The ship is on the move. 6:08 p.m. EST, I sure hope we leave on time and don't have any delays!

Good morning everyone!

Checking in before race day starts (big NASCAR fans at this house).

Snowing again here in Chicagoland. Light fluffy snow and it doesn't seem to be piling up.

We've decided that we are going to fly down on Friday morning but instead of going to Disney we are going down to Vero Beach for the night. We own at Vero and have never stayed there! My in-laws have and love it so we'd really like to go check it out. Plus it saves us cash as we can use points for our stay. I'm calling member services on Monday to make our reservations. Sorry we won't get to meet all of you staying at the Radisson , but I really think this will work better for us.

GOOD MOOOOORNING ALLLLLL

let a guy listen to the conversaiton and they only get it half right. There were NO rooms available at wdw for the night of 2-14-04:( I guess everyone was taking their sweetheart out for the evening. The rooms available for tonight were those 300+:earseek: . might just stay with the family here and do wdw when we are down at Easter.

I had to get ut of the cold and snow/ice for a few days Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!!

Matt - nice job on taking over the master DCL cruise list! Keep up the good work!

Hello!

Just back from a quick trip to San Fran. OKAY, it was fun and romantic :p , but I still think Disneyland would have been romantic as well! Well, that will be for this summer :earsboy: .

Matt, glad to hear you have laptops--how cool! Do you get to take them home? Do they check one out to your for the entire year? How does it work?

Christy

Christy - San Francisco is a beautiful city but I agree that I'd have rather gone to Disneyland. :D

We may try and go back out next year for the 50th anniversary. Haven't been back for a couple of years and that time I was sick the whole time :(

Christy: Actually the laptop is mine. Student parents buy them and then use them at school. I actually have 2. One is a Gateway with Windows that I use at home mostly and the Apple Laptop I use at school.

The list is hard! lol I get tons of emails every day. Its a hard job but its going okay.

My mom and dad called it my dad loves the house so its probably a done deal that we are moving. I am kind of excited but will miss my friends so much.
Hope everyone had a great Weekend,
Matt:bounce:

Good Morning All!

I'm probably going to jinx us by saying this, but it is warming up here. YEAH!!:bounce: They say we are going to have a heat wave on Wed and it's going to get into the low 40's. It has still been cold around here but the sun has been shinning, so some of the snow is starting to melt. I finally saw a patch of grass (although it was dead) in my yard yesterday.:sunny:

Matt - it's always hard to move. My DD (14yo) has moved 7 times in her life so I know it is not easy. Although you will miss your friends, I am sure you will make new ones in GA and everything will work out great for your family. What part of GA are you moving to?

Trying to get everything organized and final plans made for our trip to WDW in March so I've been real busy. Every one take care and have a good day.

Good morning all! Looks like it is going to be nice here as well. Snow yesterday but fluffy flurries - nothing major. We are supposed to hit 40 by the end of the week as well so maybe some of it will go away!

Have a great day everyone!

Good Monday morning all!

Matt, good luck on the move. Look at it this way, Georgia's a whole lot closer to Florida than California!

We are just a moving bunch on this thread, huh?

Has anyone heard from Karyn since her cruise? I sure hope they had fun. Hopefully when she and Barb get back, we'll see more activity here.

Vicki and GaRry, hope you enjoy your Florida time. Congrats on being able to get away!

Mary, staying at Vero sounds like a good idea for you. I've heard it's very nice.

Things were pretty quiet here this weekend. We delivered DD's girl scout cookies, and had a busy day at church yesterday.

Have a good one. Lisa

Good morning everyone. Glad to see we are active again. It was a little slow for awhile.

Mary, you will love Vero Beach. We own at OKW, but what we have done many times is go to WDW and then add on three extra nights with points down at Vero Beach. It's a great way to relax around the pool and wind down after running 24/7 at the parks! They have a great kids program with activities and a fun lighthouse waterslide at the pool where they host many contests. For children, they also have a teacher come in and teach kids how to swim. I can't remember the cost. It's fun to go when the turtles are out and you go on midnight flashlight turtle hunts. Vero Beach has everyone close their drapes in rooms when the turtles are coming in. They said that they are attracted to the light. Anyway, you will love it. Hopefully, you can get there early enough to enjoy doing some of the activities available. Also, make sure to attend the singing around the campfire if they have it and to make your own s'more. (That's the Girl Scout in me). Hope you can use your points and stay there. If we didn't have 13 of us, I would probably have gone to Vero Beach also. Okay, enough from me about Vero Beach.

