I always plan our trip to Disney about 6 months before we go. This trip i'm starting over a year in advance, because I want to plan it better, My question is, how long should I wait till I make my ressies for May 2005? I notice with some hotels you can't even make 2005 ressies, I want to hear some feedback on this issue.

Based on your signature you are considering AKL for 2005. You can book a room for 2005 at the AKL now. I would say as soon as you are sure about a resort and how much you are willing to spend per night then go ahead and book that resort. Passes can be bought now to avoid any prices increases that might occure between now and then.

We book everything as soon as we can but then our schedules as are not as up in the air as others so that is also something that you have to take into account. Don't book anything that you cannot cancel until you are 100% sure about your plans.

Book now. What will happen is you'll pay a deposit of one night's stay at current rates. This will guarantee your reservation, ONLY. It does NOT guarantee your rate. When they release the rates for 2005, if it stays the same, you don't need to take any further action. IF there's a rate increase, you'd have to pay the difference. So if a room was $200/night, and went up to $205, you'd have to pay another $5 to secure your reservation.

You have to call 407-WDISNEY, though. You can't make the reservation online.

I made my reservation for September of 2004 in August of 2003.
