Well all back to bed for a few hours. Woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. I'm going to try again. Be back with the "Good Morning" in a few hours. :D

There is always something that we need at DUI. My DS is thinking that he needs a drysuit now, I'm looking for some new underwear, gloves, hood, pockets.....

I'm in San Diego in November and was actually thinking about stopping by their operation. Do you know if they have a store, etc...

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Ok so I'm awake for the day now :D Happy Wednesday everyone!

Off to read the boards and then off to work again. Have a great day everyone.

Stacey - thanks for the notepads. I'm cool with either Santa or a Snowman.

Now I will be the first to admit I don't know a lot about the holiday so would love to hear more from those who celebrate it.

Mary, that's awesome clip art for the High Holiday! Really neat!

Angie, welcome to the group. Glad to have you and your hubby!

I was out of town yesterday, so I missed my normal posting. I also loved the cartoon about Ivan. I need to check in with my mom this morning. Looks like she's getting some high winds, but that's much better than it could be.

GaRry, do you still have our shirt order? I pm'd you a while ago.

Stace, I actually ordered a bunch of stuff for DS's bday party from Oriental trading. I looked for lime green lanyards for everyone but they don't have them anymore. On our first cruise (the one Vicki and GaRry were on), one of the cruisers got them with plastic sleeves. He made up name tags that slid in for all of us. They were perfect for putting your KTTW card into. But they don't have them anymore :(

Signing off for now. Have a great Wednesday. Lisa

Lisa - thanks. I found it on a post on the community board and wanted to share it here (the clip art). Mark found the cartoon on one of his boards.

On our DVC Member Cruise we had two of the DIS mods who are married to each other with us. They brought blue lanyards with the clear plastic holders and cards with the DIS logo on them. Very nice and we used them until we got on board and DVC gave us Member Cruise lanyards with personilzed name tags in them. So great minds think alike!

Haapy Wednesday.

Mary, Thanks for the beautifu holiday wish. How do you do all that fancy stuff and transfer it on here?????????????

Stacey, I will take either note pad. The children will love it.

I got a laugh last night out of Paul and Stacey. So funny. You two are wonderful . As everyone else is here also. Only 3 months and 4 days to go before we cruise. 3 months for us and we will be at WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time is a flying and we will all get to meet very soon.
Have a wonderful day everyone. TTYL-Gail

Angie,
Welcome to this crazy thread! Plan on checking in a few times a day or you'll be pages behind! :) We've got lots of medical people here. I'm a "retired" pediatric nurse, dh is a pediatrician. We've got another nurse, a nurse practitioner, an ER director..... who else am I missing??

Glad you'll be joining us! :)

Hello fellow holiday cruisers! I know that I have not been very active on this thread but rest assured my family is getting very excited about the upcoming Xmas cruise. Earlier this morning I posted a thread which I would like to ask you to take a look at:

Surprise Cruise for Kids - need your ideas...

I would sincerely appreciate your help and ideas on how my wife and I can surprise my DD6 and DS10 when we reveal to them we have this cruise booked. They have no ideal and we want to make the "surprise" very memorable!

Thanks!

Ack! One month from TODAY we leave for WDW! I'm already so stressed about the number of posts I'm going to miss while I'm gone. That will fall right at the time we should be calling in for excursions. Deep breaths, deep breaths.....whew!

First, welcome back.
We've pulled off two surpsise trips for our kids. One to WDW, one for a 3 day cruise.
For the WDW one we planned months in advance. The trip was in September, so in June, July, and August we put together scavenger hunts. The kids would get a clue that would give them an arbitrary hint where to find the next clue (in poem form) For example, maybe the first one would say something like:

Summer is hot, as a general rule,
This is the machine that keeps you cool.

The kids would have to figure out to go to the fan and they'd find a piece of paper that said F-A-N on it and it would have the next clue. One (or more) of the letters in the word FAN would be underlined (more on that later) So they'd go from place to place finding clues with underlined letters. If I remember right they had to find 10-12 clues hidden around the house. Once they had them all we'd give them a sheet of paper that had lines on it and they'd have to unscramble those underlined letters to figure out what the surprise was for that day's trip. In June, they unscrambled "Columbus Zoo" and we went to the zoo that day. July was "Udders and Putters" (the local putt putt course), Can't remember what August was. Well, in September, they unscrambled "Walt Disney World!" They were stunned. They could NOT believe it. My son actually cried (he was 3 1/2 yrs old) because he wanted to go to Funland --the indoor play place. My daughter (then 6) questioned every part of it...."where is the luggage?" "when did you pack?" "how are we getting there?" "where are the tickets?" "who is watching the cat?" FINALLY on the trip to the airport it sunk in and they were VERY excited.

For the cruise....we were going with my MIL and her dh. We told the kids that THEY were going and we had to drive them to the airport. Also told them MIL and dh had to borrow our luggage (that explained why OUR luggage was in the van) Dd was a bit ticked that grandma and grandpa didn't have the common courtesy to at least ASK us to join them on the cruise! While driving MIL and dh to the airport we spilled the beans. Had to produce our cruise documents to prove that we weren't playing some sick joke, but afterwards there was screaming and yelling and tears of joy.

I love those surprise trips. They are tricky to pull off. Many times we had to cover up something that was said accidentally. The joy on the kids faces was SO worth the hassle though!

Have fun!

I posted this on the other thread but I'll add it here too. If you want to send me your families photo I'll add it to the photo gallery. Then when you reveal the surprise you can show them many of the families they will be cruising with and they will already be included.

Also I just thought of this. If you want we could do something along the lines of the postcard thread. If you want I can do up an invitation and then mail it down to one of our Floridian cruisers who can post it from down there.

Let me know how I can help.

Hi Everyone!

Just checking in again to say hello and to say that I've got my dh to the point where it is a probable go for the Cat.3 vs. 2 cabins across from one another:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc . I also wanted to ask everyone how I could obtain a password to gain access the cruise newsletter and any other info you very busy cruisers you may be up to e.g. t-shirts, etc.!!!

Also, thanks Mary for the Happy New Year wishes, today at sunset begins the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, followed by 10 days (yes that Magic Number again - not 13 LOL!!) of personal reflection ending with Yom Kippur - the Day of Atonement and prayers so that everyone will have a happy and healthy new year and be inscribed in the book of life. We usually eat Round Challah (bread) and apples with honey for a sweet and full life along with the usually brisket, matzoh ball soup, etc... :p

Have a great day and happy new year!!

Hi Everyone!

Just checking in again to say hello

Melissa,
Welcome back!
Thanks for the quick refresher about Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. :)

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Wow, missed last night and had a lot to catch up on.

Stacey- I'll take a pad if there are any left.

My schedule is filling up quickly also. DD has volleyball Mon & WEd nigths. DS has soccer Tues & Fri, so I guess family night will have to be on Thursday, Survivor Night, as we call it. Its the one reality show that we all enjoy watching.

I am also starting to get some work which is a good thing because its supposed to be our excursion money! Someone posted on the regular cruise board that DCL is letting people book excursions 90 days out?? Has anyone else heard this??

Have a great day everyone!

I read that DCL was changing their final payment dates and some of the longer cruise and upper categories had their final payments due 90 days out. I guess that would mean you could book excursions then. This is just what I heard. Don't take it as fact.

Paul
