to enhance the comedic value of participants. Must be 18 or older to participate. Some restrictions may apply. I have a couple of questions for those people who are linking their late dining reservations...

First, how big are the tables and if there are 20+ people will they just put us at a group of big tables near each other?

Second, DH and I are interested in linking our reservation for late dining and will have our DD4 AKA Pirate Doris the Pink pirate: eating with us. We are planning on having her eat her main course during our appetizer, then taking her back to the Oceaneer's Club for FUN while we finish our dinner. Has anyone ever done this? I read about it from the main DIS DCL page and thought it sounded good.

Hi Denise and family! Welcome! That is so awesome that you won the cruise! You should know about your Disney air 30 days before sailing. If you don't hear from them, call and get your flight numbers and which carrier. Then call the airline directly to get your seat assignments! There have been times when families have been split up.

Ask away if you have any questions! This is going to be so much fun!

Welcome Ashley! As everyone has said, we don't know, and may not know until boarding day, how many formal and semi-formal nights there are. But the educated guess is 2 formal, 2 semi-formal. Themed nights could include pirate night, tropicalifagilisticexpialidocious night (tropical night), and mexicalifagilisticexpialidocious night (mexican night). For a great run down of what these events entail, try checking out the Magical Disney Cruise Guide . This guide also talks about the tux rentals and gives you the web site for the rentals so you could preorder them.

Welcome Ashley! So glad you have decided to earn your ears and join us!

Since some of us recently just got off the 10 day Christmas Cruise, here are the nights they had:

2 formal
2 semi-formal
1 Pirate night (everyone given pirate bandanas at dinner, waiters all dressed up in pirate stuff and hundreds of passengers also, big pirate deck party, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, fireworks, the whole she bang.)
1 Tropical Night (everyone given lei's when they went to dinner)

I think I remember somewhere reading either on the Aug 20 site or here about the tux rental price for the 14 day. If no one knows here, I am sure the Aug 20 thread knows the answer.


I would think they may add one more formal night, one more semi-formal, and who knows what else. DCL is not real good communicating these things, and even though we got 100 different answers from 100 different people at DCL up to the day before the cruise (even which nights were which), when we actually got on the ship and got our first Personal Navigator that night, the nights had changed from what we had been told. So, worst case scenario-the first night on the ship you can figure out what you are going to wear to dinner on what nights!

Okay, that's my nickel's worth!

I thought we were going to get the excursion booklet prior to the 90 days. Nothing yet here....

And since it looks like we will not get our docs until 10-14 prior to the cruise, I wish we could find out some of these things ahead of time.

My next task is determining which excursions to do.

For experienced cruisers, what is the best way to sign up for excusions? Fax, E-mail or calling??

After my initial checking around, it looks like the minimum order for a custom Iron on patch is 100 patches. They'll be 2.00 or a bit less, depending on the company we go with and how many we order. I'm going for the Pin design as the Patch design....

So, for those of you interested, let me know quantity desired and I'm starting a LIST!!!!

I'm just thinking with all those sea days, that we will have more time to get ready. I love to get dressed up. Even when you get your documents, it won't tell you the right stuff. On the 10 day it still said the thing about the Tropical party and nothing about the pirate night. Nothing about number of formal nights, semi, etc. Heck, on the ship, they didn't even get the navigators right some nights!

On excursions, I prefer calling and talking to a real person. And then when they told me you couldn't book until 60 days out, I told them to go ask their supervisor cuz it was now 90 days out. Then when I booked, I made them fax me a confirmation because they were kinda unorganized with the new excursions (we had a pirate extravaganza on the Brig Unicorn which was used in the Pirates of the Caribbean-we were hoping Jack Sparrow would be on the pirate ship, but he wasn't). Anyway, with all the new excursions and messed up communications, we all kept requesting faxes of confirmations so we had it in writing. That would be my suggestion.
