After listening to all the weather happening, freezing rain, mud slides, etc....living through a few hurricanes is not all that bad!

At least it was warm during the hurricanes. :cool1: :teleport:
It's all perspective isn't it?

The whole weather and mother nature calamity issue is interesting to me. Why do we humans build our houses and cities right on the edge of something, just waiting for a "problem".

Sometimes (to use a teenage term) stuff just happens. Good luck to all with the weather and aftermath.

What a weird winter we've had! It's 60 here this morning, and going up, but it's going to be 20 by Saturday. Very strange!

Girl Scouts started back up again last night. Boy are we going to have a jam packed spring. 3-4 camping trips, thinking day, a father-daughter dance, cookie sales, planning for summer camps. I told the girls to take their calendars home and have their families mark off the times they were going to be unavailable so we can work in the whitewater rafting trip over the summer. And I volunteered for this????

GaRry, good luck on the test.
This post brings back such wonderful memories. It is hectic, but what wonderful memories you are creating for all those girls as well as yourselves. Have a great Girl Scout year! :grouphug:

As Barb can now tell you, we actually do get some winter here. The rain is unusual, but we're used to having at least some chilly mornings and evenings.

This morning when I got up, it was just over 30° and there was frost. But think how boring it would be if it were just hot hot hot all the time. At least the rain has given us some green to look at. Weeds are green.
Yesterday I started off with a sweatshirt on, then a t-shirt, then the sweatshirt again, and by last night I had on the sweatshirt and a coat. And Jay wonders why I do so muc laundry.
Speaking of which...the washer and dryer are working well. I thought the capacity would be greater. We had a commercial capacity before....these don't seem to hold as much.

Kevin...the wine recipe is working!! If I'd had that on the ship, the top with the pretty red spots would have been totally saved. It's a little harder to get older stains out.

Okay....off to work. Darn it. I really want to start to paint. Really. Anything to avoid all the office work!!

TTYL,
Stacey

Oops, sorry, Sharon.

And did you tell Matt that you will be diving in Cozumel?

Cozumel will not be on our Anniversary night, so night diving is definately an option for Jim. But, I would "feel" so much safer if Kevin were diving with him (Do you think the Safety First Reasoning will work???).

Yes, Matt knows about this trip and the potential diving. He also knows he can't come. He can't miss school and besides - this is a trip for adults. (Thus, why you need to come.) :grouphug:

Hey Kevin, look at this. Sharon is starting to use the same logic we use..."for safety reasons I need this new equipment"...."for safety reasons we need to get is some more training"...."for safety reasons you need to spend $8,000 and join us"

I'm so proud of her!

Hi Everyone,

Thought I would check in and say hello. I am recovering from oral surgery on Tues. Slept most of yesterday thanks to good painkillers. Today I am up, but not too productive. I am soo glad I waited on this. He had wanted to do this in early December. I had a bone tumor removed. He is 95% sure it is nothing to worry about, but I won't have the biopsy results for a few weeks.

I agree about the wacky weather. At least the sun is out here today!

Leslie- Congrats to you and Joe for the Marathon finish. I hope to try it one day!

Lisa- Please let me know if you end up further north. Woodbridge is not too close for us. If not I am sure there will be other opportunities to meet in the future.

I have finally finished my pictures and have them posted on Ofoto. I will try to put a link in my signature. Not sure if that will work.

Okay, sorry, so I am either tech challenged or Ofoto won't let me post a link.
If you would like to see the pictures just let me know and I will have it emailed to you. They really aren't that good. I am disaapointed with my quality and quantity!

LOL, Jim. I think we could actually manage to go for $5000, but that doesn't solve the other problem. You remember our kid?

Tina, I wasn't that pleased with our quantity of pictures either. Seems like we missed a lot. Of course, we usually take pics of our daughter at the different locations, and she wasn't around much to pose. Maybe that's why.

Loan me 7k and it's a done deal. LOL

.

It's over Thanksgiving. Our kids only have 2 days of school that week. If Alicia's is similar? She could miss two days and stay in Daytona Beach with Matt, Lisa, & the Grandparents. (As Jim would say, dilution is positive). Or, could she stay with a dance friend? Keep thinking. I know you can be creative. :grouphug:

I volunteer at an emergency food pantry in Baltimore ( my sister is the director). I was there today and I am glad it was warm today. It can be so depressing on cold, windy days.

Went shopping and got the cutest battery lantern. I like to be prepared in the winter for power outages and this will easy to use. Normally we use the closest light/tap light, I can hang it or prop it up anywhere and it gives off good light.

Kevin, are you starting to feel the pressure yet? Now you know what I go through. Sharon comes off as some very passive person, but when she wants something SHE WANTS IT! She just keeps pushing and pushing and....

Tinksdad, thanks for the recommendation of Blue XT Divers in Cozumel. I'm going to get with them about a night dive.

Tina... hope you recuperate quickly from the oral surgery. Ouch. Hope it all turns out okay for you. I'd love to see your photos if you don't mind emailing me the link. DisneyPinDiva@aol.com

Sharon, are you sure that it's Jim who is in sales? You could clean up, girlfriend! Actually I said we could manage to go for under $5000 (I even called Costco), which doesn't mean we could manage the $5000. See the difference? Of course, things change. I'm pretty sure Alicia would miss three days of school, but let's see, would she like to spend a week with Matt and Lisa? Matt's the cute one, right?

Stacey, what do you think my 13 year old daughter's answer would be? :cheer2:
