Man, you're gonna think I'm picking on you....and after all that help you gave me....

Princess Bride is a cult favorite here. I'll bet we watch it (or at least the adults listen to it) at least once a month.
Wesley and Princess Buttercup fight the Rouses. Rodents of Unusual Size. :)

But I don't think they exist...... :earseek:

YOU'RE probably right, it's been awhile since I watched the movie. That image just came to mind when I was reading that acronym....

maybe it's just me....

LOL, wasn't that the "Vulcan Mind Meld" or something like that?

Another thought: The Romantic Escape at Sea, abbreviated to REAS reminded me of the move Princess Bride when the hero and heroine were fighting the "Rodents of Extreme Size" or RES's. I did a double take on "that" one.

:hyper:

I hope not! Unfortunately they don't have geysers onboard and they don't allow swords. :p

But you can be sure I'll be checking all the CMs out to see if they have six fingers on their right hand! ;)

hee, hee, hee...

Ooooh....ya got me on that! I hate "its." Gets me a lot. :) You'll notice that here in the board my grammar isn't as good and my sentence structure is more informal. My point with "your" vs. "you're" is that if we're sticking it all over ppl's doors, a lot of ppl are going to see it, so we should strive for grammatical accuracy. :) Typically, I have not gone around correcting grammar :)

Hi everyone!

I'm being a worry wort this a.m. :worried: :( DH took both DS's on a weekend camping trip with our church (their first camping adventure together). Left last night and except for one phone call on the way down, I haven't heard from them. You know what goes through your mind......did they make it, did they have a car accident, should I start driving there to see if they're o.k., etc. It's in a State park a few hours from here (Lisa - ever hear of Point Lookout State Park?), so I'm hoping he just doesn't have cell service. But, it's hard not to jump in the car. We will be having a discussion on this when they get home.

Charlotte, All together now "It's a small world after all, it's a small world after all". They boys drove RIGHT past our house to get there. And to defend him, I can vouch that there is NO cell coverage once you get past St. Mary's City (and it can be spotty there!). We're actually going on a ghost walk there in a couple of weeks. Point Lookout was a Union prisoner of war camp during the Civil War (remember MD stayed Union while the rest of the area was confederate). I hope they enjoyed their trip. It was an iffy morning Saturday, but turned very nice for the rest of the weekend. Other little known trivia. Southern Maryland is where John Wilkes Boothe went after he shot Abraham Lincoln. He went to the Surrat house (first woman ever executed in the US. She claimed she didn't know what her husband and Boothe were planning) just south of DC. They then detoured to Dr. Mudd's house (origin of the saying "your name is mud", Mudd was sent to a prison camp where he made heroic efforts to treat Yellow Fever victims. His family petitions the courts to clear his name every so often) to get Boothe's leg set. He broke it jumping down from the balcony. They then hid out along present day Route 301, then hired someone to row them across the Potomac. They were apprehended in King George's County VA, very near the present day Fort AP Hill (home of the Boy Scout Jamboree). Lots of cool history down here!

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread!

I'm back! I tried really hard with our computer this weekend, and no joy. It's in the back of the van to be dropped off at the computer store. Our upstairs computer's modem decided not to work, so I couldn't use it as a backup. Can you say WITHDRAWAL? No chat, no disboard????? And all day Sat we spent figuring out where we're going to live. Final decision, we're going to rent while we spend more time figuring it out!

Lots of great conversation this week. Count us in for TAG. It does sound fun!

We hit the big JC Penney's sale this weekend to get a couple more skirts for DD. It's hard finding ones that I'm willing to let my DD wear! The fact that she has long legs in comparison to her waist size doesn't help! But I think we're now set for cruise clothes. I'll probably pack up the suitcases as we're packing for the move. I'm going to have to catalog everything so that I can find what we need!

BTW Dee, your goal sounds reasonable to me. 2 months between belts is very do-able as long as you work at it.

Off to read the rest of the boards. Have a great Monday everyone! Lisa

Good Morning All!