This week we break 300!!!! I wish we were on our final 100 day countdown. Although I know it will be here before we know it.

Have a great Monday everyone, auditors are still here and I need to do checks today. Talk to you later.

Linda

Hello...

Raining hard here, but no work and no school :D

Mary--you simply MUST get back to DL. Have you been able to check it out since CA and the new Downtown sector opened? It is so much better than in years past...AND, Tower of Terror will be open this summer!!! Yippeee!

I spent some time yesterday planning our summer trip to DL. Looks like it will be the last week of July. If you book through AAA you also get unlimited fastpasses--FPs you can hold for multiple rides AT THE SAME TIME. That, along with single-rider strategies, can make a trip to DL at the height of summer season enjoyable. I can't decide which hotel though...they all have their merits. I might lean toward GC since we can get five in the room, with the trundles under the bunk beds...

Matt--so your school must have wireless capability??? Does the school have any capacity for checking out laptops to those who don't have them?
Also, what are you doing with the list, LISTMASTER?

Have a nice President's Day,
Christy

Christy,

Yes we were there twice since California Adventure opened. Once not long after it opened and then again on its 1st birthday!

We've stayed at Paradise Pier and Grand Californian. Next trip we'll stay at the Disneyland Hotel because DH has never stayed there. I did but it was long ago!

Disneyland has such a special charm to it! I love the fact that it still has the original Tiki Room - not that "Under New Management" Plus the fact that it truly was Walt's park - where he actually walked the streets.

We really like California Adventure too. Soarin' is our favorite and I can't wait for it to come to Epcot.

I think that is why so many are saying that DCL may reposition over to the West Coast for next Summer. I can totally see them trying to do a tie-in with the 50th. We'll see what happens.

That would be so FANTASTIC--having DCL out of CA. It is a horrid trip from Seattle to Orlando, especially since it is so difficult to get non-stops--a difficult enough trip that it can set my DH to whining about having to do it  . California is a much easier sell!

Mary, I agree about the special charm that Disneyland has. When people ask me how the two compare (DL and WDW), I always respond that it is like comparing apples to oranges. And it is--how can you compare a 47-square mile WORLD to the quaint walk-anywhere-you-want-to-go Disneyland. I LOVE them both!

Christy

Actually yes the school has wireless internet. Also if you are below a certain income they will provide you with a loaner laptop. I am actually looking forward to the move. The house will be nice and I liked living there before. Should be fun. I have moved 6 times so I am sure it wont be to hard moving for me.

The list is hard updating it all the time. Its hard adding 2005 dates.
TTYL,
Matt

Hello everyone,
We made it home tonight. We had a great trip and ready to go back. The countryside was so pretty and the weather was very nice: only sprinkled a couple of mornings and over with by 9:30 or so and in the low 50's.
I will post more when I am able to see straight - vacations sure are tiring ::yes::

Barb - welcome home! Can't wait to hear all about it! Hope you get a great nights rest!

Good morning everyone! How is everyone doing this fine day?

Looks like things are warming up here in the Chicago area - yeah!

Well off to read the boards and then to work.

Hope everyone has a great day. :sunny:

Welcome back Barb! Hope you had fun. It sounds like you did!

We've got to get cranking on this post count!

Hey, I'd like everyone's opinions on a cruise question. DH and I have never been to Palo. It just wasn't on our priority list for the 1st cruise, and then everyone was sick on our 4 day cruise. My in-laws are very simple people, not much on fancy food. I fully expect MIL to choose the steak most nights in the dining room. FIL is a diabetic, so will probably go pretty simple on his choices as well.

I'm thinking that maybe I should just book Palo for DH and I as a nice dinner by ourselves. That way the kids would still have grandma and grandpa there for dinner. I could always book the in-laws their own romantic night, then cancel if they don't want to use it? I'm thinking of the tea for MIL and myself (can't see the guys getting into the high tea thing!)

Anyone have opinions on this?
