I read some of the trip reports. Many didn't mention whether it was the 12/20-12/27 trip. They just said "Christmas cruise". From what I could gather it was status quo on Xmas Eve and Xmas day. They were still over-joyed with their trip though.

Holidays Aboard Disney Cruise Line Mean 'Walking In A Magical Wonderland' At Private Bahamian Island

CASTAWAY CAY, Bahamas, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- "It's a balmy 73 degrees with snow flurries continuing to fall throughout the day," announced the ship's cruise director as the Disney Magic docked at Castaway Cay in the Bahamas.

Just in time for the holiday season, Disney Cruise Line guests are finding themselves literally "walking in a winter wonderland" -- or shall we say Magical Wonderland -- a new themed decor package that has transformed Disney's sandy private island into a "snowy" holiday hideaway.

In addition to "snow" flurries, guests enjoy seeing Christmas trees, Mr. and Mrs. Snowman (with shell noses and tropical shirts), carolers and a sleigh full of presents in the middle of the Bahamas. Disney characters, dressed in holiday island styles, sign autographs and pose for photos to the beat of holiday tunes. Even the island's tram that transports guests across the 1,000-acre island has been decorated to resemble a reindeer, complete with antlers and tail.

At the beach, families learn the art of sand sculpting. Guests may even catch a glimpse of Goofy on a jet ski as he tries his hand at water sports in the lagoon.

Scuttle's Cove, the children's programming area at Castaway Cay, hosts holiday-themed children's activities all day long. Children, ages 3-7, make candy cane reindeer and paper plate angels while kids, ages 8-12, create snowflake-mobiles and clothespin reindeer.

Whether lounging on a sun-drenched beach, participating in a variety of water sports or indulging in the ultimate island barbecue, Castaway Cay offers an authentic tropical experience -- now with a touch of the holidays -- that every member of the family can enjoy.

Onboard, Disney's Magical Holidays celebration continues:

A nearly three-deck-tall tree-lighting ceremony in the atrium lobby, where "snow" magically falls
A Christmas Day visit from Santa Goofy, with surprises for all the kids
Special family time, when families join together to design and decorate their own gingerbread houses
Our own Disney Cruise Line rendition of "T'was the Night Before Christmas" with a reading by Mrs. Claus and caroling by the main stage performers
Traditional holiday feasts in Disney's three themed dining rooms
Multiple faith and inter-denominational holiday services

I was reading on one of the threads that for every kid that went to the atrium on Christmas morning, Santa was there and gave every one of them a stuffed animal (my guess-Mickey Mouse)

I have PM'd a gal on the thread that went on Dec 20-27, 2003 aboard the Magic to give me any info and to find out if she has her daily navigators. Also, on the thread, it looks like all of them signed up for the Disney Christmas 2005 cruise. I guess what they actually did was book for Easter 2005, and then as soon as they open the Christmas 2005, they were going to move them all.

Do you think 100% of us will want to go again Christmas 2006?

Okay, this may be a really stupid question-- so don't laugh at me (remember I'm blonde)....is there such a thing as battery operated Christmas lights?? We don't have a whole lot of electrical outlets in the rooms.

Totally off-subject.....I was just looking around the DCL stuff on E-Bay....people never cease to amaze me! Someone is selling the Golden Mickeys sign that was stuck on the mirrors on the Wonder the night of the show! $9.99. Someone else is selling DCL shampoo, etc...advertising it as a "Whole Bath Set" or some such thing. The paper luggage tags that are on your bags when you disembark...the list goes on!! Unbelieveable.

Do you suppose that when each and every one of US shows up on CHristmas morning for the customs/immigration thing, they'll give us a stuffed toy????

Oh, and by the way, Christmas 2005....I hope to be sailing on the Magic from California down the Mexican Riviera!!!

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I know I have read it on this thread ( a long time ago now ).

Someone here, on this thread will send a postcard from Mickey, to children inviting them on the cruise.

Who was it again? Anyone know?

My kids do not know yet............what a perfect way for them to find out about their vacation on DCL.

I can't wait to see their reaction.
Especially when they receive this postcard from "the most famous mouse in the world".

Thanking you in advance for any info about who sends the postcards.

afff, there is a thread on the main DCL board to ask for a postcard for your child, verandahman is handling the requests.

If I remember correctly, DCL was taking bookings for the Christmas 2005 sailings onboard. I will contact someone who was on the 2003 Christmas cruise to ask them and to ask about the navigator's. I will report back when I have some sort of answers.

Stace, you can't blame these people for trying to raise a little money to get back on a cruise! Diana

Hi Matt, I remember you. Welcome back! My daughter will be 13 on the cruise, and she's big on pin trading too. Be sure and bring some traders on the cruise. Diana

Hi everyone! Our family will be joining you on this fantastic cruise. It will be our second and we are already extremely excited. My girls will be 5,9, and 12 when we sail. All very shy girls. I hope that they can "meet" someone here before we go!

3princesses.........as soon as my daughter ( 9 yrs old )receives the postcard from Mickey, she'll be chatting up a storm.

I will be sure to bring my pin collection. Maybe your daughter and hi can go to the lobby from 7:30-8:30 when they sell LE pins. Should be fun.
Later,
Matt

Welcome 3Princesses.....

My daughter will be 10 at the time of the cruise - and I'm sure would love to meet your girls. She doesn't know about the cruise yet - but will be finding out in the next few months - if we can make it that long without tellling her accidentally....

There's a whole wealth of information on the 115 pages of this thread - but you'll be getting some PMs and posts telling you all about our plans, who's going, the newsletter, etc.....

Welcome to this wild and crazy group!
