Good luck!! I STILL haven't caught up on the reading from when I was gone at WDW.

I have trouble keeping up with this sometimes in a single day!

Now as far as Key West, we'll be happy to be tour guides! (I know, this is mostly in the newsletter, who do you think did the geek side of the setup the website? Mary's the creative one, I know the nuts and bolts. )

I'd recommend first:

-The Key West Trolley Tour - http://www.historictours.com/keywest/ I recommend going to the website and getting tickets yourself- if you do this thru DCL it is strictly a tour. If you do it yourself, it's more of a tour shuttle bus, there are stops all around the island and you can get on/off as much as you want.

Then, The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservancy (same link as above) This is a fun way to pass an hour. Lots and lots of butterflies.

While you're down there, get a pic at the southernmost point, it's right around the corner.

Now you can take a leisurely walk back up Duvall towards the port and spend a little time at the Key West Aquarium. (again, same link as above) It's right next to the port, and they do live feedings of the sharks and stingrays. lots of fun.

There you go, instant tour. :teeth:

Wow, THANKS! Sending the link to my parents to see if they'd be interested. My dad has bum knees and my mom is sort of slow now-a-days b/c of some stenosis in her spine, so the trolly sounds like the way to go!! It will give us more flexibility depending on how they feel. :)

Hey everybody!

Had a fun Halloween, DD5 was a fairy and DD2 was a pirate. She even kept her head piece on. Not many T or T'ers, kindof sad about that. Paul took the girls out for some candy and I stayed behind to answer the door. The girls really enjoyed handing out the candy more than anything. Paul and I both miss the old neighborhood where we had a virtually andless line of kids. Used to go through 30lbs. of the treats. It is easier on the pocketbook this way. Oh well I had fun decorating and watching my little ones go out. DD2 thought that when someone opened the door it was welcome for her to walk on in. Daddy did alot of retreiving last night.
Started my Christmas cards and have almost all of the presents that have to be mailed to Alaska bought. Thanksgiving to think about now...just the family and my parents, not too bad.
Gotta go watch MNF.
cheers-D

:Pinkbounc Way to go Denise! You're coming along well with all of your preparations, too!!

Stopping by to say good night....have a few things to do, so I'm dragging myself away....

TERRIFIC TUESDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS!!

Good night!

Stacey

OK - here's a question for you....

What is one theory about where the term "POSH" (as in luxurious) originated?

Obviously - must have something to do with cruising.....

Can the tickets for the trolley be purchased when we are there, or do you have to order them ahead of time?

DING DING.... A winner!!!! <-------The Ding Ding is your prize.......

Interestingly - The Oxford dictionary disagrees... but they can't come up with a reason for the term....

See what happens when I'm left alone after helping DD with a project? I surf to all of these different sites....

You can buy them there but they are a dollar or two cheaper if you buy them ahead of time.

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Election Day! Don't forget to vote!

Quiet night on the thread. I was the last post at only 10:30 and the first post this morning!

Well off to read the boards, then to vote, then to work.

Have a great day everyone!

So most of us have cruised DCL before, but there is always something new to learn. In surfing around this morning I found one of my favorite DCL items. The Magical Disney Cruise Guide. I found this online when we were planning our first 7 day cruise and it was a lifesaver. It has since moved over to Deb Wills site and continues to be updated. The latest update was September of this year. It is 85 pages of great information.

To get to the pdf click here

Enjoy!

Karen- if you follow the same link you can read about the Bone Island Shuttle. I have heard good things about this too. Since it is a mini bus the seats are more comfortable and it is air conditioned. Might be even better for your parents. I think it still offers a lot of stops.

We loved the trolley, but the seats were wood slats and there is no air conditioning.

good mornin cruisers

well, off for a busy day. first to vote. have heard on the radio that lines are long. then we have to TRY to get downtown to see a play. it's actually the play that kt auditioned for and DIDN'T get the part--it's our homeschool groups day to see it. unfortunately, president bush is going to be in town from 11-2 and there are going to be street closings downtown!!!

after that (or instead of that if i can't get there) we are going to see the wafflemobile that glenn beck has been talking about. www.glennbeck.com go to "page 2."

then to the library to drop off/pick up books.

and, if we couldn't get to vote earlier, then a second attempt to vote.

then home and i hope the dog can last that long!!

will check in later....

Mark and Mary, thanks so much for the Key West info!
