My MIL, who was supposed to come to our house during this trip to watch our dog and two cats backed out yesterday. We now have to scramble with only 40 days before we leave to find alternative pet care over the Christmas holiday, when most pet sitters are most busy and usually booked months in advance.

Worst of all, my DH is devistated that his mother could do this to us. I feel so bad for him. We asked her months ago, and she was happy to do it for us. We bought her a plane ticket and everything. Now we are out the money for the ticket and we have to find someone to pay to watch our "kids" on top of it all...I'm very stressed right now. We aren't even totally sure of why she changed her mind.

The only thing keeping me going is knowing that I need this vacation even more now!

Thanks for letting me vent.

AGRH!! Well, MIL changed her mind again. She says she's coming now, but I'm affraid to believe her. I asked DH if he was absolutely, positively, totally sure that she wasn't going to change her mind AGAIN He says he is sure....so the search for a pet sitter seems to be off. I told him is she flakes now, she pays for our entire trip! False alarm for three days, but it caused enough stress on top of work stress that I have now caught a cold.

Anyway, thank you again to everyone for your ideas and suggestions. And thanks for listening...it really helped to have you all here "with" me!

ARE YOU CRAZY? I'm not going to stand in line for 2-3 hours with everyone else. We can share family time together somewhere else.

So, I went and voted first thing this morning and was in and out in less than 15 minutes!!!

Hi all! I checked our flights the other day and noticed the prices went down. So I went to JetBlue's website and changed the flights online. We changed our flights so we're leaving at the same time, but getting to Orlando an hour earlier. It cost us $40 total ($20 each) and now we have a credit of $148 with JetBlue to use in the next year (which is ok because we can use them for our Repo cruise or another Disney trip). I love saving money.

my dad had to check on ours the other day because the airline called saying our tickets had changed. it took them a while to figure out which ones changed because on tuesday my parents are flying into orlando, on friday one of my sisters and i are flying into orlando, and then in december we're flying into orlando. lots of flights from dulles to orlando. they finally figured out that the times of our flights changed. leaving about 5 min earlier for fl and leaving fl about 10 min later. something weird like that. he tried to tell me our flights had been cancelled!!! he was just kidding though! phew!

I am off to check JetBlue too! I got a good deal but if I can save more Hey, I'm game!

Just in from voting - 1hour and 45 minutes! this is a first - and I laughed at my sister who has a toddler and said, I'm not waiting in line this year...................I am going to use an absentte ballot! she was the smart one!

I went to the poles this morning at 6:45am my husband and I figured we'd beat the rush................sure the line was already 150 people long!!!!! and the poles don't open till 7am!~

just got through checking - our flight was $301 total for 2 from Boston to Orlando and now it is $470 (same flights) so I guess I did ok................

We're flying out of Burlington, leaving at 6:10 am and less than half the seats had been selected, so maybe that's why ours went down. Sorry yours didn't. I was hoping I could help someone save some money.

Two Excedrin and half a pain pill later, and I may just live......

Jay is still standing in line outside Town Hall, as is Megan. The line just now when Jared and I drove by was TWICE as long as when I was there!! If I waited 3 1/2 hours, does that mean they will wait 7 hours??? And it's cold out there. Hope the restaurant delivers hot chocolate.
If I were a GOOD wife and Mommy, I'd take it myself!

HEY! What an outstanding idea! The kids and I could make a huge jug, take styrofoam cups, and SELL it!! Cruise $$$.....

Too bad my entire body aches from standing out there all day.

Guess I'll go try on my "wench" costume and see if it fits!

After 20+ years in the same small town, I know all the workers, and they know me....so they're used to my antics.

Back home, we used to joke about having a revolving charge account at the ER we went to. The doctor (get this...his name was Dr. GRAVES!) used to love to see me come in, he couldn't wait to here the story of how I got my latest injury! There was always some stupid funny story....... from me...go figure!!

But actually, after waiting in line to vote for 3 1/2 hours, I walked into the polling place and told THEM that I was there for my flu shot!! (stop skimming, and read! )

I knew that it was the poll workers you were talking about - thus my comment - that I thought only the ER staff knew you that well......

I need to refresh before I post. I responded to Linda's post, and it was on the next page!

Went to vote at 11 am, walked right into the booth. It's always that way in our district, not sure why. DD went into the booth with me and punched the buttons, just like old times!

Well, I opened THREE bottles of wine tonight, and didn't drink a single glass. All three were completely undrinkable, think the wine store will take them back after I dumped two of them? DH says that's what I get for buying organic wine. But they had CORKS!
