Hey all,

I’m taking my daughter to WDW in early December for a long weekend. We’ve never done the holiday party at Magic Kingdom before and I’m really looking forward to it.

Flying from Iowa to Florida just to do a couple of days at WDW is already a splurge so I cut back (relatively speaking) on lodging and booked a room at All Star Movies. Now I’m questioning it a little bit.

I’ve stayed in All Stars in the past and don’t have any issues with them. My main concerns are whether transportation will be efficient enough and whether it’ll feel “Christmas-y” enough compared to other resorts. POR has been our “home resort” for past trips and I would look into that or POFQ for an upgrade. I just question the cost benefit and would appreciate some feedback.

FWIW, we get in on a Saturday evening and will have the Magic Kingdom party Sunday. We’ll do a park Sunday before the party and one on Monday, then fly home Tuesday.

TIA!

I believe all Disney resorts do a great job celebrating the holidays. I have had efficient transportation to the parks from Allstars, and dicey service from a deluxe. I think it can go either way. If you are concerned about your pick, look into a DVC rental. You will easily fit into a studio and some of the rental prices are reasonable.

I think it will feel Christmasy enough. :)
There will be a Christmas tree, wreaths and probably some Christmas music playing in the lobby/foodcourt area. Same as other values and moderates.

We’ve never had any issues with the AllStars buses, but I’ve never stayed there in December. I’m sure it’s no different than any other time of the year. Enjoy, no matter what you decide!

The All-Stars will definitely feel Christmassy.

Tour all 3 lobbies and check out the themed Trees,Wreaths,etc..

Also many Guests will decorate their windows and doors.

If you are doing a Standard Room, request Mighty Ducks-that section is basically Standard for Movies and Preferred for Music.

Enjoy!

This is going to sound goofy but when I think about disney at christmas, my brain sends up this memory of standing on the bus on the way to magic kingdom, listening to christmas music and enjoying everyone's blinky lights and holiday shirts! So in my mind, the bus transport IS festive :)
Disney Transport buses >>>>>>>>>> “Unfabulous” buses

DD and I stayed at ASMo in December 2019. I think the transportation was fine, I find Disney Bus transportation to be hit or miss anyway.

But the lobby was cutely decorated and there was Christmas music playing in the background. We didn't decorate our doors because we were only there for a few nights, but many people did and it looked cute.

With such a short trip I wouldn't worry about it since you probably won't be spending much time there anyway.
