Good Very Cold January Friday Morning Fellow WISHWALKERS,

I'm just curious as to what everyone who competed in the 2005 Disney Half Marathon is up to these days. I see many friends on the 2006 thread already training for next year. But, what about those of us who aren't going back. Have you kept up your routine, any routine or have (like me) just hibernated for the last few weeks.

I need some motivation and I'm hoping my good friends will help me out. Since I got home I've done WATP three times and been on my treadmill twice. I have done a fair bit of snow shovelling though.

I'm looking to going to Nashville for March break because right now I can't stand the snow any longer. "I am slowly going crazy.....

So, what's new in your life... :sunny:

Hi Susan,

I didn't train properly since I came back into the training thread in December, but I'm training properly now. I have a 1/2 marathon in Ocean City MD that I'm doing with a few other WISH Walker's.

I doing well with training now and I'll be doing a 4 mile this week and 5 mile next week so it feels good to be in full swing again.

I can't stand the snow anymore either, and I just can't imagine how you feel. I know you get way more than we do!

These days when the weather is so cold I am thankful that I don't have to do a long walk tomorrow. I just need to get it together so that I can do a short walk sometimes.

OMG Susan!! THIS IS SOOOO FUNNY! I GOT ON THE BOARDS THIS MORNING TO WRITE THIS VERY SAME THREAD!

I miss everyone so much. I'm like going through withdrawl! It's so bad! :( I think about everyone everyday. And now, I'm glad to know I'm not alone.

I have been a very bad girl. I have done NO TRAINING at all. As a matter of fact, I feel like I'm putting weight back on and totally out of shape. I think about walking, and think baout eating right, but I juts don't do it. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!?!?!? Does anyone want tostart their weight loss/fitness over again with me? Maybe I just need buddy.

I went back to work last night- had a good time. For anyone with little kiddles.... you should check out the cute spring clothes they have. Makes me wish I had a little one to buy for!

Maybe we should have a weekly check-in thread for WISHWalker Alumni! Then we could keep in touch!

SUSAN!! You can't go to Nashville! I just moved AWAY from Nashville! Jeez - you should have gone last March. ;) Or this weekend because that's where we are headed! LOL

I feel your pain. I still haven't decided if I am going to do another marathon or not. I am contemplating the St Louis half in April, but do I really want to do this again?? I am starting to think that the last marathon really WAS all about the medal!

I am still walking for an hour on Sundays, but other than that, nope - no walking. I miss the discipline of the training, but not enough to jump back into it! LOL!

I do miss everyone from our WISH list. We are a FUN GROUP!

I've decided to do the 1/2 at Disney next year (if money permits) but for now I'm concentrating on losing the rest of my weight and then when real training time comes, I'll be ready. I've been going to Curves when they are open (been closed alot due to snow) and walking on the TM but nothing consistent. It's been hard getting back into the swing of things but I really want to lose more weight.

I'm back to working out. Gotta get to the finish line before the mats turn off :)

I had a 2 week post-event/illness recovery. Now I am back at it. I feel like such a weakling..only did a total of 5 miles this week...can't wait until it gets "easy" again. I am also doing strength training.

Turning this body into a runners body :) LOL--like that will really happen, but I can dream :)

I really miss our threads too. I still haven't gotten back on track the way I should. Oh well, tommorrow is another day.

Dawn

Hi Karen,
I'm ready to recommit to weight loss and exercise (at least I will be come Monday morning ;) )
I haven't done any exercise since the marathon with the exception of park-hopping for 4 days after. I guess since it's been three weeks already, it's time to get back into the swing of things. I think I'll go back to my WATP tapes until some of this snow has melted.

Nancy

So Nancy- do we have a challenge or buddy hook up with each other???? I'll start coming Monday too- it'll give me a chance to REALLY get sick of the yucky foods I've been eating!

I don't mean to crash your thread, but I'm curious. Were you guys the first wISH team to do this or is there a 2004 group out there somewhere?

Dawn, I'm not on track totally, yet, but at least I've kind of started. Used the commitment thread to get a push, but it just isn't the same, is it? I think that having that GOAL made a difference. BTW, I have to hide my scarf from my 13 year old! She tries to take it all the time, and the kids at school LOVE that "there's a Mickey on your scarf". :) It has kept me plenty warm these past few days. :goodvibes

Melanie, I'm so proud of you (and Lisa) for getting back in the swing. You have my good thoughts as you both train.

Karen, I still have a box of turtles to get rid of....and those I don't share. :bitelip: I've been eating them one a day, so the yucky stuff won't be out by Monday.

Mel, we were the first of the crew. Who'd a thunk that so many of us overweight women would strive for such a goal? ::yes::

Okay everyone,

I think we should start a WISHWALKER Alumni thread where we will check-in in order to keep ourselves in line. I'm thinking I'd like to start on Feb. 1st because when I turn over the calendar page I want a nice new fresh starting point. I can't start tomorrow because we're making 400 meat pies at our church tomorrow and I'm responsible for the insides, which requires taste testing.

