Watch out Las Vegas........the ladies are in town! Can't wait to hear more from Stace, LeiLani and Diana about their get-together! Wish we were all there to enjoy, too!

Hope everyone had a good 4th of July! The Gettysburg battle reenactment was exciting, but the weather was hot! Hard to believe they wore wool uniforms -- I would have died from heat exhaustion. Both our DS's loved the battle reenactments. Talked to several "soldiers" and learned a lot about life "back then". Spent the rest of the holiday weekend between the hotel pool and Hersheypark. Hersheyparkers-in-September: you won't believe how fast this new roller coaster - the "StormRunner" goes! It's scary just watching other people on it! Watched fireworks there.......great show, too.
Lisa - Would love to meet you at Tysons - but both DS's have summer camp then. Drats.
Matt - How's everything going for you? Did you move yet?

It's late and I am about ready for bed but I just wanted to check in and let you the Ladies DIS meet in Vegas was great. We had a wonderful time at dinner and all our DD's got along great. We decided we are going to be in trouble on the cruise with all those girls running around. I will try to let you know more later and Mary I think Stacey has a picture she will be sending to you.

Morning everyone! Well I got Mom on a plane back to Florida. Hooray! This little conversation from yesterday afternoon/last night will just give you a little bit of normal life around my mother. All week, whenever we've been somewhere that costs money, she'll make a half hearted reach for her wallet, and say "let me give you some money for that". I typically say "no that's all right, I've got it." So around the weekend, she says "I'll take you all out to dinner on Tuesday to thank you for having me this week" (remember, I bought her ticket up here too). Well, I left work yesterday midday (after calling home so they'd be ready) to bring them back to our pool on base. When I got home, the only one in a swimsuit was my mom, and DS wasn't even in the house, he was fishing down the street! After gathering everyone up, and ensuring they had clothes to go to dinner after the pool, we set off. As we reach the base, my mom says "I have a $20 travellers check, a $10 and five ones. Do you think that's enough for dinner?" We're talking 5 people here. McDonald's would be pushing it for that! I muttered something like "I doubt it Mom, but don't worry about it. We'll take care of it." We ended up at our local mexican restaurant, which isn't very expensive, but the bill still ended up at $40. Mom hands me a $20 travellers check. I just said "What's that for? I can't cash it." And we ended up paying the bill. Parents, got to love them! I just can't imagine how it will be in Disney. Maybe she won't be able to get the time off (I hope, I hope!)
Okay, bad daughter has now vented enough! It's probably because she's now visited twice in 6 months, and I know we're going to see her again in December. I think my mom limit is once a year.
Charlotte, glad you had fun in PA. It was awfully hot wasn't it? And I can't wait for the new coaster. I just love fast rides (as long as they don't spin!) Sorry we won't be able to hook up at Tyson's. I looked up the bus times. We drop her off at 10 on Sunday, and pick her up at 11:30 the next Saturday.

Well, my parents came down today to celebrate KT's birthday. Since my dad was here he swapped out three faucets in our bathrooms (2 in one, 1 in another) Went about 6 miles on the bike trail. Had a nice dinner and a birthday celebration....
After they left I noticed something....the two faucets in the main bath DON'T match! Even though their boxes indicate they are identical faucets, there are subtle differences in them and now, everytime I look at them, I'm disgusted b/c they don't match! Of course, the faucet in the other bathroom is an identical match to ONE of the main bath's faucets, but now that involves swapping two more faucets!!!! GRRRRRRR. I'm wondering how far I can take this with home depot to get some $$$ back. After all, we did have to have them "professionally" installed (we pay my dad with dinners out) and now will have to have a "contractor" (my dad) come back to re-do it. Don't you think that's worth something???
Just a sick feeling in my stomach after the end of a lovely day.

All the kids and I had a great time at the beach for the Fourth. My family has a place on the 7th hole of the golf course at Manzanita, OR. If you've ever been to the Oregon Coast, it's located about 6 miles south of Cannon Beach, and is a great little town. They put on quite the celebration on the 4th of July; pancake breakfast, parade, arts & crafts fair and a great big fireworks display right on the beach. This year we had perfect weather conditions, (at least for the Oregon coast). It was perfectly clear, no wind, and with our campfire we didn't even have to wear coats.
I'll chime in more once summer is over. I'm settling into a new job at work, (local County building department) and right now is our busiest time of year. It starts to slow down in mid September, then I'll have more time to post.
Just keeping up with the reading of all the posts is a challenge. That means we'll have a really fun group, cuz it will seem like we're already friends. Paul is already talking about getting clothes ready, so I know he's getting excited. He briefs me everyday on all the latest news, so the excitement is building in the Crosby house.

Theresa - my thoughts were that once we had things finalized (much closer to the actual cruise) I would do up a one page DIS Navigator that would list events and for those people who want to share them their cabin numbers. That way if someone wanted to get together they would have a way to contact each other. I won't just put someones cabin number on the list (I have a lot of them) without their OK. I can pass these out at the first DIS meet along with the buttons.
Morning all! Minnie, I would love a vacation like that!!!! Maybe they'd give you a break on the price? What do you think?

More of a normal day here now. DD goes to girl scout camp Sunday for a week. Last year she got sick and I had to go get her. She swears she won't get sick this year. Of course, I'm not sure how she's going to prevent this, but positive thinking is a good thing.
It doesn't seem possible it's Thurday. Those holidays throw me for a loop every time! So happy Thursday to all. Lisa

Things have been very busy here on the home front. We are expecting company from DH side. We found out yesterday that his cousin's from Florida will be coming for a long weekend next weekend. The house will rock with 3 boys 4 and under and one girl age 7!!! It should be a lot of fun and I got babysitters for my birthday so we can go out and celebrate my 30th next Saturday-HA,HA!!
DD comes home from Girl Scout sleep away today. DD went for a 3 nighter. I am so excitied to hear all about her trip. It was a mini sampler to see if she likes it. DD really want to go to camp at Frenchwoods in upstate NY next year for a 3 week session. It is a performing arts camp. They also have Arts and crafts, Circus, Tennis, Swimming, Boating. It is mainly a performing arts and music program. We are going to go check it ourt in a few weeks. I could barely handle her being gone for 3 nights!!!! I keep telling my husband that she is only 7.5 and will be 8.5 next year, but she really wants to go. We shall see. I am sure the Girl Scout experience was wonderful. She loves that kind of stuff.
DH is working at our home today as it is going to rain!! We are almost finished. We are waiting for the granite to be delivered and installed. The children can finally play n our backyard as of 2 weeks ago.
