We are planning a trip for 2005, Jan or Feb. We have never been at this time of the year and could use all the help we can get. We would like to avoid the crowds. I have no problem taking my DS out of school. We haven't decided on what hotel. Don't really know what kind of discounts are offered this time of the year. We will probally go value, mod or FW Campground.

What is the weather like? We are from NY, and would like to swim if possible.

We will have our own car, so we don't need to worry too much about bus service. Will only use it when DH isn't interested in the parades or if DS#2(6months) acts up.

If anyone could help this would be great.

Thank you .

We usually go in mid-February. Weather is definitiely nice enough for swimming by end of month; somewhat more problematic at beginning/middle of month (for ex. we went Feb 11 - 18, 2004; we did swim during a couple of those days, but on a couple others, the temp never got above 65).

The week of President's Day is when my kids have their school break, so that is when we usually go. It can get pretty crowded during that week, but not quite as bad as later in the spring. Generally, the crowds, while heavy, are manageable.

hey..

my DH and i got married there last feb 17th.. the weather is perfect.. during the day i have pictures of me in tanks and shorts, but at night with pants and usually short sleeve with a light jacket, or long sleeve.. during that time the weather usually varies greatly.. from being near 80 during the day and dropping down to 50 at night..

as far as the crowds ago, like the previous poster said presidents day can get quite crowded.. but before or after that it's perfect.. we had 80 people go down for the wedding and we didn't feel rushed, crowded or anything.. everyone had a great time!!! we were able to almost just walk on rides..

all disney resort pools are heated so you can swim even if it's cool out..

I was there this past Feb. 2 - 9th. Low crowds, awesome weather. No complaints at all. We stayed at POR. Great resort!!!!

PS...Yankees fan here as well

Thanks for all your input. Are there any January visitors out there. I know they have a marathon in Jan, does it get crowed for that.

Thanks again for any information.

LAH....Lets go Yankees.

The weather gets warmer at the end of Feb., so you may encounter some chilly days at the end of Jan. beginning of Feb. I think that is a perfect time to go. No school is out anywhere that I know of, so crowds will not be an issue.
You will probably swim. Most resorts have heated pools, and since 65 degrees outside may seem warm to you, us Florida folk are freezing!
Best of luck! :earsgirl: :earsboy:

NY---I have a client (I'm a travel agent) that goes every other year the 2nd or 3rd week in Jan b/c her granddaughter has her birthday then. She loves it. As one posted earlier, the pools are heated so you can still swim. The crowds are smaller, they have more time w/the characters and not as crowded on the buses. The weather is pretty nice during the days but evenings/nights get pretty chilly. Of course, chilly to me is below 70 so take that w/a grain of salt!! :p

Everyone seems to have covered your questions regarding weather and crowds, so I mainly want to add that as you're researching the hotels, be sure to consider WL and AKL as they are the least expensive deluxes. We've recently stayed at both of these resorts and they are just gorgeous. If you hit value season, you can usually catch a good rate for these two resorts.

But, most importantly, I just wanted to say I'm another fellow yankee fan and am, in fact, listening to the game right now!

I JUST LOVE IT WHEN THE YANKEES BEAT THE RED SOX.!!!!!

SORRY, RED SOX FANS.
