Gail, I have to ask because you said you're flying to JFK. Are you flying on JetBlue?

No, We are flying on Delta's Fly Song. We did fly on Jet Blue last year and loved it. Delta was much cheaper-$167.00pp r/t. I grabbed those tickets real fast!

I just got home from our first Brownie/Girl Scout Leader meeting.
Be back later-Gail

I have always used the DCL buses to and from the port when flying. After reading all your posts it sounds like I should consider a car service. Flying into MCO on Friday, 12/17 and staying at the airport Hyatt. Since we are coming in early I still have to deal with the luggage to the hotel. Jeanne, DM ( Mom?) uses a wheel chair and DCL has always been very helpful. Opinions, suggestions, advice........

If you are staying at the airport Hyatt I think the DCL busses make the most sense. They'll take your bags on the morning of the 18th and take you right to the ship.

We're doing a car on the 17th because we are spending the night down at Vero Beach. We're doing a limo to get to WDW and then a town car to get to the airport. If we were flying out on the 28th we'd be using the busses like we had in the past.

But WHICH ship???? Kids keep grilling me...."is it the Dauntless?" me: "I don't know." Them: "is it the Interceptor?" me: "I don't know." Them: "is it the BLACK PEARL?????" me: "I don't know, we'll find out when we get there!"

Then they're grilling me b/c I don't know if you'll have to sit in an assigned seat during the whole cruise or if you'll be able to walk around like Jack Sparrow!

Well after searching all over the web all I have been able to find is that it isn't any of those 3 - not sure which one it is

All I know is that it looks like fun and will be even more fun with a great group of DIS'ers on board.

Kevin..........regarding diving at St. Lucia

Just booked the family on the 9am "pirate boat' cruise.

I really wanted to dive in St. Lucia .....I suppose I can not do both.

Or can I?

Any suggestions? I wonder if I can meet your group for your 2nd dive.

Probably not........

Gus
Oops, now you've gone and done it!

It won't work to meet the boat, since it doesn't usually come back in until both dives are done. Why don't you look at one of the other ports? We all will be doing St. Thomas and Antigua as well.

I think the pirate cruise sounds awesome! Have fun! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Mary,
Thanks for posting the pictures of the Brig Unicorn!
DD was disappointed it wasn't one of the bigger ships, but I think it looks very cool!
YO Ho YO HO a pirates life for ME!pirate:

Kevin......St. Thomas looks very interesting because of all the wrecks.

I am hoping the family will let me go, it being Christmas and all.

Antigua might be out, we are looking at swimming with dolphins there???????????

I am glad to heard you ARE diving St. Thomas...........I thought it was you that said you were NOT diving there.

Maybe that was "scubadiver"

The "Brig Unicorn" looks beautiful.

Thanks Mary

I really am getting quite "fired up" about this little trip of ours.

Maybe I goofed. It's St. Marteen that we are hanging out and doing other "stuff"

Cool Gus!

Well, I did the logical thing. I went and got the dvd out and went thru it.

It is definitely the one Jack Sparrow and crew are using as "that one" in the scene where they are getting the crew together at Tortuga on the wharf. I also ran thru the credits and dont' find it mentioned so I would guess it was just for that shot.

If you learned how to weld, you'd be spending a LOT more time at the shop I'm sure....

Or in the emergency room! ::yes::

Good evening all.

Stacey, I really don't know what else to tell those people about that camera. I'll just leave it be, I've given them all the warning I could about how much a steaming pile of ____ that camera is. I took a total of 12 pictures and threw it away. That's how bad it is. You'd take a better picture with one of those 1960's fold down cameras where you have to pull the picture out and let it dry for 5 minutes. I could go on for days about all the horrible things, but a picture is worth a thousand words.

These are at 640x480, untouched in any way from when they were removed from the camera.

Pic 1, the best one it took:

Pic2, Oops, I jiggled my hand a teeny bit when I took it. Was VERY typical of the rest, no my minivan was not underwater either:

A very old adage still applies. If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Kevin, thanks for the recommendation. Being a maintainance engineer, I know way too much about the care of o-rings and other kinds of seals.

I'm with you...I decided not to say anymore either. I'd just end up starting a fight. I tried all those other types of cameras....with the money I wasted there, I could have bought the decent one the first time!
Yes, those pictures are pretty sad! Oh well....they were warned!

We are home. What a fun day that was....at least I can say that I was definitely not bored! :p
Kevin, the worst part about being at the shop alone and not being able to weld is when the occasional guy comes in and says"Well, if no one is here, let me use your stuff and do it myself"!! Yeah, that'll happen.

The DCL Passporter says that the Brig Unicorn was the Black Pearl, and that it was also in the movie "Roots". Not saying if they're right or wrong, just reportin' the facts. I was very surprised when my kids said they'd rather snorkel. You should see all the Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom posters in DD's room!
Last year when she had to get her Hepatitis shots, she made me hold up a picture of Johnny Depp to take her mind off the shot. I kid you not. I was worried that it might distract the nurse! LOL
I keep telling her that Depp is my age....but she doesn't care.
Now I'm really sorry that I'm going to miss all of the pirate: fun!
Are our two original pirate: going....Virgil and GaRry?

Have a doc appointment in downtown Phoenix tomorrow. I really should go back to the office afterward and do invoicing....but I drive right past the mall on the way back.....I'm so torn.
Anyone want to take any bets as to where I end up??

Back in a few....checking my mail.

Stacey

I bought a small digital a couple of years ago, right before our DCL cruise. I'm thinking Sony. All of our pics of that cruise look like that.

Uh, Stacey, I dunno. Maybe the mall? Hope the sales are good.

Okay.....mall it is! And when DH wants to know just where in the devil I've been...I'll just say "Diana told me to go to the mall".

Well, that's it for me tonight. I'm glad I see the eye doc this week, too. Time for new glasses, my eyes are killing me.
Getting old is such fun. But I guess it beats the alternative!

GOOD WEDNESDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE EAST COAST CRUISERS! AND THE MIDS, WESTS, NORTHS, AND ACROSS THE OCEAN CRUISERS, TOO!!!

Good night,
Stacey