Karen, would you be willing to start the thread. Maybe we could start one monthly. I desperately need some help staying on track. By myself I'm good until about 9:00 in the morning.

Chimera, we were the first official WISH team. I think that there are some WISHERS' who did it on their own in 2004.

Here's to continuing our healthy lifestyles after our "little" hiatus.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Who's with us??

I'm IN ! Went to Curves twice this week ... that's my EASING back into it. Next week I'll aim for 3 times. Oh, and I guess I should stop eating all that fresh bread, that just seems to call my name ... and maybe the bowl of icing that the sitter sent home with me on Monday 'cause I was in need of sugar wasn't the wisest of choices ... but darn it was good :rotfl2: NO, I didn't eat it all in one sitting, but it was fun sneaking a spoonful of it over the past few days. The kids are wondering why I returned an empty bowl to her this morning when they don't seem to remember having any :confused3

I'm very proud of our 2005 WISH Team ... we've started something fabulous, and it's kind of fun knowing that WE were in at the ground level. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: (that's 3 cheers ;)) for US!

YEAH SISTERS - LET'S REUNITE!!!!!!! Okay - so I don't know a tune like that BUT I know that my buddy group (AnnieT, Evansmom (she is excluded at this time cuz she is going to gain before she loses-baby due in Aug) OhMom, Tammy and myself have all been saying this very, very thing. Excuse me -------our buddy Tammy is NOW - on plan and we are so proud of her getting it going again!!!!!

I am semi-following the MFM recovery schedule, lacklusterly eating what I should and just a general overall feeling that it is really hard to get the "gusto" going again - my sciatica still "acting up" so I tm on and off (today 3 miles), still to durn cold here to be outside walking.

I'll be watching for a FEB 1st thread - I will be there - MISS YOU GUYS ::yes::

HI EVERYONE,

I so miss you guys, here is a :love2: & a  for everyone. What in the heck are we waiting for. LET'S GET THIS WISH WALKER PARTY STARTED!!!!! :cheer2:

Man, I've been lurking around here and posting more on the CB. But I found myself coming right back here to see how everyone is doing. I've been eating at least trying to eat right and have been working out. Today during lunch, I went to spin class. I told James that I wanted to get a personal trainer, so this weekend (weather provided) I'm going to head over to Bally's and see what the cost is. I'm so pumped about getting into better shape and eating right I could burst. James' thinks I'm nut because, I talk about it to him and he gives me the deer in head lights look. So I know I can talk to you guys about it and you all will totally understand.

Anywho I just want to give you guys a little reminder about us ( A very special group of ladies) WISH WALKERS ROCK!!!

I miss you guys too! I am doing okay on South Beach. I have not lost much weight, but I have lost inches. I have been trying to run and walk. I got a bad cold this week, but I think I am on the road to recovery. I walked a mile and a half tonight. I have signed up to do the 1/2 marathon next year. My DH and I even convinced a couple of our friends to join us. A huge thank you to Dawn for making those great scarves! I have to hide mine from my girls. They love to wear it. I'm in for an alumni thread! princess:

Hi WISHWALKERS! I've been doing a big fat NOTHING about starting back up with exercise and food control. I've been using the burried at work and long hours excuse for not doing the shopping/cooking/lunch packing that needs to be done for a healthy lifestyle. And I have NO EXCUSE for not walking, as we're having the best weather down here (OK, a little rain this week, but no biggie). So I love the idea of gathering together and checking in with the people who know EXACTLY how round I am and exactly what I need to accomplish.

So, tomorrow (Saturday) on my way home from work (yes, extra hours) major grocery shopping, produce cleaning, meat grilling will take place. And Sunday, a two mile walk over to my sisters, just to see if my legs still work!

OK Susan! It looks like we have an Alumni theard starting for us on Feb. 1st.... and I will start the thread! I'm such a happy girl now! :) But NOW I need your help. I was gonna bring Mickey sugar cookies into work for Valentines Day- and now I can't! What can I bring instead?

We haven't heard from a few other alumni though- like- I think we need Wishband her- especially since she's stopped smoking. She can do a lot of encouraging! She's amazing!!!

Kim- I gotta tell you that right now, I'm afraid I'd be like your DH James! The eyes in the headlights look is just about all I can do now. BUT I'm ready to recommitt with everyone else.

THE GANG IS BACK! Hooray!!!! Be looking for the thread on the 1st!!!! That would be Monday! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I knew I could count on all you guys to be with me on this. I think that our bodies "needed" a month to recouperate from our huge ordeal. I know mine sure did. And I KNOW it needed all the crap that I've eaten since I've been home as well.

Karen, I'll try and think of what you could take instead of cookies to your party. For me something chocolate would work because I'm not a big fan of it anyways. However, if you brought anything in the bread category, I'd have to kill you because if it's white, processed and near me, it's history. Now I'm off to my meat pie making bee.

Have a super Saturday everyone!!

Today I will drink my water.
