Since it was my idea - I'll work on the photo. I think that 4:15 in the Atrium is a great idea..... we can always move it if there are other things planned there. I'll contact DCL - and arrange to have a photographer there.

Great Virgil - thanks! Hopefully there won't be anything else going on. I've seen some group shots from there and they look great!

Thank you for the summary, I think we are starting to get with the program. The learning curve has been pretty steep since booking on saturday but with all of your help we are feeling better.

Soon maybe we will be in a position to contribute to all of your hard work.

Hi everyone,

Kristen is still not feeling well. She didn't go to school yesterday. She did give her all at vollebyall tryouts on Sunday and ended up making the team! This is a highly competitive volleyball team, there were 50 girls there trying out for about 22 spots. I am really proud of her for toughing out the tryouts, even though she felt really lousy. They begin practice in Dec and the tournaments run Jan- May. With that and Jason's soccer , not sure when will be able to make any trips this spring.

Tina, I'm sorry to hear Kristen is still sick. Thankfully, neither of my kids have caught it. And congrats to her for making the team!!! It's a hassle juggling those schedules but it will be worth it when the scholarship to college comes through :)

Patty, I never noticed your DH's occupation before. My uncle is a brakeman for conrail (was fascinated with trains his whole life). Your DH is the only other person I "know" who works the railroad.

Semi-funny family story. When I was finishing up high school and deciding what to do with my life, at a large family gathering, someone asked me what I was going to do. I said I was going to be an engineer. My smarmy cousin said "you're going to drive trains?" That ticked my mom off to no end. And since my mom NEVER forgets an insult, 5 1/2 years later when I graduated (it was a 5 year school, really!!) she got me an engineers cap and insisted on taking a picture of me in it to send to the family.

Gus

Gus, I'm truly LOL here over that one! I haven't checked my name.

And now I'm talking to myself!

I finally caught up. Not sure what the deal was yesterday. Google and Yahoo kept taking me to some "pick your website name" thing. Really strange!

Doc, so sorry to hear about your day. I know that this strain of upper respiratory thing has been really nasty.

Mary/Mark, I LOVED the bear thing. And Doc, so smart of you to remember. Stacey, once you mentioned how the story went, I kind of remembered it too.

Welcome to the newbies. So glad you're diving right in. We don't bite too badly :)

Our details:

Me, tkd lisa (Lisa, as if you couldn't tell): 40 and a program manager for the U.S. Navy
DH Tim, 47, I think he's officially a program analyst now for the Navy.
DD Kaylie 12. Recently gotten into singing and drama, a cadette in Girl Scouts
DS Casey 11. Tenderfoot boy scout, hasn't yet found his interest, but he likes most boy things that aren't sports related.

This is our 3rd cruise on DCL.

We're staying at the Boardwalk Villas on rented points, flying in the 15th, doing WDW the 16th and 17th, and taking a rental car to the port in the morning.

Virgil, I feel for you and your staff. I can't imagine a worse day than that at work.

DCL may have taken some nice group shots before, but I'll bet our photographer will have never had a group as big as ours! The teens will probably want their own shot, too.

:sunny: Good Morning!!
Been up for a while, paying bills and getting caught up here.

Virgil....I would hate your job. Glad there are people like you who want to do it....same goes for gaRry & his job, too.
And thank you for offering to try to get us a picture set up. It would be great to have a shot of all of us! (put me in the back, please)

Mary...and all the Ladies....nothing set in stone yet for Ladies of the Magic....I think we need to see what's going on each night.
But if we plan on staying out ALL NIGHT, it would be nice to do it on the night before a day at sea!;)

Lisa, pretty cute about the engineer's hat. It reminded me....Jay wears goofy hats to our ball games, and the one hat that he "covets" the most is the engineer's hat on the Disney Railroad. They don't sell them anymore. He's a bit odd, that Jay, his two favorite rides are the Monorail & the Railroad. Must be a sign of aging.
Where else might I find an engineer's cap? The railroad kind.:p

Battery dying in either the smoke detector or the carbon monoxide detector....must go rip it out of the ceiling. Back in a few.

There is one Very Serious Law Firm.
All staff comes to work at 6am and leaves around 11pm. Suddenly, one guy started his day at 9am. All the guys exchanged “looks”. And he left at 6pm. All the guys exchanged “looks”. Next day is the same story.
And the day after is the same story. Finally, they come to this rebel to explain the rules. He listened, kept quiet for a while and said: ”Excuse me guys, I am on vacation…”

Stacey - have you ever booked the "Behind The Steam Trains Tour" for Jay. I think he would love it. You get to go back to the roundhouse and the one at WDW is two levels (lower for trains upper for monorails). You don't get to go up to the monorails, but you do get to go inside the cab of the steam train. It is a really cool tour and I highly recommend it!

Got our flight info.USAIR from Baltimore at noon on the 17th, we have to change planes in Charlotte (darn) and arrive MCO at 3:39. Going home on the 28th we don't leave until 1:30 and get to BWI at 5:15. That is a long day for Jeanne. Maybe we can get an earlier flight when we get to the airport.

Sue,

Is USAIR one of the airlines at the port. After our Feb. '03 cruise we were on a 1:30 AA flight and when we went to the desk at the port they were able to get us on an earlier flight with no problem and no additional cost. Worth asking.

half done. Everyone is linked. Now I must call tomorrow to request the seating arrangements and rotation. I just realized if formal night is Sunday 26, and we get Lumiere's for that night. then we will be in Animators start and finish. l

Mary...I didn't know they had this tour. I will definitely look into it.
We're doing "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" at Disneyland next summer. I'll have to see if they have the train tour!

This is odd...the battery is dying in the smoke detector, I took it down, removed the battery, And of course I don't have another one......but the detector is still beeping. Even w/o the battery. I didn't know they did that?????

Think I'll look at our flight reservations again, to be sure they're unchanged.

Mary - Yes usair is at the port.I didn't know they could change flights at the port. You bet I will ask for an earlier flight right away.

Thanks:hug:

Good grief! I'm using dial-up this morning, and it is sooooo slow.
I could have called America West faster than looking online.
Our flights are unchanged, and totally booked.

Does anyone know if America West has baggage check in at the port?
