We have those "blank" pages in our contracts, and our Trust book.....never have figured out the point to that!

Linda....I'm not bringing any gifts on the cruise...the cruise IS our gift. These are for my poor sad family members who don't get to go!

David...CONGRATS!!! I would have never thought that there would be a cancellation this close....you are very lucky!! Got any idea what this weeks' lottery numbers might be??

Mary, I love that snowman! Then again, I love all snowmen. Just looking at this pile of stuff I have to bring makes me shudder, though....should I go "rescue" one of them from WalMart, or not??? I guess he won't take up much space.

Tina....my only motivation is self-preservation. If I don't do it now, I will be totally insane, and exhausted for the trip. I refuse to wait until the last minute, rush around like a chicken with my head cut off, and then be too tired to have fun onboard!
I'm actually a very lazy human being!

I am not looking forward to tomorrow......I am letting my cleaning lady go. The job is just not getting done, and I pay her way too much to not have it be done right. I may hire a crew like "Merry Maids". Did I tell you that she cleaned Jared's room, which is totally "off-limits" to her (if he won't clean it, why should she?)......yet my kitchen was still dirty....and, she was cleaning light fixtures and one fell out of the ceiling. Not that it was her fault, but she didn't even leave me a note warning me.
Anyway...I hate doing this. I can fire guys at work with no problem, but this is hard. She's a bit older, it's harder for her to find new jobs.....that's why I want to hire a professional "company" to do it. Then it will be more like a business transaction. Wish me luck...I just hate hurting her feelings....

Oh well...off to bed. I am really tired and have a major headache. I felt pretty "bah-humbug" by the time I finished the wrapping. What's great though, is that when Christmas does come, i won't be tired of it...I'll be ready!

TERIFFIC TUESDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE EAST COAST, EARLY RISING CRUISERS!!!

Good night!

Exciting times this morning.( 12AM) ..I hopped on my nearly new electric scooter and tried to head out to round up the cat...Turned the key on and the thing went crazy and smashed into the wall going full speed..... The accelerator bar has mysteriously broken. Turn the key on and ZOOM.

I think I'll call the shop tomorrow to come and pick it up ....Luckily I have a spare scooter, although it took a sideways hit from the crazy one on its way to the wall....Good thing I wasn't facing the car... Ho hum....I'm jinxed...

Better stay in bed....oops, water bed...prolly drown...

Stacey...HELLPPPP!!!

And I can't spell anymore, either.....

That's two R's.....and one F......

Lynda...I think we should get you a Donkey!!! Slower, yes...but much more reliable!

The rate for that cruise is amazing!! Darn tempting. But I'm not a Mac-whatever, nor do I have a dog...at least, not one that's trained.

We don't critique spelling or grammar, remember?

It's unlucky.....:earseek:

:sunny: One last thing before I head for bed....

Something for everyone to post about tomorrow.....

Tell us about how/when/where you met your beloved....
Lynda...you can tell us about the first time you met Cash...I'd rather talk about the dog than my first husband.....

I'll tell how I met Jay tomorrow......

Stop rolling your eyes at me! This could be fun.......

Cash was a true computer "date".

Cash #1 (6 months old) had just died and I knew that Carrie wasn't going to cut it as a Service Dog so I started combing the animal shelter websites looking at adoptees...just looking. I interviewed a cute doggie I think he was a Staffordshire Terrier mix....sweet dog but they can be aggressive and a Service Dog needs to have more courage than aggression so I passed on him. I then temporarily adopted a mutt that looked like my dearly departed Yankee Clipper, a boxer/yellow lab mix that tangled with a deer, lost an eye and a few months later lost the other one to cancer...Great dog. The imposter was a total jerk....rejected. Then I saw this snooty-looking black lab in a set of found but not yet claimed dogs. He looked very noble and wise so I called animal shelter about him.

They said he had been there about two months, was a real nice dog that actually should have been reclassified and, if not adopted, put to sleep earlier but nobody had had the heart to do it so they kept re-classifying him as found. I told them I'd be down the next morning to see him.

and the next morning I drove 40 miles into Austin. He wasn't there. Rather, he wasn't accepting visitors, I was told.....he had just been "clipped" and was still in the recovery room.

No, you cannot see him.

Grrr.

and on and on. I am NOT going to wait around until 5PM to see him and then have to drive ALL the way back to Leander (read boonies) in the rush hour traffic just because you guys made a scheduling mistake.

I want to see him. I promise not to touch him. I won't tell anyone you let a street person into your operating area. I made a pest of myself.

To get rid of me the adoption assistant made a call.

The director came out and escorted me back to the recovery room.

And,

there he was.

All folded up in a teeny little stainless steel cage. All 70 pounds of him. Dead to the world except

except

for his tail, which, sticking out from between the bars, started wagging slowly the minute I spoke to him. (I DID touch him.)

I paid for his release immediately, later wondering at the wisdom of plunking down $80.00 for an unconscious 70-pound 18-month-old big-footed pile of fur.

Still unwilling to hang about until rush hour to take him home less unconscious, I agreed to pick him up the next morning. His name was Wyoming.
