Hey - Haven't been able to do much on the boards these last couple of days. Last night was OB physician meeting and tonight was parent conferences at school. I had to ask a couple of times - are you sure that is my kid? Vanessa quiet- not the way I would describe her. (chatty comes to mind)

Well I have to catch up on the last 15 or so pages I know tomorrow I will have another 20 (which means we could reach 15000 tomorrow)
WOW a 1000 posts a week. I think we may actually reach the 20000 mark.

That happens to me alot, too. They'll say "You have the nicest kids" and I sit there for a second, and then say "I'm Mrs. Stenson....that's S T E N ..... "

PT conferences ceased here in 5th grade. We get support meetings sometimes, but not much feedback at those. Probably just as well. We have the kind of kid that teachers either LOVE or she drives them up the wall. The gifted Science teacher, for instance. You would think she would be able to tolerate high energy kids with a slightly smart mouth (gifted, hello?), but noooo.

Hmmm. She drives us up a wall sometimes too. I should talk.

Stacey, can't wait to hear the story of how you bent DCL to your will. First or second sea day, doesn't matter to us. As long as we can keep the party going until dinner time!

It wasn't always teacher conferences....way back when the kids were really little, we only had one grocery store.
One day, I was in there with the kids and an older gentleman was bagging groceries. I got up there to pay, and the fellow starts yelling....really yelling.... "This is HER! This is the lady I was telling you about! She's the one with the REALLY GOOD KIDS!"
I thought I was going to die.
And I never took the kids back into that store with me again. No sense ruining a good thing!!

Yeah, one of the downfalls of homeschooling.....they always are better behaved for someone OTHER than their parents! I'll bet a "real" teacher could get KT to do math without her writhing on the floor acting like she was in the final stages of acute appendicitis! (speaking of, I need to have Mike pack a home surgical kit in case that comes up......)

I have those daily. I think Maggie is going to school too b/c lately the teacher has been talking a lot about the dog.
