:wave2: Hello!
Doesn't sound like you guys are suffering too much, scubadiver!
But I don't want to trade places with you!

We took Jordan to the mall for cruise clothes. They had some great sales.....but it was still a ton of money. Wow!

Jared will be getting his new clothes at WalMart.

Not much else going on here.

See you all in the morning!
GOOD MONDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS!!

Good night!
Stacey

Jim - glad to hear the power is back on! You sure know how to weather a storm.

David - nice to see you posting. Come back and join us more often. When are you going to throw some more trivia our way.

Stacey - hope you are enjoying your visit with your mom! Enjoy your time together.

Well off to bed I go. Work beckons in the morning!

We had that same thought about the REAS, but after all the issues with trying to book the excursions Sharon decided not to fight trying to get Palo reservations and signed up for REAS. We figured the kids would enjoy the rose petals. They are not that special for Sharon any more. She gets them on her bed every weekend along with breakfast in bed. That's the kind of guy I am.

COUGH! COUGH!

Anyone got any hip waders? Man, it's a bit deep in here.......

For those of you who booked "private tours:"
With whom, how did you find them, where did you hear feedback about them...I'm esp. interested in St. Maarten and St. Thomas...

GaRry, Diana...Did you guys ever get my PMs / emails?

I looked for Eli's Eco-tour. Is it on the DCL excursion list? Because it looks great on the web site, but I can't see it on DCl's excursions...

Has anyone done the Golden Eagle in St. Maarten??/ Any feedback?

I've been trying to avoid calling DCL these past couple of days for excursion stuff figuring they have enough on their hands with the hurricane etc. But for all I know it's a separate #

BTW, the fact that I can now remember all my questions should tell you that I'm a night owl...I hate mornings. If it were up to me the day would officially start at noon (including schools and businesses). ::yes::

We are all night owls, so it's hard to get Keith to sleep in time for him to actually be awake for school in the morning. Because we are all night owls we have 2nd seating for dinner on the cruise. 2nd seating is also a great excuse to get the cheese and crackers platter in the cabin (stateroom?) halfway thru the afternoon, for snack :hyper:

GOOD MONDAY MORNING TO ALL CRUISERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:jumping1:

(Is there such a thing as a good Monday morning????)

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Monday!

Pretty quiet day on the thread yesterday. We need to keep talking people. I told gaRry we'd get to 12.000 for him :D

Well off to read the boards and then to work.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning all. Glad our Floridians weathered Jeanne okay. I was wondering if my storm was going to fit it's namesake?? But you all know I'm WAY TOO NICE to hit my cruising friends!!! Even though I do pack a mean punch (and kick too!)

scubadiver, just like hurricanes always hit on the weekends, our computer virus always hits on Friday night. Our Juno got corrupted again, so no internet over the weekend. I re-downloaded the software AGAIN, and will try to load tonight.

We officially listed our house yesterday. Now it's just wait and see what happens. The realtor said that we will probably have many many showings this week, even starting today, so we picked everything up before we left this morning. I'm just not used to a seller's market. Every other time we sold houses, we were lucky to have 2 showings a week, and we had plenty of notice. If we do sell, the puter's going in the shop while we move to get rid of whatever is causing it's problems!!! Then DD's little fingers will be chopped off if she downloads ANYTHING ELSE! Linda, they can add that crime to the list when they lock me up for all my many problems!

Dee, glad to see you posting again. I know what you mean about forgetting the questions. I'm always forgetting what I wanted to say!

And Karen, I had no idea I had 21 TOPs! I can only remember one or two.

And finally, Happy Birthday to Denise's DD and to Gus!! Hope they were happy ones.

Have a great Monday everyone. Lisa

Hi everyone.......just logged on at work.

My computer is still down at home

WOW ........more then 10 pages to catch up on.

I'll start with this one.

THANKS for the birthday wishes.

Dee - We chose to do some excursions on our own because we have already been to these places once before and have a sense of what we want to do. In addition, Disney doesn't seem to offer great choices for cruisers returning to ports for multiple visits.

We are going out on our own on:
- Key West (booked the waverunner tour through Island Watersports),
- St. Thomas (proably will take the tram up to the vista point, then do some shopping), and
- St. Maarten (will likely rent a car and drive to Marigot for lunch, shopping, and climbing up to the old fort).

Since we have not been to Antigua and St. Lucia, we booked Disney excursions (Kayak & Snorkel Eco-Adventure on Antigua and Waterfall Island Bike Tour on St. Lucia).

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Kara

"For those of you who booked "private tours:"
With whom, how did you find them, where did you hear feedback about them...I'm esp. interested in St. Maarten and St. Thomas..."

