Gloomy and rainy here today. Saw 2 car accidents in just 5 miles. ppl just don't slow down for the wet leaves and rain.

Sue, doesn't it just amaze you how people can do that?
Every time it rains here, there are a ton of accidents. It's like all the people who moved here to get away from the rain and snow have forgotten how to drive in it!
But the best time to have an appointment is when it rains, half the people cancel, so you get in and out faster. I guess they are afraid to drive in it!:confused3

We are supposed to have one last hurrah of warm days (80's) and then cool off for good.
We do get snow here once or twice during the winter, we're just high enough in elevation. But it always melts almost as soon as it hits the ground.
And we have to cover my roses and our citrus trees from frost.

Oh! I forgot...I tested my Sealife underwater camera...before it got too cold to get in the pool..... the pictures both underwater and on land were really good. I was especially surprised at how good the land pics were, even with the camera in its case. Now I only have to take the one camera on excursions!! And, if I am worried about the camera leaking before I'ved had a good chance to really get it dry, I know I can take good pics with the case still on! Even the distance shots (of our mountains) were nice and clear! Mark...you will really be happy with your choice!

Stacey.........I'm wondering if they will let you in the water with it while swimming with dolphins?

I certainly hope so.

Getting ready to head out.

I was just thinking.....I'm glad we are going to MVMCP...the thought of being that close, and not going to the MK was killing me.
Our original plan was "cruise only". It's hard for us to be away from work for so long....but at least we get to sneak in a few hours with Mickey!::MickeyMo

Have a really great day!!!!!!

I've heard conflicting reports on that. Some people say that they were allowed to take pictures, and others say they weren't, because Dolphin Fantaseas wants people to buy their pictures.....I'm going to bring it, and try anyway...if I didn't bring it, and it turned out they would allow it, I'd kick myself forever!!!

Even if it isn't allowed....I'm sort of a bad girl...I will probably sneak a few anyway..."Oops! I'm sorry, I guess I didn't hear the part about no pictures"!.....they aren't going to remove the film from my camera.
Nobody heard (saw) me say that, though!!

Can you double check on our order too --- don't want to miss out!

I'm so happy so many are getting to spend additional time before and after the cruise at DW --- wish I could be with you. We will be at AKL the 17th but not doing any parks, that will have to wait until June.

One question, do you think if we hung around on the beach at the Poly around 9:00 we'd see the Wishes fireworks and does anyone know if they pipe the music in.

Hope everyone has a great day -- finally sunny here, got the effect of the time change for the first time this week on my drive to work, it was actually light, been rainy all week.

re the u-haul have you checked to see if there is a dealer in the area - drop off family and return it and have one reserved for the trip home?
We also have checked into the cartop carriers. Sears has one that is larger than the 12.5 cu ft. There also is a samsanite soft carrier that was 15+ (can't remember the exact cu ft) that was good for even cars without roof rack. hope the info helps

Oh, I meant to reply to this earlier. We have a Thule hardshell carrier that we got when we had a Subaru Forrestor. It works really well. I was able to fit quite a bit of stuff in it, it stayed dry through a pretty good downpour, and it didn't affect our gas mileage. They're a little pricey, but they've got a good reputation.

I also would try what Vicki suggested, and drop off the uhaul in Cocoa Beach, and pick up a new one for the trip home.

Hope it works out!

Are you dining at the Liberty Tree?

Gus

We have not made any plans yet. We are pretty flexible. I will pm you.

Patty....yes, you can see the fireworks from there, and you can hear the music. I don't know for sure if they have it piped in, they do in Poly's concierge lounge....but I could hear the music from there whenever I was outside. You can also do this from the Grand Floridian.....
OR.....take the monorail over to the MK, and stand just outside the entrance.

Perhaps you could argue the fact you want underwater pictures.
They probably don't offer those.

I'm a little bad as well.

We could be a team, I'll be on your side.

My DW calls me a "polite a**hole" all the time.

