Where did everybody go? Was it something I said?

Something I have been wondering about, is good ideas/answers for Santa on Christmas Eve? First there is the chimney question, then will DCL have some carrots and cookies we can leave out? A notable lack of large size gifts....though the stockings will likely be full. Any ideas to make it extra special (ok, given the fact it is a cruise that may be redundant for us but think like a 5 year old) from the creative types out there?

Well, maybe the Scuba family should warn the ppl who get in line behind them....so the new family isn't surprised. Something like "oh, just so you aren't surprised, but a few of my family had to use the rest room...they'll be right back." 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.........etc

I LOVE THAT!!

Maybe they'll feel sorry for them as well. I mean, gosh, to pay for THAT family to go on the Magic......

No, because it's very rare I venture away from this thread for any length of time anymore.

I used to read the DVC board...got sick of all the same questions/answers all the time.
I used to read the DCL board...but don't have time anymore.
I used to read the WISH board, but seeing as I've had to buy bigger clothes for this cruise, I'm a bit discouraged and don't go there anymore.

I haven't been going to any of the other boards either. I was hanging out on the DVC board quite a bit to keep track of possible AP discounts, and I gave up. I do like to check the Cruise board once in a while to see if there's anything new on DCL. I get my most of my news here, though. Mary and Mark, our connection to the outside world!

Two weeks to go and I'm kind of in panic mode about packing (or lack there of).

Had a great day today. DSs and I met Cruisin' Goose and her DS for lunch in Ann Arbor. Our own 'mini-meet' After being on the boards so long we had lots to talk about. Her son is a nice young man who seems very excited about a few dives! Thanks for taking the time to stop and meet with Dexter DISers. It made us even more excited to meet the rest of you.

After chatting and dining I'm on a mission for a sturdy over the door hanging thingie.

What type of items do all of you put in the over the door thing??

Gus, you missed some funnies. Stacey and Karen were making us ROFL last night with their comments about a dress I posted a link to. Don't know what page that was on. And you will know a lot more about Jeri if you read back.

I told Alicia about Stacey's comment on that dress, how it would look on Lisa. Alicia laughed, then said "that was mean!" We had to explain that Stacey was talking about herself.

Theresa, just as long as you don't expect the rest of us to be as sweet as Vicki. She's setting the standard there. So she's getting around a bit more?

We put everything in the over the door thingy. Sunscreen, brushes, hair things, makeup, meds, anything that might get lost on top of the desk. It's good to put "grab as you go out the door" stuff in too, like cameras and lanyards and KTTW cards, because you can see them. Guess I should mention that we put it on the cabin side of the bathroom door.

What fun that you guys got to have a mini-meet. I've met Vicki for lunch, but never had the honor of meeting GreGg.

As for the over the door shoe holder - I got ours at Target a couple of years ago. It is clear plastic and no more than $4-5. We put our suntan lotion, combs, sunglasses, all the little things that could clutter the top of a desk area and the kind of things you want to be able to grab quickly. Even though it is just the two of us we think it helps.

We finally booked our excursions. What do you think of them? We have been to some of the islands before but doing different excursions.

Key West: Nothing, hang out and do stuff on own
st Maarten: French Riveria Beach Rendezvous
St Lucia: Cruise to the Pitions
Antigua: Catamaran Sail. Snorkel, and Beach Cruise
St Thomas: Trunk Bay, St John on our own
Castaway Cay: snorkel, beach, maybe banana boat

1000th DIS post.....

Over the past year I cannot believe the friendships I have formed with many I have never met in person. It is really an addiction to have to sign on and see what's going on..... but it's a good thing. I've posted before about us being a community - well I believe that more now than ever. I can just imagine what is was like a hundred or more years ago gathering at friends houses or the local meeting hall catching up on the goings on - well - we do that every night in front of our computers.

While I am quite realistic about life and plans - I know how we can be thrown curveballs when we least expect it - I do think that with the group of friends that are going on this cruise that this will definitely be a very special time.

When I printed out an invitation for DD inviting her on the cruise - I said - "Please join us for the cruise of a lifetime....." I don't think anything has changed - other than it turning out better than I ever expected......

Hi everyone!

Yeah, 2 weeks till we're on the ship!! We had our homeowners association meeting today. Does anyone else have one in their neighborhood? Good news, they dropped our dues by 100.00!! I live in a new developement and the developer set the fees. Now that we took over, we voted to lower them.

My DS got his basketball schedule today--he'll miss 2 games and 3 practices. He said he really doesn't mind. He'd rather be cruising!

Matt--my family (5 of us) is doing the same thing in Antigua at 8:30 I think.

Sorry I don't help much with the increase in posts. I'm kind of quiet and not as funny as you guys. I really do enjoy reading these posts though. Even though I joined late and never met anyone, I hope you don't mind that I refer to you guys as "my friends on the Christmas thread".

Key To The World card. It's your stateroom key, and your charge card on the ship. You also have to have it to get on and off the ship at ports.
You use it on the ship to charge things to your stateroom account. I think Linda was hoping to talk Virgil into paying our room charges!

Stacey....just to confirm something. I forgot who said it.

DW and 2 excited children can checkin with MY passport for me and DOCS WITHOUT ME. ( I just won't get my KTTWC)
When I get back from dropping off the car rental I just Butt in line to get my card?????