Hi Dee and others -

We found our tours via the cruisecritic boards recommendations and e-mailed those people we felt were interesting to us. We did private tours for the first time when were were on the Celebrity Galaxy in Europe this summer and found them to be better than the ship tours for the most part (smaller group size, more personalized to what we wanted to see tours and away from the more touristy sites) So, for St. Martin we have a private car tour with Joyce (found on the cruisecritic boards) and in St. Thomas I've booked with Godfrey (godfreytourvi.com) who has a "Safari" bus that hold up to 14 and picks you up at the port in the morning and allows some shopping time, 2 hours of tour and then 2 hours for swimming, etc. at a beach of one's choosing (Coki's beach probably) as we have done St. Thomas on past cruises. Also for Antigua we have booked Eli Eco-Tours (room for 25) which seems to get excellent reviews from everyone on the cruisecritic board and is booked privately and not through the cruise ship. As for St. Lucia we have booked the pm Pirate cruise on the Unicorn but hope to book a morning tour of about 3 hours to see the inland sites (town and maybe the volcano etc.) before we go on the afternoon tour. Please let me know if you are interested in any info or sites.

Have a great day!

Melissa

:sunny: Good Morning!! :sunny:

Mom is still asleep, although how she can with Jay up & going, the kids getting ready for school, the dog barking....is beyond me!

Trying to figure out a schedule for today....work, packing, grocery store, laundry, make a list of the kid's activities for Jay while I'm gone.....but here I am instead! LOL

I think half the time, I don't even realize how much all of us women do, until it's time to make a list for the DH!
Guess I could just up and leave, and let them wing it.

I have to say this to someone, but don't want to post it on the main boards (chicken!) but I'm tired of listening to people whine about their "ruined" cruises, and how it's all DCL's fault.
I guess mostly the 9 -14 cruise, I think it was. We had our itinerary changed and the date changed for DD's wedding last Sept due to Isabel. The last night, as we came back to port, we had up to 20' waves. Jay & I were on the verandah watching for a long time. The only thing that was really scary was when Jay's sister & I went looking for Jared, who was MIA. I refused to go up to Deck 10. The ship wasn't just rocking. It rolled, it bumped, it slammed. I ran into walls. But you know what? We loved it.
We had a great time, and you won't hear a word of complaint from any of us. Well, maybe Jay's lovely sister, who said she was "bored". (See if I ever pay for her to go on a cruise again!)
DCL did a great job in every area.
That's all....off my chest.

A Triple F.....how's the weather in your parts?

Jim, are you guys all okay? Cindy? Leslie?

It's only 73 outside right now! Gorgeous! Our highs above only been in the mid 90's. Fall is finally here!

Mary....glad you founda couple of swimsuits. I'm scared to try mine on, but I guess I should be doing that.
I'm right there with you.....I figured I won't be losing any weight, either. Oh well. Fat & happy, that's me!
Gotta Love Me!!!

Jordan modeled her dresses for Dad last night. He wants to know if they can implant a chip into her, similar to Lo-Jack. I told him we're setting up a neighborhood watch. Not sure he thinks that's good enough.

Oh...get this...at the mall yesterday...we saw some kids who were still into that "Goth" look, all dressed in black, etc. One girl had on a collar, and was being led on a leash, by another girl!!!
I do believe that I have now seen it all!!

I guess thinking about Jay trying to figure out how to not let Jordan out of his sight reminded me of that! LOL

Guess I better get moving. See what "DIS Depravation" does to me???? I wrote a book!

Have a really great day! TTYL,
Stacey

:p Ha....I kind of like that....."DIS Depravation"!! Glad I can amuse myself now & then!

Dee, we have done the Golden Eagle and is was so much fun that we are doing it again this trip. The crew was absolutely fantastic!

Just read Melissa & Kara's posts.....good morning ladies!

To book our private excursions, I looked at the tourism sites for the islands, then went to the sites of the ones I thought were interesting. Double checked some of them with feedback online and on Cruise Critic, and also a couple of books I have about excursions, destinations, etc. One book is by The Discovery Channel.

We're just going to walk around Key West on our own,
and have speed boats booked for snorkeling at St. Maarten/Anguilla and for St. Lucia.

HAPPY MONDAY MORNING CRUISERS!!!!!

Well, I guess I better start looking into excursions more. I think we want to do Eli's, I better go to his site and book something before it's too late.

Okay, I've got to finish 2005 budgets this week for presentation to the board. (Well, actually, I need to finish them up today and tomorrow). Of course, I'm waiting on department directors to get them to me so I can finalize, analyze, and then send back to them with changes so we can go through it again!!! I'll be glad when Wed. comes around.

Oh, and it's a payroll week too!

I better really get to work..............

Linda

The Cruise Critic Ports of Call Board is an excellent research spot for "off ship" excursions. People are very free with their opinions over there, and there is a thread for every port. Lots of information about Eli's tour.

Nice term coining, Stacey. But I don't think any of us are suffering DIS Deprivation given that we're closing in on 11,000 posts! At least we won't have to sign up for internet on the ship, everyone that we talk to will be there!

On that note, who wants to share an internet account? I would like to check e-mail a couple of times. Wonder what it will cost for unlimited on our cruise?

Dee, no PM's.