Patty, I asked this exact question on the theme park board a month or so ago. There are apparently two "favored" Wishes viewing sites outside the parks. The Poly Beach and the observation deck at the Contemporary. We are getting in on the 15th, but aren't going to be in MK for any of the Wishes shows since we aren't buying MVMCP tickets. So, plan a is to go to the Poly beach on the 15th. Plan B (if it's cold or rainy) is the contemporary observation deck.

Oooh, TOP!

As I said above, we're getting there mid day the 15th, and staying on rented points for 3 nights at Boardwalk Villas. We're going to do the parks the 16th and 17th, but no hard ticket events. I haven't even made any PS's, because I think we're going to mostly do counter service. I figure we'll get lots of good food and characters for "free" on the cruise, so I'm going to maximize the park time and enjoy the rides.

For the return, we have a flight out of Tampa on the 29th. So when we get off the ship, we're going to take a rental car, and probably visit my mom in SW Florida for a few hours, then drive up to Tampa and stay near the airport. We'll probably be driving an extra 4 hours, but I couldn't be that close and not visit my mom. Since the in-laws aren't coming now, she's not going to join us in WDW before the cruise. We were going to just have her stay in the 2nd room, but now we've cancelled that one, so I told her if she came, she'd have to find lodging. She decided not to do it. We did just have a LONG visit in July, so it's not like we haven't seen her lately.

Sue, I sent you a pm.

Well, that's about it for here today. Keep up the post count! 15,000 or bust!

Thanks Stacey --- hopefully we can make it to one of the spots --- don't know if I can get that close to MK and not go in!!! You know I'm the crazy one that cried the first time I saw Mickey Mouse and I always cry when we leave to go home! Good thing my family cooperates and keeps letting me go back to my happy place.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Thanks also Lisa --- do you know for sure if you can still go out on the observation deck at the Contemporary? I thought I read somewhere that they wouldn't let you out there anymore --- had to be eating there. DH wants to eat at the Wilderness Lodge either before or after the cruise --- so maybe I could do a PS there and time it so we could go over after dinner.

GarRy:

I pm'd you about the shirts. Do you have our order?

Thanks

Linda

We are flying in late on the 17th (land at 10PM). Got a decent price on a room at the MCO Marriott from Hotwire. We are renting a car to drive to the port early in the morning and want to stop at ABC Liquors and Walmart on the way down for drinks.

I am a little perturbed with DH cause when I booked airfare (non-refundable) I wanted to extend the vaca a few days after the cruise since DD was off from school for the remainder of the week. I didn't even want to do the parks since I knew they would be unbelievable crowded (I'm an off-season gal) but to just hang around for a few more days. No, he says. I have to go back to work. I can't take all that time off, blah, blah , blah.

Well, he tells me last week he plans on taking the rest of the week off when we get back. So now not only do I not get to hang aroung sunny Florida, when we get back he's gonna be home and up my butt for the rest of the week:sad2:

As it is now we are going to fly out of MCO at 3:15pm so we rented a car from the port and are going to DD and an early lunch at our favorite restaurant, Fulton's Crab House. Anybody interested in joining us???

Mary, Great newletter. You are so generous to put all that work into making this trip even more special with new friends. It is very much appreciated.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

So, I found these on sale on Ebay last night. Does anyone know if they give them to all of us on the ship or do they sell them?

piratesofthecaribbean.bmp

Hard to read but it says Pirates IN the Carribean Party, it is item #2281582659 on the site if you want to check it out.

We have owned at OKW since 1994 and we love it! The best thing.........late at night, when you get back from the parks, kids are asleep..............pull into parking right in front of your own condo and take a 10 second walk to your "own home".

Then DH and I sit out on our private verandah and watch the fireworks from Pleasure Island!

Linda

OKW sounds great Linda --- I'm really excited, especially since they're redoing the pool. The pics on the web look great --- the only one I'm having trouble selling it to is DH --- he's a golfer so he should love it!!

Also, realtorlady, thanks for the excercises -- I need them, especially after yesterday. I was being a good girl yesterday and reading this thread while eating lunch --- I really didn't mean to eat the whole bag of chips, but it went like this scroll, scroll, munch, munch, scroll, scroll, munch, munch..... then they were gone!!!!!
