Good evening everyone,

I think we will do either the Buck Island or Nautica excursion on St Thomas - can't decide on which - anyone done them before?
We are just going to get a taxi to the beach on St Maarten and we will walk into town in Key West and have a wander around.
On Antigua I am keen to see the dockyard so I think we will get a taxi there and then head over to the beach where we went last time.
For St Lucia I am thinking of hiring a car as we would like to do a bit of a tour. Any idea whether its best to hire in advance (do DCL do car hire) or should we just risk it and hire something at the dock. Last time we went on a jeep tour which was good fun but we would prefer a bit more freedom to find our own way.
Castaway Cay we won't book anything in advance - we are kind of wandering around people and it looks like this is a good place to just mooch around.

Tina - I guess some people must be backing out of the 10 day cruise. I tried last week just for 2 people and there were no rooms available and when I talked to inventory control she said it was sold out. It will be interesting to see what happens as it gets closer to the 60 day mark. Come onnnnn Cat 1! I know, I know, but I can keep dreaming.

Well, heard from the relatives in FL and everyone seems to be okay. Had some minor damage to several homes, but Mom says it's not to bad. It seems like Pensacola and Pensacola Beach got hit really hard. The bridge that spans the bay on I-10 is washed out(watch the pictures on CNN), the bridge that goes over to Pensacola Beach is missing a 30 ft section and the other bridge that connects Pensacola to the eastern part of FL has damage. All four hospitals took a hard hit too so it looks like they are in for a rough time.

Gotta go pick up Alyssa and take her to soccer practice. Talk to you later.

Didn't know we had to introduce pets. For that matter, I never said anything about hobbies....

Let me add:
My hobbies....I love cross stitching, but don't take the time to do it enough (too much DIS)
ohiomickey is a computer geek, always tinkering with something. He also likes to write....mostly fiction and editorials. ;)
KT takes ballet and piano. Wants to take gymnastics so that she can achieve one of her goals "to be an OSU cheerleader."
Nick, my simple boy, he's happy with an empty cardboard container and a spoon. Seriously, he's so easy going.

We all love skiing and take an annual trip somewhere (outside of the lame Ohio ski territory) Of course, KT puts me to shame on skiis.

Pets...
You all know Maggie. No need to dwell on that.
We also have a cat. Dingle. Yes, Dingle. We got him from the pound when he was 1. We named him Slider (after the Indian's mascot) Somehow my then 3 yr old dd came up with the name Dingle. Not a name she had been exposed to. Well, it stuck. And it fits. He's always been a....well....a "excrement challenged" animal. Thus he was kicked out of the house 4 yrs ago and I figured would meet with an untimely death (fox, raccoon, car, etc) But, he still lives and is well and often brings us lovely presents as a sign of his undying love for us.
We also have a fish tank. A very sad 10 gallon tank. For his 6th brithday, simple-Nick wanted one of three things....either a fish tank, a bunny, or a platypus. Seeing as platypuses (or is it platypi?) are not available as pets, and bunnies require more care, we went with fish. After months of completely GREEN water, and MUCH more care than any bunny would have ever taken, we now have a sad tank. Fish come, fish go. Walls turn green. Who knows what I'm doing wrong, even the fish store ppl are stumped.
The kids want to bring home Freckle....the new kitten of my parent's barn cat. My dad is conflicted....he had "pail intentions" for the kitty. But now the kids have fallen in love with it. KT is trying to talk WVMD's daughter into taking it in as she wants to adopt a kitty. She knows that if Lauren takes Freckle in, then it won't have to fail it's swim test. ;)

Who are these people and why are they bashing our Garry? Only we get to do that!

(Just kidding...obviously, they know him)

Well I won't admit to robbing the cradle, but I did rob the grade school. When I first met Mark I knew I was older, but didn't know how much. He seemed like an "old soul" and we got along great.

It is only looking at the fact that if he went to my High School prom with me he'd have been in 2nd grade. That and the fact that my MIL is only 12 years older than me.

Most times people never say a thing, but I have been asked if I'm his mother on a number of occassions including once by a photographer on the ship and once by a someone on the DIS who saw our photos.

