my niece, Sarah, is going to Alaska with us. Yeah! We will start looking at shore excursions. The dog sled ride, seeing a glacier, average temp of 65. A lot different from the caribbean.

As an avid Iditarod fan here I would LOVE to do an Alaskan cruise and take in the whole area and culture. I'd be the first to sign up for the dog sled ride.

[Hey Linda!

Great to hear from you!!!

:grouphug: I really enjoyed meeting you and hope we cross paths again on a future cruise!!
:boat:

Which reminds me of this:

For anyone who took notice of our very own "Cinderella Cruiser" princess:
the last morning I was in Shutters picking up our pictures and I was behind her in line - the CM told her that today's total was $400 - any way they were chatting and she told them the reason she was so tired is that they didn't finish packing until 2:30 am and called for the luggage pick up then - she also commented that it took that long to pack 34 pieces of luggage! Just wondering if they had a seperate room as a dressing room!!!!

and she and her DH and DS went on to AKL Concierge....we shared a DCL shuttle...I got off at MCO, where Cash lost his mind and decided to board another bus instead of meeting me at the front of the shuttle I was being unloaded from....he wanted to go back to the port, I guess....

Yup, I knew the dog was a genius!

Sharon, that was lovely, thank you.

So here's a conversation recently held in the kitchen:
Mom: What would you think of Dad & I going on a cruise this Fall, without you?
DD: What? No way!
Mom: But it's during school.
DD: I don't care! I want to go on a cruise!
Mom: But it's all adults, kind of like Palo every night.
DD: (doubtfully) mmmm, well Ok. What grade will I be in?
Mom: It's next Fall, you'll be in 9th.
DD: (starting to panic) But who will drive me to school?
Dad: You can walk to school!
DD: (full on panic) nnnuuuuhhh!

Dads are so helpful. The itinerary is lovely, too, I looked it up. Pencil us in for Nov. '09, OK?

Think about it. We would have so much fun. The conversation in our house went like this:
Parents: Kids, your Dad & I ahre going on a 10 cruise for our 20th Anninersary.
Kids: Can we come?
Parents: No, this is for adults only and besides your are in school. Grandma and Grandpa will stay with you.
Kids: nnnnnuuuuhhhhh!!!

So Alicia didn't respond any differently than our kids did.

Would you mind posting this over on the Double Scoop Group thread and tell Mike that I need to go on this cruise?? ;)

Now that Mike is posting away on the Double Scoop thread, tell him to come over here to see his holiday friends (and "innocently" show him our postings about the November 2005 trip).

Hi Friends:

Ken had a business trip to Sacramento this morning so I thought I'd drop a line and let you know that all is well in Ventura. We've had 2.5 inches of rain in the past four hours and a tornado watch as there were funnel clouds over the Pacific this morning. We have received 17 inches of rain since we returned from the cruise (oh yeah, that would only be two weeks ago right). I thought the song was "it never rained in Southern California". 17 inches is more than we have received in the last three/four years combined. But, all is well - we're high and dry.

Miss you guys.

Hi everybody,

spros you have to remember the next line to that song..."It never rains in Southern California...it pours man it pours".

We had a great time on the trip. Loved meeting everyone and Paul booked the 2006 trip. By that time Kira will be old enough to enjoy the club.

Do hope all is well with everyone. The girls have had colds since our return and the doctor laughed at all the sand in Sierra's ear. We are still trying to get it all out.

Happy New Year all, cheers-D

Shari - nice to hear from you. Just got back from the post office. A CD is coming your way. Thank you so much for sharing your pictures. You guys got some great shots of things that we missed (or just didn't come out right). You also had some amazing towel animals! I think our hostess was fairly new as some days we couldn't figure out what she made. :D

Denise - glad to hear you guys had a good time too. Sorry we didn't cross paths more.

Except Alicia's was a little more fear based. Something about being on her own for almost two weeks and getting herself to and from school. Not to mention dance. No able bodied grandparents here, that's what happens when you wait until you're geriatric to have kids. Not that we aren't tempted to go anyway!

So, you going to make the kids walk to school too??

The kids would not be that lucky. Grandma and grandpa are coming!!

They come to FL for the winter so they will come down early. DS and DD would rather walk to school than to spend 10 days with grandparents. Matt has already offered to do the cooking.

Life can be so tough for them.

This a "keep your spouse on-line Honest moment"

Geriatric?? Geriatric????

LOL Sorry, TMI. I'm sure a couple of the medical professionals here could back me up. This is what it says on your chart if you're pregnant and over 35.

Now back to your regularly scheduled cruise thread...

There's the difference. Matt and Lisa would be just fine on their own. Alicia, not so much.

Yes folks, it is true! Our DD is "needy"

She still needs that front end loader to clean out her bedroom too!!! :cool1:

Hello everyone!!

Joe and I finished the Disney Half Marathon yesterday! Got our Donald Medals! Whoo hooo... not bad for two out of shape, cruise food filled old fogeys! Okay I'm ready to sail again..... :boat: I sure could use that Rainforest Room lounger about now!!

Karen ... I'm ready to go on that World Cruise.... do ya think they have any last minute bargains to fill the ship...LOL :cool1:

Congratulations to both of you, Leslie! That's a real accomplishment! Is that why you did all that dancing on the cruise, trying to stay in shape?

Leslie and Joe, CONGRATS! Super job!

Scubas and Diana/Kevin, I'm laughing so hard at you guys. You both have wonderful kids who are so responsible for their ages. It's just a testimony to great parenting skills. Want to send some my way?

Two phone calls with the school today, one good, one not so good - both about DD. Good news, they're bumping her up in Language Arts because she needs the challenge (ya THINK???). Not so good, her science grade is in the toilet. She'll pass, but not by much. Teacher "I know she has a great mind, and she understands the material, it's just those little things like TURNING IN HER WORK!"

Oh well, it could be worse I know! Heading out to get the little darling(s) now. Have a good one! Lisa
