we are looking at heading back to wdw late 2005,i was originally looking at mid-october around our half term dates ( we will stay for 14 nights )
but dh said he would like to go over xmas !!

so a couple of q's october or december ?? pros and cons for both

and also i would love to stay onsite (cheaply) who has been where and whats the prices like

lastly is it better to book flights and accom seperatly and if so who do you reccomend??

thanks guys i never thought i would be planning to go back this soon princess:

I'm guessing you are stuck to school holidays from what you say. Crowds will be enormous over CHristmas. They will be heavy over half term, but not as bad. Your chances of a cheap Disney room over Xmas are probably as good as winning the lottery, however you could get lucky over half term, but you would need to book independently & keep checking for new or better rates. Going so close to CHristmas (assuming you have to wait for term to end), MMVCP would have finnished, however in October you could easily get to MNSSHP. All schools will be out over CHristmas, but not in October. If you have more flexibility & could go beginning of December, you would get all the festivities etc., & probably a good deal (we paid $60/night (incl. tax) at ASMo 3/12 just gone. I wen in 2004 the week before half term & that was good - as well as MNSSHP there was the food & wine festival. If you can make EE you can certainly see alot more, even if the crowds are heavier (& they always will be at w/end, irrespective of time of year, but particularly in Dec). Whatever you decide, have a great time!

ive managed to put dh off re xmas so we are def thinking oct now, half term is not an absoloute but using that week in some part would make it easier to swing it past the school lol

have found a qoute from TCD for 2weeks staying at pop century or all stars incl car hire for £2300 flying on 9th oct (into sanford)

does that seem reasonable?? princess:

hi
We went to disney xmas 2003 and came back on the 1st jan, this is because i work in a school. I thoroughly enjoyed disney at xmas and must say although it was busy, i've been there in the summer when its been busier! We stayed offsite and most of the people in the parks were american families..we've even rebooked for xmas '05 staying at the wilderness lodge.

We have been twice in October and have been pleased with both crowd levels and weather. We have had the odd rainy day, but mostly nice hot (but not too hot) sunshine. The October half term in Leicestershire used to be slightly earlier than the rest of the country so you could take advantage of slightly cheaper flights - not sure about this year though.

This year we are going at Christmas for the first time. It will be our 4th trip, so thought it would be a good time to try out the Disney Christmas magic without feeling the need to rush round and see everything. :) We are going on the 15th of December, so hopefully we will get a week of lower crowds before the Christmas crush starts :)

ive checked on half term and it falls on the week mon 17th oct thru friday 21st oct so that fits in well with my projected travel dates 9th-23rd oct

I've been at both Christmas and Halloween - Halloween is better overall I think.

You have better weather, crowds are less (whilst I loved the parks at Christmas, they were absolutely mobbed - especially MK - and personally I hated that), and I think that Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is much more fun than Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Halloween is so much FUN with everyone young and old getting in costume and Trick or Treat'ing!

Of course, Christmas at the World is unique in itself...so don't get me wrong, if I got the opportunity to go at that time again I'd not turn it down ;)