Btw, we really don't have a problem with State up North State. And, on a RARE occasion, we've even rooted for State up North (always root for Big 10 over anyone else) It was like a weird out of body experience when I was watching the bowl game last year singing "Hail to the Victor." Something was just not right.

Just can't bring yourself to say that big M word. You can just write M and I'll know what you mean.

I miss the Big Ten. We have been here in Florida for 10 years now and football is just not the same (sorry to all the Floridians), but they take it way to serious. The rivalry between the schools in the South is not fun, it's serious. In the Big Ten you can joke and kid about it and people have fun with it. Not here in Florida.

We watch the Big Ten whenever we can, especially if the Buckeyes are getten eaten up.

As far as spouses being younger than each other, all I have to say is DH is a Grandparent and I'm not!

Should we start referring to him as "Grandpa Handyman" instead of the "Handsome Handyman"?

Good Afternoon everyone!

Angela...if you are thinking of renting a car and driving it yourselves, then you should do it ahead of time. As far as I know, DCL doesn't do any car rentals. If you want a taxi, there will be plenty waiting at the ports.
We've never been to any of these islands, so I can't help with ideas. We want to do Capt Nautica's on St. Thomas....seemed like more time in the water.
We still haven't taken a final vote on Nelson's Dockyard, or the Dolphin/Stingray Swim. Did you enjoy the dockyard, Angela? How was the nearby beach?

Mary....I have people ask me all the time if I am my friend's mom! I'm only 4 years older than her, and none of us think I look old enough to be her mom. Then, the other night, this guy who owns a restaurant we frequent thought that Jay and I were Ruthie's parents or her boyfriend's parents. Her boyfriend is 3 years older than me. I try not to let it bother me.
I was only in the 4th grade when Jay was a senior. He won an award at his reunion for having the youngest kid. Everyone else has grandkids.
No grandkids here, Jay had never been married before. He was waiting for Miss Perfect.

No, I actually can't. Not during football season. Once the season officially starts (kick off of the first game) you must pay a quarter every time you say that word. It's like a curse word in our house during football season. ;) I'm already out 75 cents this year!

HEY! HEY! Now I don't know who to go slap first, you or my "DW".

I guess the truth is the truth. As it turns out, I was previously married when I was 13.:hyper: ::yes::

That's my story, and I'm stiiiiccckin' to it!

T.O.P. of page 666!!!! Woohoo!!!

I was at Home Depot with DH last spring. He was loading up one of the flat carts with bags of landscaping stone. I was leaning on the cart full of plants watching him (those bags of stones are HEAVY) when this lady with hear teenaged son walks up and asks me if my "son" can help her get a bag of mulch when he's done. I turned around, looked at her and said "he's my husband" while I giggled. My DH looked up and asked what she said (after she left). I told him and he was trying to figure that one out. He's 2 years older than me and we don't look that much different in age. He's 6' tall and definately looks over 20. I have a few gray hairs, but I don't think I look that old:confused: , but maybe I do.

Of course, we were carded at Walmart when we tried to buy a movie that was NC17. DH laughed at the cashier and said "you've got to be kidding me", showed her his license and she looked like someone slapped her in the face. She never asked to see my ID after that. I think she felt silly for asking.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one that happens to. I was starting to get a complex! I already have one or two...didn't need another one!

Ohminnie....sent you a PM! And, I never thought to ask you if you minded that I shortened your name to Ohminnie....mostly because when I read the puppy horror stories I feel like saying "Ohhhhh......poor Minnie" That's how you got your name shortened!

Well....Jordan has dance in a bit, and I am going to go get all gussied up and go to my candle party. Gussied up in Cave Creek is clean shorts and the tennies that are still white! :p

I'll check back in after a bit, or at least before bed!

Have a great night friends!

Speaking of age differences...I am happy to say that I am older than my DW. I just don't look it!!!

Typically the "D" in "DW" stands for dear, but I'm thinking there may be another adjective brewing here.

Back to dusting.... Mrs. WVMD and Lauren are coming tomorrow!!! :) :)

My kids are so giddy they will NEVER get to sleep!

I'd have had trouble not telling her to let her teenaged son help!
Okay, seriously, back to work. My house needs a once over. Or maybe two or three once overs! :)