Hello, Goofydadeo!........we were trying to figure out how to have Lo-Jack installed in the teens...but I guess that's not an option.
We have one of our Moms putting together a list of the teens, with pictures and room numbers, parent's names...(no kidding)...for the other DIS cruisers to have. Sort of our own "Neighborhood Watch" system. Just the idea of the kids notknowing for sure who's watching should help keep them in line.
As for just plain old keeping track....I asked mine to check in with me on our prior cruises, and they did. And I also did a lot of sneaky checking on my own. Other wise, there's not much else we can do.

May I propose a moratorium on grammar and typo corrections? People might stop posting.

Goofydadeo, how old are your kids? It's a little bit easier if they're 12 and under, you don't have to give them sign out privileges at the Lab, but for teens it's a hope and a prayer. I have heard of the post-it note system. Keep a pad and pen in the cabin (or on the cabin door) and tell your teens to leave a note when they change locations. It could work. Also, give them a curfew. If you're really serious about knowing where they are, you could try the walkie-talkie route. Problem is, that tends to annoy other people.

I've told mine that if she breaks any rules this time, we will seriously consider not cruising anymore. It's a lot of freedom for a teen, much more than they get at home, and they may not be able to handle it.

Good Grief! Once again, you all chatted away and I can't catch up!
I couldn't get on here last night to say my good nights and mornings!!

In a rush this a.m., so I'll have to come back later, after the lovely dentist and a tad bit of work.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Thank you, Mary!!!!:flower3:

Well, I know several people that I'd let tag MY it anytime.....I just don't think they're on the cruise.....and I don't think I'd like to advertise it on my stateroom door, anyway....

Sometimes I think I'm SO funny......

Lynda, I think you missed an earlier question of mine. Will any of the other cruise lines accomodate a service dog?

Dancind - my DS will almost be 11 by cruise time. My DD will almost be 7 - so no priv options for her of course. My concerns are probably trival to those of you with teenagers, but I appreciate your input and ideas. BTW I love the lo-jack idea!

Thanks!

Goofydadeo

On Magic in '03 our tablemates were travelling with their DS15. We had the best time at dinner reporting DS sightings. During the cruise he actually tried to be seen to see if we 'reported' the sighting!

Happy Monday everyone. Now that I've caught up on all the posts! What a weekend, I hope my parents never ever move again. My mother needs to throw things away. She is a pack rat. I would have been much happier if she was a pack rat with Disney stuff, but no, it is worthless junk she keeps!

Okay, work to do. I am getting so excited for this cruise. Can't wait for December!

Holland America is VERY accommodating...They have boxes set up in out-of-the-way public deck areas so I don't have to fight the hoards for a verandah....with DCL, no verandah, no cruise...for us, anyway.....Long story.

Norwegian absolutely REFUSES to have dogs on board (and because, I think, they don't port within the jurisdiction of the 11th Circuit Court they don't have to). As for others, I suppose I'll find out eventually. The whole thing is very political...There's going to be a review of the Circuit court decision that compels cruise lines that port within the 11th Circuit court jurisdiction to comply with the ADA and if SCOTUS decides to overturn it you can bet that people with disabilities of any kind can kiss their legal cruising protections goodbye. Thank you Mr. Bush..... The father sets it up and the son tears it down....
This is an unpaid political revelation that I freely post in place of posting a Kerry sign in my sig.....:teeth:

Well, I hope knot! The ONLY reason I brought it up was that it was going to bee on a magnet put on stateroom doors. Thought it should bee spelled correctly. Most grammar mistakes in posts I shrug off and could care less about. I just thought since this won we'll represent the ppl on the DIS, we should make it write.

Beyond that, I won't bee picky. :)

I truly hope that I did knot offend anywon hear on the bored! ;)

Thanks, Lynda. Since my Dad and his girlfriend are just the right age for Holland America, that's good news. I could just see my Dad on DCL (not!).
