Morning all! Hope you're all enjoying a nice holiday.

Trivia queens Barb and Mary, I bow to your knowledge! Having never been to DL, I had absolutely NO CLUE. I do remember seeing the pictures from the Magical World of Disney on Sunday nights when I was a kid though. And we had all the big hard bound Disney story books. Some of them were set in Disney Land. We were actually in FL when WDW opened. My dad had been sent down to a training class and we spent 6 weeks on the beach (I think it was West Palm) when I was in 1st grade. Mom would have us do school work in the morning, and we played in the sand the rest of the day. But we didn't go to WDW. Not sure why?

Anyway, we had a beautiful day Saturday so I did lots of yard work (got a bad sunburn where I missed with the suncreen). Yesterday was kind of gray, and we had church in the morning, and a music night in the evening so it was pretty busy. Today it's raining, so I'll probably finish up housework. We're supposed to visit with friends this afternoon if they make it back from VA. And I interview summer babysitter candidate number 1 tonight. The 2nd one's tomorrow, and I have a couple more to do this week.

Clearly not much exciting out this way, huh?

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Good Morning All!
Mary's right, of course. The counter where the cash register is covers the sink that's still there. The refridgerator is still there, also...the CM's put their lunches in it.

Lisa, sounds like you're plenty busy with the interviews and all. I was lucky (??) enough to have to drag mine to work with me when they were younger. Now they can finally stay home alone, as long as I'm not gone too long. Work is only about 3 minutes away...so it's not too bad. My worst fear is that they'll kill eachother.

One of these days, I'll come up with a trivia question that Mary & jilljill can't answer.....HA..fat chance of that!

Have a great day....off to look at tile!

Stacey

P.S. No one got sick last night, Virgil! Gonna throw left-overs at them tonight & see how they do! ;)

I really think what I had/have is heat rash. It is on both my arms and legs. It has gotten better over the last couple of days, but my arms are still "bumpy". Got this once before after a cruise.

So we are taking it easy today. Doing lots of laundry and unpacking. Made another payment on the cruise today. I should have only 3 more months and we'll be all paid for :D

Can't believe my current vacation is over :( Well we have our summer mini trips to look forward to as well as our trip out to Hershey. Of course the best thing to look forward to is the cruise!

Mary, that is so weird about our rashes. I had thought that I had sunburn on my arms, they had bumps and were itchy, but it went away. There are still some bumps, but no itch, and no sunburn. Strange.

Where did you get the Santa Mickey & cruise ship? I love them. Are they hard to put on your sig?
I like Mike's "ship in a bottle", too.

No leftovers tonight, yippee! The local ER's are safe. We're going to a BBQ.

Will be back later to say goodnight. Maybe I can come up with a really good trivia question by then!

Stacey

Tomorrow we'll be under the 200 mark!!!!!

The santa mickey we've had for a while - I've used it on the main cruise page. The ship was delveloped by a member of the DIS (actually her DH). I saw it on another thread and she said anyone was welcome to use it as long as they hosted it on their own site. If you have place to host them it isn't hard at all to add them into the signature line. You add them just like you would any other image.

As for the rash. I've been taking Advil a lot for my arthritus (I have it really bad in my one ankel). One of the warnings it gives you is that it make you more sensative to the sun. So I think the combination of the heat, sun and Advil just did me in. It is slowly going away.

It's been a really lazy day here. Just kind of worn out from the trip. Back to work tomorrow and it is going to be a hard week. My boss is out all week and with our Exec. VP retired and gone it will be very strange.

The food coloring trivia is very interesting.

At the Fantasmic! moat, they use a different strategy to keep the water murky. I thought I remembered our guide (on the backstage magic tour) tell us the moat is murky because they have a special filtration system that does not disrupt algae growth. I did a search to confirm this because our tour was a couple years ago, and I wanted to make sure I had my facts straight.

Sure enough. A British site on Disney trivia states:

"The lagoon at the front of the stage is only 1.5ft deep! The water is filtered, but they deliberately don't filter the algae out, that way the water stays murky and people can't see how deep it really is."

It also hides the gas lines for the lake of fire sequence. So there's a nugget to add to your trivia knowledge bank.

And how about this one ... how do they make the dragon's breathe of fire during Fantasmic? Any takers?

No fair...you have an "in" with the questioner.

My answer......a blowtorch. Keep in mind I had two huge margaritas at the BBQ we just got home from!

The river around Tom Sawyer Island at DL is more like 6- 8 ft deep....
we were there a little over a year ago when it was drained. That was an interesting sight to see.

Truly, though, I don't know how they make the dragon breathe fire. That's why all of Disney is so fascinating.

I am heading for bed. Wayyy too much fun at the BBQ.

TERRIFIC TUESDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE CHRISTMAS CRUISERS!!!

Stacey

:flower: Good Morning :flower:

As for the trivia - The fire that belches from the dragon's mouth in Fantasmic is actually COFFEE CREAMER. It is blown out by compressed air and ignited electrically. This creates a small "dust" explosion that cascades into the water where natural gas takes over. Atleast it is at WDW so I'm hoping it's the same at Disneyland. :D

Back to work I go today. I'll try and check in at lunch time if not I'll be back on tonight.

Have a great day everyone!

Mary's Trivia knowledge comes through again!

The fire breathing dragon effect in Fantasmic is Creamora powder, which apparently is flammable (Kids, don't try this at home!)

Hope everyone has a great day.

I think that we need to get posting.....IF we want to stay in the lead.....AND set the all time record.....

The Aug. Repositioning cruise is on Fire - and with VM posting there.... well- our title may be short lived.....

Nice day so far - few patients.... I'm sure that will change...

Morning all. GaRry, we had rain all weekend except Saturday. It was really hard rain too. In fact, Friday night, that's why I left chat early. Lightning, and hard enough rain that it sounded like hail. It rained from Sunday afternoon through Monday afternoon. The good news is that cooled down the temps. It's supposed to be in the high 70s instead of the mid 90s we had earlier last week.

Mickey, cool info about the creamer. I think just about anything in powder form will ignite. Did you know that fire is one of the things they worry about in flour factories? All the employees have to wear static free gowns, and wear static bands on their wrists. It's also bad for your lungs to breathe in all that fine powder.

Gail, I hope things are going better for your Daughter. I sure hope they can pinpoint the cause of her allergy. It doesn't sound like fun!

DD and I are going to the Bowie Baysocks (minor league baseball) tomorrow. She was picked because of how much she's improved at school. The whole thing is free for her and a parent. One of the few times our school has given us anything!!

Have a great day everyone.

I'm glad you told me not to try this at home! LOL I just might have.
I hope gaRry doesn't use creamer!!!

That was a really good trivia question.......I'm beginning to realize that there is NOTHING Mary doesn't know!!! Astounding!

Back to work for me, too......DD has summer school, which will really make working harder, having to quit & run after her. And DS starts his nightly 7-9 baseball practice. I thought we were on vacation!

Oh well... Heigh Ho!!

Good day everyone,
Stacey

P.S. We need all of our cruisers back to get the posts up!!! Where is everyone?

Happy Tuesday all! Back from four wonderful days at Lake Powell, 90 degrees, spent time skiing, wakeboarding and tubing. Had a blast. Kept our boat down there, hopefully we can get some more trips in this summer in between DD dancing/singing/camp and all that other stuff going on!

Boy, I had some reading to do! Glad everyone had a great weekend. I can't believe how fast the time is flying. I was thinking this morning (bummer thought) of how soon I have to pay off the cruise and planning out my money strategies!

Okay, back to work.

Thanks Virgil for the info on the MVMCP. I'll have to think about how much that would cost all 13 of us to head to the park that night.

Linda

I'll post, but have nothing new to say. We've been incredibly lazy since the recital. DD worked on her room a while, but it only made a dent. I do notice more clothes in MY pile, though. Time for a yard sale and a big donation, no doubt!

Off to do some packaging for Ebay sales. The P.O. should be a mess today!

So we have no speculations yet about additions shows or menus that DCL will offer on our 10 day cruise? They've got have something in mind by now!
