I'm still up, and so far, that's a much better story than mine!

Hey....how do ya like them apples? Another T.O.P.

Thanks again, Lynda!

Aaaawwwww.......
So, did you train him? I had to train MY beloved!!

Okay, I guess since I'm still up, I'll tell my story.

Megan's dad and I had been split up for about 3 months or so. I had taken a job in the Carefree, AZ branch of the bank that I had worked for before Megan was born.
The other gals in the bank played softball on Friday nights, and they kept trying to talk me into coming to the games. The games were played in the center of Cave Creek, at the old elementary school. On School House Road....started out as a one room school (I have a friend who went there way back then).
Anyway...they kept telling me about this guy they wanted me to meet. I wasn't sure I wanted to meet anyone...

Finally, I decided to go down there one night. Seems like the whole town used to show up to watch the games back then.
I walked up and took a spot at the fence to watch the game in progress. Standing next to me was a tall, very handsome, charming guy. We chatted away as the games went on.

As they finished up playing, one of the gals from the bank came up and told me that everyone was going to "Harold's"....a local bar/restaurant. She asked if I had seen or met Jay yet. Well, I thought this was kind of a stupid question, since he was standing right there.....

I trained him but that's another story. We first had to decide who was going to be boss because when I went to pick him up he was fully conscious and really wild.

Then she pointed toward a guy who was standing next to a 1959 Chevy pickup....not a very tall guy, beard, mustache, thick glasses...
I was soooo confused.
Then my friend says to the tall, handsome guy "Mike, are you going up to Harold's?"
Damn.....this guy's name is Mike....I'm supposed to meet someone named Jay.
My friend took me over to the funny looking guy with the '59 pickup...."Stacey, this is Jay.....Jay, this is Stacey...."
Ummmm........okay .....but what about the handsome guy back there??? (Turns out "Mike" had a girlfriend...and was also a cad)
Jay asked if I was going to Harold's....and I was about to make an excuse.....have to wash my hair....whatever....

When I look in the bed of his pickup, and a pair of gorgeous blue eyes are staring at me.
And a tail starts to wag......he has the most beautiful Australian Sheperd that I had ever laid eyes on.....and she was smiling at me....really, she really did smile.
Just as I reached to pet the dog, about ten people, including this "Jay" guy, yell "Don't touch the dog!".
Apparently, it is the dog's job to guard the truck, and the owner, and she is known to be very good at her job.
Too late.....my hand was already there......
The dog actually rolled over, and let me rub her belly.
Jay tells me that this was the moment that he fell in love with me.
No one else had ever been able to touch that dog, without getting their hand bitten.
This was the moment that I fell in love with Rag.....the dog.

Just any 'ol time....

So I went up to Harold's......we danced a little bit....went to a table with some of Jay's friends....the table was one chair short....so Jay let me sit on his lap. (27 years old and 118 pounds...I couldn't get away with sitting on his lap anymore)

Around midnight, I knew I should get going. I knew my Mom, who was babysitting Megan, would be waiting up for me...but I wanted a minute or two alone with "Jay"....
So I told him that I had promised my Mom I wouldn't go out to the car alone, and would he be so kind as to walk me to my car? (Good line, huh?)
Gentleman that he is, he did......and the rest is history.

You'd be a little wild too, if they did to you what they had just done to him!:earseek: ::yes::

Officially going to bed now....

Good night, Lynda!

Good night John-boy, good night Mary Ellen, good night Jim-Bob......

Aussies are great dogs My brother has had several...only three really fantastic ones but only one real dud. The one he has now is a rescue...a naturally blind cross... The cats have figured out that he can't see them and they like to tease him...

more later...bedtime for me....

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Tuesday!

Okay - how did I meet Mark - a rather twisted story. :D

Way back when in 1988 there was a show on our local PBS station called "Blake's 7". It was a British import best described as "The Dirty Dozen In Space" or "Star Trek Gone Wrong". Anyway I was a fan and also being a Star Trek fan I had gone to a number of Star Trek conventions. Found a group in the Chicago area that were into Blake's 7 and had formed a club. More a social gathering meet once a month and watch the show together type thing. A lot of us became friends and started doing other things together. There was a local Sci-Fi convention in town one weekend -most of my friends were going, but I wasn't. I did have a friend who called and invited me to a room party that night. Since I was the membership secretary of the club I thought I should at least go.

I met a lot of people that night including one creepy guy and Mark.

Ok so Mark and the creepy guy were two separate people but I didn't find that out for a few months :D A group of us used a local BBS to chat on. Mark signed on and started chatting with us, but I kept picturing the creepy guy in my mind. Still I liked a lot of what he had to say.

A few months later we have a weekend party at a friends house and who shows up by Mark - he wasn't the creepy guy at all -in fact he was kind of cute. Cute but young - something that didn't come across in his thoughts and writings on the computer.

He started hanging out with our group and we would do a lot of group things together like picnics etc. At this point I had two very close friends in the club. One married who was trying to matchmake me and Mark and one who had her eyes on Mark.

A few months later Mark asked me out on an individual date and 6 months later we were engaged.

My two friends? Well they were in the wedding but I haven't seen them in years.

Seems the married one who was my Matron of Honor was having problems in her marriage she didn't want to talk about. They broke up 2 months after we got married and after that she didn't want to be around a happily married couple.

The one who had her eyes on Mark? We found out she had been telling her parents that she and Mark were dating  too bad Mark didn't know that. Needless to say she didn't want to stay friends once he was taken.

Mark and I still like Sci-Fi (much more him than me - he's always been into all forms of Sci-Fi - I go much more for popular media). Then, of course, there is our love of Disney. We spend much more time at Disney now than we do at Sci-Fi conventions.

We celebrate 14 years of marriage tomorrow!

Well look at that - chatty and a top! gaRry will be so proud!

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone!

David - congrats on the Cat 3. I didn't think there would be any cancellations at this late date, so that's great that you got one.

Virgil - congrats on your Cat 3 also. It seems like there will be several of us on deck 8.

Jenny - still no news on the themes nights yet. I am trying to talk to Debbie about something else so I will ask her about the theme nights again. She's probably getting tired of me by now, but oh well.

I have to get the kids off to school so I will share my story(how we met) later.

Have a great day!

Where is everyone this morning? I have been off the boards for 1 1/2 hours and no new threads.

Here's our story:

Rich and I were kiddies when we met(well not that young) We were both attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas(UNLV) when we started dating. Rich played on the baseball team and I was on the swimming & diving team. I was having trouble with my shoulder so I was in the training room putting ice on my shoulder and lo and behold there was this cute guy sitting on the table next to me putting ice on his finger which he had just gotten out of a cast. We sat there making fun of the cheerleaders who had come in for weigh in. We had our first date soon after that and the saga began...
